Turn on German engineering and feel the power.

The Deep Silence 2 Mid Tower Case by Nanoxia, an ingenious Germany manufacturer, delivers an exciting combination of performance, features, and quality. Its minimalist design concept, featuring simple lines and a brushed front panel, conveys an understated aesthetic. Common controls are inconspicuously integrated into the exterior surface, maintaining the linear design flow.

This innovative tower is a great foundation for your next power house, with its ideal system cooling and sensationally low noise levels – especially for the use of high-end PC-systems. It's also characterized by an array of unique features – like ample space, water cooling support, and lavish cable management – so you'll get an amazing experience for your next PC build and in subsequent use.

  • newegg Minimal Noise The guiding principle in the development of the Nanoxia case series is to create cases as quiet as possible at the lowest system temperatures. The side panels and top cover of the Deep Silence 2 are fitted with specially designed, noise-reducing insulation materials to minimize and absorb any noises. The solid front door uses sound-absorbing materials, which contribute significantly to the most effective noise reduction. The left side panel has been lined with a special combination of bitumen and foam for a very efficient reduction of airborne noise emissions. The hard disk drives of the Deep Silence 2 are mounted using a rubber suspension, in order to absorb vibrations that might arise during startup and to minimize annoying background noises. The power supply rests on rubber mounts, with a suspension frame available on the back. The case stands on rubber-suspended feet; vibrations are completely compensated. Two Nanoxia VentCovers on top also serve the function of noise blocking.
  • newegg Intelligent Ventilation System As many as three high-quality Nanoxia Deep Silence fans are preinstalled in the case. Behind the front cover, two 120 mm fans rotate at a maximum of 1,300 RPM. At 14.2 dB(a), the Nanoxia Deep Silence 120mm fans generate an air flow of about 60.1 CFM and a static air pressure of 1.27 mm H²O. A 140mm fan is located at the rear assisting in heat dissipation. Two 120/140mm fans can also be mounted under top cover for extra cooling. Two-channel fan control for up to six fans is included behind the top door, offering the capability to optimize the balance between system temperature and noise levels.
  • newegg Ample Space The Nanoxia Deep Silence 2 case features spacious room to accommodate current high-end components, including an E-ATX motherboard, a graphics card up to 345mm in length, and CPU coolers up to 165mm tall. A specially designed mounting bracket is attached to the HDD cage. The mounting bracket allows the internal assembly of a water cooling system (120- or 240mm radiator), and up to four fans between the HDD cage and the motherboard – all without colliding with the motherboard or power supply. Radiators may thus be cooled without case modifications in a push-pull setup. In conjunction with the two pre-installed 120mm Deep Silence fans behind the front, up to six fans provide for a superior cooling performance of the water cooling system. Four additional rubber hose guides, for external water cooling solutions, can be found on the rear side.
  • newegg Easy Drive Installation The tool-less design for optical drives allows easy and quick installation. A 5.25-inch to 3.5-inch adaptor is included to permit for example the installation of a card reader. The HDD cage can hold up to seven 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch hard disk drives. The hard drives are installed in special mounting carriages, which are designed to be compatible with both 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch devices. A second pair of mounting holes is available to mount the hard disks in the carriages with the connectors pointing to the front, which can be useful if frequent changes of the hard drives are planned.
  • newegg Cable Management The tower offers a lavish cable management system. All openings in the motherboard tray are fitted with rubber guards. Even when using Micro-ATX motherboards, it is possible to hide the cables behind the motherboard tray.
  • newegg USB 3.0 I/O Panel The I/O panel can be found on the top cover of the case, with two USB 3.0, one USB 2.0, mic, and audio connectors for easy connection to peripherals.

2 out of 5 eggsturn on engineering

Pros: Clean roomy interior, good fans, hard drive cage.

Cons: Flimsy side panels, no cable routing space.

Other Thoughts: My expansion cards would not line up and secure with the back panel, the cards would flex. Bad customer service from nanoxia about a filter, any number of companies are better.

5 out of 5 eggsQuiet and very well built but large

Pros: I would highly recommend this case -- it's engineered to be quiet and succeeds. The drive bays are well designed and serve to isolate vibration and noise from spinning drives. Really pleased with this purchase.

Cons: The side panels are difficult to put back on -- the fingers are small and fidgety, and you're likely to miss one, preventing the panel from fitting flush.

It's quite large -- take measurements before buying!

Needs more front panel (actually on the top) USB slots.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Quiet Case

Pros: Quality, Sturdy, Good Packaging, Comes with 3 good quality/quiet fans, Good design, fits my NH-U12S.

Cons: Its heavy. The side panel slipped out of my hands while trying to put it back on the case and it caused a divit on my computer table. My fault, but take this word of caution to hold on to the side walls.

Other Thoughts: For the price, I think this case is DEFINITLY a great deal. I often suffer from buyers remorse but I am satisfied with this case, I feel like every aspect of this case was thought out and designed with COST and SILENCE in mind. SOme German Engineer got his wings for this one.

5 out of 5 eggsA Tank

Pros: Spacious, has room for 8 3.5 drives plus 3 more with adapters.
Well-damped, super quiet when top fans aren't running at full speed.
Has damped covers for unused fan slots to reduce sound even more.
Looks absolutely beautiful, provided you keep your grimy hands off of it.
Well-engineered; every step during installation I noticed features that were clearly designed by a boots-on-the-ground user. I think most cases now are designed by marketers or accountants. Slightly off-topic, but who wants another flimsy pileof plastic trim that might vibrate until you go mad, or 15 flourescent lights that might start humming or introducing noise in your video, network, or even audio?! Just give me an old IBM PC-XT case or a Vendex-turbo tank that weighs 60 lbs and is made of (practically) steel plate, and I would be satisfied.

DVD drive sits behind damped hinged door.

Cons: If you have lots of fans, the top mounts will still be noisy no matter what. I am not sure how, but the case seems to amplify these fans. I think that it is better just to not use them.
Green power button is a lighthouse beacon. No need for night lights.

Other Thoughts: I was unable to mount a 280mm water cooler block in this case. 240mm is max. Other than this, I am 100% thrilled with this case.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent case

Pros: Extremely well engineered. Solid. Fantastic air / dust filters with sliders and trays. Sound dampening everywhere.

This case is a beast and performs well and silently. It has clean lines and good aesthetic in line with a well engineered product

Cons: Had an initial issue with the power button. Powered on the computer via shorting the Motherboard's power on prongs. Emailed nanoxia support and they took care of it.

Side panel is difficult to place on and off. They engineered for an extremely tight seal in order to maximize silence.

Other Thoughts: Nanoxia's support system is simple and slow, but gives quality response once you reach them.

Not mentioned at first glance of this system is the mounts for up to 5 more fans. Two up top, one on the side, and two behind the HDD brackets--likely for liquid cooling.

I highly advise purchase and installation of the extra fans if you're using power hungry and heat producing components like the 7970 GE, let alone two like myself.
