5 out of 5 eggsA very good case for a very good price!

Pros: • Very clean design. The matte black finish paired with the Blue LEDs is a very clean, sexy design.

• This case is large enough to house the newer AMD 7xxx, and nvidia 7xx cards.

• The airflow is absolutely great in this case. The default fans "could" be replaced, but I find no need to as they move enough air. Plus it's got enough fanslots for a few aftermarket upgrades in case you need more airflow.

• Very good cable management for a budget case! I don't have a modular PSU, but it still looks very good inside of my case, all things considered!

• The HDD installation is a breeze in this case!

• There is a cutout on the back of the case for installing aftermarket CPU coolers. This was very handy when I installed my Hyper 212 PLUS. Which brings me to my next point..

• The case is large enough to house my Hyper 212 PLUS Aftermarket CPU cooler. A lot of cases will either not fit, or barely fit. This case houses it with room to spare!

• Bottom mounted + raised PSU is very nice, allowing for great PSU airflow as well!

• The USB and Audio ports on the front of this case work just as intended with no issues!

Cons: • When writing a review for this case, Newegg required I add a Con. Which is unfortunate as I can't find ANYTHING wrong with this case!

Other Thoughts: This is an absolutely fantastic case, and is a must for ANY budget PC Gamer. It's done everything I've asked, and more!

5 out of 5 eggsNice case, awesome customer support!

Pros: Roomiest case I've had yet
bottom psu
tons of fan mounts AND filters for most of the intakes!
Amazing customer support! Zalman and Newegg (though, I didn't deal with newegg on this one, I have before on other stuff)
rubber hard drive isolators
Amazing airflow! ssd mount on back AND a tray for another ssd!
rubber feet that are actually sticky! this sucker don't slide easy!

Cons: hdd mounts aren't truly tool less
unusual power switch routing is easy to destroy switch and/or wire

Other Thoughts: I bought one of these second hand. It was missing all the extra accessories that come with the newer ones (usb plate, front fan mount, hard drive mounting screws, pci covers). I didn't really mind until I ripped the power switch wires off when removing the faceplate... I didn't realize they were routed where they were pinned under the top plastic plate with nearly no slack. Unfixable, oops.... I emailed zalman to see how much a replacement was and was surprised to find it was $3! So I asked them to send me new ones and the hard drive screws too. $9 to my door. It only took 3 days to arrive, and when it did, I was surprised to find the entire accessory bag that came with the case! ALL the screws for the case, zip ties, manual, power switch, even the cpu power extender! I was so impressed, I had to write a review. I still don't have the usb panel, but since I have all the bays full anyway, I'll wait until next time. maybe I'll grab the fan mount for the front, too, when I do. All in all, that's the only problem I've had with this thing. could be a bit more space behind the motherboard tray, but now that I have those zip ties holding the main power and cpu power wires, the back panel went on pretty easily. I love this case! Thanks!

4 out of 5 eggsGood Case

Pros: Price, cooling options, size, easy to work in and assemble.

Cons: Case arrived with warping and severe distress of outside box and inner styrofoam. Looked like it had been returned and resold as new. Was not happy about that, but the case worked ok and all the slots and motherboard mounts lined up with components without issue. Side panels lined up a little weird after being warped by shipping damage, but was able to make them work normally after some bending.

Other Thoughts: Great case, just hope you don't get one that had a 100# or larger package laying on it and warping the case during shipping. Worse yet, the damage could easily have happened in the warehouse (pinched on the pallet) and there was massive amounts of packing tape on the outer box like someone tried to fix the mistake.

First time I have seen this type of quality control from NewEgg for products sold as "NEW" and not "OPEN BOX".

Overall, I love this case and it's features. The included fans are quiet and the Blue LED is a perfect color and brightness match with Cooler Master fans which I love to add for extra cooling.

Worth the money... Just remember this is a USB 2.0 only case for front panel, so you would have to add a front panel USB 3.0 for newer motherboards if wanted.

4 out of 5 eggsZalman Z9 Case

Pros: Decent looking case.

