Turn on German engineering and feel the power.

The Deep Silence 1 Mid Tower Case by Nanoxia, an ingenious Germany manufacturer, delivers an exciting combination of performance, features, and quality. Exquisite looks and timeless elegance characterize the appearance: the Deep Silence 1 is deliberately simple in design. Common controls are inconspicuously integrated into the exterior surface, maintaining the linear design flow.

This innovative tower is the foundation for a whole new line of future products which boast the ideal system cooling and sensationally low noise levels – especially for the use of high-end PC-systems. It's also characterized by an array of unique features like an air chimney, a fully modular HDD cage, and a retractable I/O panel, so you'll get an amazing experience for your next PC build.

  • newegg Minimal Noise In the course of the many years of development work, the focus was always on two requirements: minimize noise and minimize system temperatures. As to this case, a host of sound-dampening materials and measures are adopted to live up to its name: Deep Silence. The side panels and top cover are fitted with specially designed, noise-reducing insulation materials to minimize and absorb any noises. The solid front doors use sound-absorbing materials that contribute significantly to the most effective noise reduction. The hard disk drives are mounted using a rubber suspension, in order to absorb vibrations before they even are noticeable. The power supply rests on rubber mounts, with a suspension frame available on the back. Rubber-suspended case feet, crafted in the classy "hi-fi" look, safely contain all vibrations.
  • newegg Intelligent Ventilation System with Water Cooling Support As many as three high-quality Nanoxia Deep Silence fans are preinstalled in the case. Behind the front cover, two 120mm fans rotate at a maximum of 1,300 RPM. The fans are located in special swiveling brackets, which allow for simple removal of the fans and easy access to the serial dust filters. Mounted at the back of the case is a 140mm fan, rotating at roughly 1,100 RMP. A two-channel fan control for up to six fans is included. The integrated fan control allows optimizing settings to balance low system temperatures and the lowest possible noise levels, even at an almost-full fan assembly. This chassis accommodates a 240mm radiator below the steel top cover. By not using any of the HDD-cages, another 240mm radiator can be fitted behind the front cover (behind the front-mounted 120mm fans). Four additional rubber hose guides, for external water cooling solutions, can be found on the rear side.
  • newegg Air Chimney With an easy-access slider, the Air Chimney on the top cover can be opened to increase heat dissipation. As heated air always rises, the heat generated by the components passively escapes from the case interior without any additional noise. When not in use, the Air Chimney can be closed to preserve the clean look of the case line.
  • newegg Fully Modular, Adjustable HDD Cage Three fully modular HDD cages are provided to mount up to eight 2.5-inch- or 3.5-inch hard disk drives. Two of these cages are designed for three HDDs, and the third holds up to two. In the interests of allowing as much personalization as possible, the three hard disk drive cages can be removed and combined as desired. This way it is possible to accommodate two, three, five, six, or eight data storage drives in the Deep Silence 1. The hard drives are installed in special mounting carriages, which are designed to accommodate both 2.5-inch HDDs/SSDs as well as 3.5" HDDs. Screws with rubber suspension are used to hold the drives in place. When three HDD cages are installed, this case supports a VGA card of up to 315mm long, along with that of up to 445mm long when HDD cages are removed.
  • newegg Cable Management The Tower offers a lavish cable management system. All openings in the motherboard tray are fitted with rubber guards. Even when using Micro-ATX motherboards, it is possible to hide the cables behind the motherboard tray.
  • newegg Retractable I/O Panel The I/O panel can be found on the top cover of the case, with two USB 3.0, two USB 2.0, mic, and audio connectors available. The panel can easily be embedded in the cover if the connectors are not needed. Again, this is easily retractable. This ensures that the simple look of the case is maintained, without sacrificing its useful features.

3 out of 5 eggsNice Case

Pros: I like pretty much everything about this case. I really like the padding on the panels which make it so quiet.

Cons: The USB 3.0 ports in the top of the case have never worked for me. They are plugged in to my motherboard, but they haven't ever worked. I don't know if it is a problem with the case, or the motherboard. That's been a big disappointment. I've owned the case for 2.5 years.

Other Thoughts: This case is big and heavy. The next time I do a build I'm going to be looking at the case first I think to make a small footprint.

5 out of 5 eggsNanoxia Deep Silence 1 is terrific!

Pros: Nice cable hiding. Enermax Liqtech 240 fits at top with plenty of room.

Cons: None so far. I did not encounter any quality issues as others have mentioned.

Other Thoughts: This has become my case of choice for future builds.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Case I've yet Owned

Pros: Sturdy, High-quality build. The chimney is well thought-out to provide top exhaust but still prevent dust or even an unfortunate spill from ruining your computer.

Integrated fan-controller works perfectly and eliminates need to buy a third-party one unless you want more than 6 case fans, which it supports. Fan ports on the controller are each 3-pin.

Plenty of screws, spacers, and accessories included along with a very detailed, verbose users manual in multiple languages,

Modular hard drive cages.

Overall a terrific computer case and I plan on eventually purchasing more when I need to build another.

Cons: In my opinion the three included Nanoxia fans (120mm front, 120 mm front, 140mm back) are indeed very silent even at full power but do not move much air.

My plan is to replace them all with more powerful fans (Noctua is my choice) and utilize the included fan controllers to strike a great balance between sound and airflow levels.

Other Thoughts: One of the very best computer cases available. VERY highly recommended. I could not be more pleased.

