1 out of 5 eggsI/O at top of case shorted out...

Pros: It has a better than average manual.

Cons: There are a dozen cons on this case. But, let me start with my primary complaint. That is the USB connection at the case shorted and blew out the USB portion of my new Asus motherboard.

In addition, the front of the case blocks the air flow from the front fan.

There is more, but why, this is enough to go elsewhere.

Not all stuff from China is junk... In my opinion, this is junk.

Other Thoughts: I dumped this thing and repurchased Master Cooler, Storm Scout II...
And, I love the Storm Scout.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat case, especially for the price

Pros: Great price point, especially considering all the nice features. Beautiful, sleek exterior with a classy matte finish.

-The interior looks just as good, many options for cable management. There are clear markings for where to install stand-offs for motherboard.

-Bitfenix makes a few nice little accessories for it. I also bought a 5.25" optical bay faceplate to blend better.

-The window version has tool-less HDD rack and 5.25" bays. This is nice, but I don't know how often I need to change drives out. This is probably done moreso to look sharp than be functional IMO. They definitely add a more finished look, but I personally am a fan of nice looking bolts. The non-window uses standard hardware I believe.

-It comes with a 2.5" adapter, 2 fans and fan filters. Plenty of places to put extra fans. I like the bottom mounted PSU as well.

Overall, a great choice, especially on a budget. It looks really sharp and feels pretty solidly built. Lots of options to really make it look nice with mods down the road.

Cons: A couple small points, overall the case is pretty solid with the exception of some of the smaller plastic tabs. Mine came with a broken "plastic rivet" holding the window. A number of them appear to be at various stages of breaking. Not terrible as I am just going to stick some hex bolts in instead of the little "rivets for a more rugged look - maybe stainless just for looks.

Also, the tool-less installation is handy, but in order to fit the previously mentioned optical drive cover you have to install the optical drive deeper into the case. This wouldn't be a problem if you're just bolting it in, but the tool-less clips that hold the drive are set at one place only, where the optical drive would sit flush with the front of the case. Not a negative for the case, but really just for the drive cover, and only for the window version anyway.

The HDD rack could use some vibration damping. Again, the tool-less installation is nice, but it doesn't necessarily hold the HDD in such a way as to prevent vibration. Easily fixed with some crafty adhesive backed foam.

Other Thoughts: The only real con is that some of the plastic pieces feel cheap. Really, considering the price that's expected. I may not go with any of the "tool-less" options and just pick up a few screws for mounting my drives.

Seriously, though, the case is really sweet.

5 out of 5 eggsThis is an awesome case!

Pros: I bought this because it simple yet cool looking. I had no idea how cool it was until I unboxed it. The photos don’t do it justice because the exterior of the front and top is like a rubberized surface matte black and just awesome to touch. The inside is roomy and great for cable management. Bitfenix also clearly imprinted on the motherboard back plate markers where to screw on standoffs for your particular motherboard’s form factor .

Cons: The only minor con is Bitfenix failed to include on Shinobi a internal pc speaker wire connector , so you cannot hear your motherboard beep if your mother board does not have on board speaker (such as mine), so I had to acquire one

Other Thoughts: I love this case! I ‘m glad I bought it!

4 out of 5 eggsLove

Pros: I love the look of this case, the size is perfect for where I put it. wealth of expansion slots.

Cons: It's a tight squeeze with a gtx 660ti and the zalman long life bearing fan. If you move the case the side will touch the fan and cause that shredding noise. BUT it only happens for moment and will definitely wake you up.

Other Thoughts: I'm in love with this case.

5 out of 5 eggsTop Quality

Pros: Case is solid, roomy, well-designed.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I used this case for my first ever build, and I have been delighted with it. It has an intuitive setup inside, allowing a builder to hide cables easily, move components in and out simply, and mod as desired.

3 out of 5 eggsDamaged Goods

Pros: Lots of Room, Nice Looks, Plenty of Fan Options.

Cons: Case has some serious cheap plastics. All of the tabs that connect the faceplate and the top bezel to the steel are of subpar quality and were all broken off during shipping. Based on what I observed they were broken way before the case ever hit the UPS facility.

Other Thoughts: I will now have to use my Lian Lee case to complete my build or miss any more RMA's that may arise from other products that are defective on arrival. I am deducting eggs for a cheap product not shipping damages.

5 out of 5 eggslove this case

Pros: -Plenty of space to hide cables
-Paint job is excellent (love the soft touch black)
-Comes with fan filters for front and bottom of the case

Cons: -I only wish the bays in which you place HDDS & SSDS were facing to the outside of the case(side to side) instead of facing the inside (front to back)

Other Thoughts: Case is amazing, it's sturdy, has plenty of room for everything I put into it, and was extremely easy to hide every cable. Very satisfied. This company even has a optical bay drive cover to retain its overall design!

5 out of 5 eggsWould've paid twice as much

Pros: When picking out my case, I chose it based on looks first, features second, and price third. I decided on the Shinobi because it was a great balance of these things.