Good airflow.

Can add additional fans.

4 USB 2.0 Ports on front panel.

Cons: No USB 3.0 ports (although my mobo doesn't have USB 3.0 so it's a non-issue for me).

Other Thoughts: Not bad for a case.

1 out of 5 eggsPoor design. Broken component(s).

Pros: The case is big and that counts for quite a bit if you have large video cards.

I got this for $45 which wasn't bad.

Cons: Immediately after opening this case and installing my mobo and components, I couldn't get the tower to power on. After looking over everything and trying several fixes, it turns it the power jumper is broken and the button doesn't work.

The "slide in" design if the HDD bay is poorly designed and implemented. Instead of using two clips to slide the drives in and it like trays, you have to install screws with special washers and even then the thing is too small and only one side of the drive will fit into the guides of the bay. Took too long to set up and couldn't even install properly.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear valued customer,

We sincerely apologize for the issue. Please contact our customer service e-mail or via toll free number 1-888-925-6266 for further assistance.

Thank you.

Best regards,

5 out of 5 eggsZ9 eggcellent customer service

Pros: I purchased this case for my build on 05/21/11. Great design installer friendly, no sharp edges. This case is quiet and cool even after adding three 135mm fans. Now two years plus later I noticed that I have a need for USB 3.0 ports but this case does not include them so; I emailed Zalman and requested a part number or adapter for an upgrade to the front IO panel I also included my MOBO make and model. My email was responded to the next business day and in less then one week I have a brand new IO panel including two USB 3.0 ports integrated from my MOBO. All of this at 25% the cost of aftermarket remedies.

Cons: None at this time. Zalman has excellent customer service and values the buyers opinion

Other Thoughts: MOBO is Gigabyte GA-870A-UD3 AM3

3 out of 5 eggs Great case for the money!

Pros: Bought this case for a build I did for my son's PC. MB, power supply, video card, and fans fit and connected in the case with no problems. Plenty of room to hide cables and provide good air flow.

Cons: Rebates with this company are terrible. Sent in all available UPC codes from the box (after the first one was rejected) and the rebate was still rejected. Sent an email to inquire about the rejection and the email was rejected. Go figure! If this company provides a rebate for your case consider yourself lucky!

4 out of 5 eggsFor the's hard to complain about

Pros: Cheap
room for big graphics card
loads of ventilation

Cons: PCI-E slots are bent back somewhat

Other Thoughts: I paid $30 for this thing after rebate and I have a hard time faulting this case for anything major. The only issue I have is the PCI slots. You know where you screw in the card of your choice to the case? Well, it's bent more back than forward. If it's not done right it pulls on the card somewhat and can slightly pull the card out of the slot on the motherboard. This is not a good thing. I had to put a little pressure on the back of the case so it would bend the PCI slots towards the front. My video card was pulling out of the motherboard slot slightly. I think I've read a similar complaint in here about this very issue but it's not something I can't deal with Ideally this will or would be fixed for future versions but maybe mine was just not done wrong off the factory line.

This case is super lightweight. The most complaints I think are about how thin the metal is and that it's not sturdy. This is a stupid way to think. Is anyone in here gonna sit on their case?...or stack a bag of concrete on top of it? The case does have thin metal but it will hold up. I have no complaints about it. It's quite a bit lighter than my old CM 690 but that's not a bad thing.

The best part of the case is the ventilation. The side ventilation is just a good engineering design or was a stroke of luck for the Zalman group. Look at the side...look at where your heatsink, vid card and power supply would go. They will all draw cool air from the side of the case and not the front. So in theory, you really don't have to have a case fan in the from going. That means less fans and noise. The vents at the bottom below the power supply are just fine. If your not in the know, power supply fans don't spin at too high an RPM and don't draw in too much air too begin with. I have an old Antec 300 case that it's power supply turned upside down and that case had no bottom ventilation and that power supply still runs fine.

For the money I paid...I'd buy another one easy. Lightweight, plenty of ventilation and a good price...what's not to like?