1 out of 5 eggsFan Plugs Need Work

Pros: Great Case otherwise. Versatile, well designed (except for the fan plugs). Good price.

Cons: Heavy(I sprang a back muscle picking it up).
The fan plugs are 3 prong plugs and most boards now have MOXE plugs. This makes it impossible for your very intelligent MOBO to control the fans.
The fans run full blast so your MTBF gets lower by a respectable amount (particularly if you leave the machine on 24/7).
AND, nobody in the USA sells the "Nanoxia" adapters to go from 3 prong plugs to 4 prong plugs.
And, if you buy those from England, all of a sudden the DS1 case is not competitive any longer.

That's just my take on it. Everything else about this case is GREAT. SO if the fan plugs are no bother Buy the case.

I just wished somebody had noted this detail.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect in almost every single way

Pros: Very high quality, You expect this kind of quality in a 200+ premium case.

On the exterior it has two 3 channel fan controllers, 2 USB 3.0 ports and 2 USB 2.0 ports, And a very attractive LED switch for power.

Three removable modular hard drive cages, Filled with steel hard drive trays, Not those cheap plastic ones you found in other cases. VERY SECURE.

Accommodates two dual radiators with multiple mounting points! Very thoughtful.

All fan cables are sleeved and use 3-pin fan connector.

The 5 1/4 Tool-less drive bay actually works, Clamps on both sides and very secure!

Removable dust filters everywhere! Easy cleaning!

Cons: The space is tight behind the motherboard tray, A bit hard to close the side panel with the cables running on the back.

Other Thoughts: This case makes other brand such as Corsair look like cheap knock offs.

5 out of 5 eggsSo quiet I forget it is on

Pros: I bought this case to sit in my living room and be able to play steam games and watch my HTPC. I have gone through a few cases trying to find the one that fits all of my needs and I came across this one. It has excellent cooling capabilities even though it is a "silent" case. I can hear the computer if I am playing a game that is using a ton of resources, but if I am watching TV through the pc I tend to forget that the PC is even on.

Cons: It is a rather large case, so it may be hard to "hide".

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Case with 1 flaw

Pros: Very Quiet
Looks very sleek and simple
Heavy - seems to be of good quality

Cons: Wow the screws on this thing were terrible. Threading can get stripped very easily.

ONE BIG FLAW: The side plate opening is not in the correct location. Be sure to install the CPU heatsink/fan before putting the motherboard in.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Quiet Case

Pros: For the price it's a great case. Sleek minimal looking design and lots of features. Look at the other reviews for more details.

Cons: -Like Jay (4/25/2013) one of my fan doors came with a bad latch. Emailed customer service and received a new door 2 days later. Great Customer Service.
-Wish it had a built in card reader, though it comes with a 5.25->3.5 converter and faceplate.

Other Thoughts: - I believe they fixed the USB pop-up panel from previous versions. The one I received has a bar holding the cables creating slack so you dont pull the cables so tight that it restricts the pop-up mechanism.
-There is a hard drive indicator light. The green power button light semi-blinks red during activity
-A little upset Newegg offered the window version of this case the day after I made my purchase. I really like being able to see the components.

Overall I'm really happy with my purchase

5 out of 5 eggsI was never this compelled to write a review.

Pros: The highest quality case for this price range up to 150, Making competition look like cheap knock offs. Where to start, this case is very well made, And a pleasure to build with.

1. Fully modular drive cages, And 100% steel solid drive trays, The drives are VERY SECURE once inside.

2. Tool-less 5.25 drive bays with double side secure and precise locking mechanism (Which I have seen failed countless times on other cases, But Nanoxia did it right).

3. Two dual radiator mounts on the front (with drive bays removed) and top, And multiple mounting locations on top to avoid motherboard heatsinks. Extremely well thought out!

4.They went as far as sleeving all three case fan cables and including solid rubber grommet replacement for the watercooling tube rubber grommets to seal the noise in. What else can you ask for?

5. Case is fully painted fully black inside out, High quality paint too, Not like the cheap ones you see on Corsair or NZXT cases that can be chipped off by tightening the screws.

6. Two integrated 3-channel fan controllers that can control up to 6 fans. The switches for fan controllers are hidden behind the top door.

7. Retractable IO panel (including 2 x USB 3.0) for a clean look.

8. Removable dust filter on bottom, and Front.

9. A slider to open the top chimney if fans installed.

10. Very large routing holes for cable management all covered in rubber grommets.

11. Last but not least, A real manual with color pages and dual language, Which has been missing from many "high end cases".

Cons: Are you kidding me. This case has not cut corner ANY where.

Other Thoughts: German Engineered and Made in China, The perfect product with flawless quality and unbeatable price tag.

5 out of 5 eggsThe last case you'll ever need

Pros: Practically no sound
Cable management is near perfect
Roomy case, easy to build systems in
Fully modular drive bays
Tool-less component installation
Water-cool ready
Sleek and sexy
Neat doodads (the chimney, fan controllers, USB popup)

Cons: A little big and heavy

Other Thoughts: I can't say enough about how awesome this case is. It's got all the good stuff you expect in a case and none of the bad. It's whisper-quiet, has the potential for near-flawless cable management, room, and runs cool enough for most systems.

If I had to criticize, it's that it's a pretty big case. I was a little unprepared for the size, but even if I had known, I'd have still bought it. Also, my drive cages were a little off from being perfectly square, but I think that's happened with pretty much every case I've ever bought, and they're not off-kilter enough to cause any issues.

Buy this case! You won't regret it!