The first thing that I about the Shinobi was the color options: Black or White. They’re both lovely, but I was brawn to the white since it’s a less common case color, without sticking out in a bad way. The case has a very sleek form factor, with clean lines, a soft power finish (no fingerprints!), and some added texture from the mesh details. The Shinobi comes in Window and non-window versions to see the inside of the case; the Window seems to have slightly better features (tool-less install, etc) and a place on the Window for a fan allows even more ventilation.

While at first I liked the blue strips that come with a white case, I decided to switch them out for another color. Luckily, Bitfenix offers replacement mesh strips (and logos for the front of the case!) in many colors at various online retailers. If you want to make your own custom color (I wanted silver), the strips can be removed from the case relatively easily and spray-painted. Bitfenix also offers Drive Bay covers to camouflage your drives to match the case; I found the hue of my cover did not perfectly match the case. You can read more about that in my review on the cover’s product page.

Size wise, it’s middle of the line for a Mid Tower. I didn’t want anything too bulky to fit comfortably under my desk, but still large enough to fit my GPU (~10.5 in) and allow good air flow. This was the perfect size for me, although you should check the dimensions of your components to make sure this case can accommodate your needs.

The Shinobi is a really lovely case that was a very easy build for my first time (with help ;) ). It offers the right amount of features, is a good size, and the pricing is VERY competitive. I might’ve paid twice as much, if I had to!

Cons: The Power indicator light is a VERY bright blue LED. Like, light-up-a-dark-room bright. It’s impossible not to see in my periphery constantly if I don’t keep it covered. If you plan to bedazzle this thing with a ton of LEDs this might not be an issue for you.

Like another reviewer said, the manual is a bit unhelpful. The case isn’t super complicated, though, so trying a step a couple different ways is usually enough to figure out the right approach

Other Thoughts: As of the time this review was submitted, this item is not currently being offered in White by Newegg. It is still available on other sites if you browse, or you could try inquiring with Newegg if they plan to restock..

5 out of 5 eggsLove it!

Pros: I just love this case. Sweet looking design, enough space for my GeForce 680 and extra power cables shoved in the back.

I came from a Corsair Obsidian Series 800D Full Tower, it was just too big to move around. But this is small and sexy... size doesn't always matter mates ;)

Cons: The stock fans that came with it are kind of weak. Can't really tell if it's actually moving air or not. I just bought some $4 fans and the air flow is nice.

The side panels are really flimsy, If you aren't careful you could damage it. Just handle with care.

Other Thoughts: Installing 2x120mm fans on the top interior is a real tight fit. I would suggest attaching them on the exterior. Or do your cable management before installing the top fans. :P

I'm picky when it comes to Computer Cases, but BitFenix has made something really nice here and I dig it a lot!

5 out of 5 eggsNeeds More Reviews

Pros: I really wish there were more reviews on this case, this is a great case for the price! Just looking at it I am impressed. I like how sleek and classy it looks while still having a bit of a cool factor to it.
Cooling and Lighting: The two fans installed aren’t fancy but useful. I moved the two installed fans to the top as exhaust with colored LED fans in all the other slots. I had thought that the two strips on the sides would show the light through them but they do not. A little light shines out the bottom, and obviously through the window, so I still get to see my green lights. I have had no issues with equipment overheating or even getting near overheating.
Installing Hardware: Being able to take both sides and pop the top and front plates off makes all aspects of building easier. Installing the mobo was nice as it has etched labeled screw holes for all the different mobo sizes. The tool less features for the drive bays work great making installing and removing easy and painless. All of the front mount cords were long enough to work with my Asus mother board. Some cases have issues with the cord length but I was able to route every cord through the cable maintenance and still connect them.
This case is functional, good looking, and easy to use. Perfect for my needs.

Cons: As much as I liked the case a few small things bothered me.
First off, I am a big fan of reading the manual when I get new shinies. Well the manual just has some vague pictures that were difficult to cipher, and mostly a waste of time. What I really needed the manual for is getting the drive adapter that was pre installed out so I could put a blu-ray drive in the first slot as that’s just where I wanted it to be. It was mostly a personal failure though I was too worried about pulling the front off because it wasn’t coming off very easily and I thought maybe I would break it if I put my strength into it. I finally just muscled it off and didn’t break anything. Admittedly, it is easier to remove after the first time though.
The cord maintenance does not allow very much space. I am using a non-modular power supply, in the future I will purchase a modular power supply which should work perfectly with the amount of cord maintenance room. Also where the power supply is in relation to a bottom mounted fan some of the cords have to route over the side of the fan, if I had less cords maybe they would all fit around the side of the fan though.
Another thing that bothers me is the top LEDs I decided to unplug them for now because the blue top LED is painfully bright. That is just a personal preference of mine though.

Other Thoughts: When putting in my new blu-ray drive I was a little upset that it ruined the sleek look of the case. I did however find they created drive bay covers specifically for this problem they run $10-20. If you want one search for model # BFC-SNB-150-ODDK-RP
