Named after some of the most feared assassins of the modern age, Shinobi Window empowers the digital warrior to silently and efficiently dispatch his opponents. Maximum expansion and compatibility with long graphics cards enables you to equip Shinobi Window with the tools you need to get the job done. Superior cooling options allow the system to stay cool and collected during the heat of battle, while a sophisticated yet understated styling shows the opposition you mean business.

Killer Looks

From the uniquely crafted side panel window and fan vents, to the brushed aluminum accents, Shinobi Window carries through the signature BitFenix design philosophy of clean lines, understated elegance, and modern styling. If looks could kill, a glance at Shinobi Window could be your last.

Choose Your Destiny

The stealthy digital warrior must adapt to their environment. Available with or without a windowed side panel, you can choose the Shinobi that blends perfectly with your surroundings. Shinobi Window is also available in white, so whether you choose to walk the path of light or darkness, Shinobi has you covered.

Maximum Expansion

Serious rigs require serious hardware. That's why Shinobi Window is engineered to handle up to three 5.25" drives or eight 3.5" hard disks. You can also install a 2.5" SSD with the included adapter. Best of all, Shinobi Window can easily accommodate long graphics cards, which means that you can outfit it with the hardware necessary to eliminate the opposition.

Efficient Cooling

The effective gaming rig, like the warrior who wields it, must be cool under fire. Shinobi Window is adorned with unique mesh areas that can quickly dissipate excess heat. Shinobi Window can accommodate a bevy of fans - up to seven 120mm or two 140mm fans can be installed to ensure that all hardware stays as cool as the blood running through an assassin's veins.

Plenty of Connectivity

The efficient warrior must have easy access to all the tools they need to get the job done. Equipped with two USB 3.0 ports and two USB 2.0 ports, Shinobi Window offers plenty of connectivity for all your USB devices so that you can keep you gear connected and ready for battle.

DIY Friendliness

Fighting should be done in-game - not with your hardware. The Shinobi Window comes with a wealth of DIY-friendly features, ensuring that getting your system setup is quick and efficient. A CPU cooler cutout makes it easy to change out your CPU cooler should the need arise. Shinobi Window comes with filtered fan intakes, keeping the interior clean and your system looking great. Shinobi Window even comes with convenient tool-free drive locking mechanisms for ultimate convenience.

BitFenix Quality

Shinobi Window comes with all the amenities and design touches characteristic of BitFenix chassis. A luxuriously black coated chassis exudes both quality and refinement. With Shinobi Window, users can experience BitFenix quality both inside and out.

4 out of 5 eggsA fine looking case

Pros: Gorgeous appearance
Good Cable management options
USB 3.0 front panel
no static from front panel audio

Cons: everything else in the box was total garbage (manual, screws, standoffs, etc)

Other Thoughts: First off, this case looks just as sharp (if not sharper) than the pictures make it out to be. The plastic + steel look is really sleek and pulled off very well. I bought this basically for its aesthetics, and in that area it doesn't disappoint.

I found the manual is total garbage. Had to consult Google twice while installing drives to clarify what the manual leaves out. There are extra pieces of metal that need to be snapped out before installing the 5.25" drives (manual makes no mention at all of these, so I thought at first they might somehow be part of the case, since they don't just pop right out). Also, to remove the 5.25" to 2.5" converter, you need to pop the plastic piece off from the front, then slide the entire bracket out through the back (the manual has some vague B.S. like "slide the bracket out."). It's not that big a deal, but it was frustrating to deal with.

The screws and mainboard standoffs included didn't seem to fit each other very well. The standoffs wouldn't fit into the holes in the case (too wide maybe? They wouldn't thumb tighten, I had to use pliers to fasten all the way), then the other end of the standoff was too narrow for the screws. I couldn't get them all the way in, and when I tried unscrewing them, they pulled the standoffs out with them! I ended up using leftover standoffs I had lying around because the ones included were so oddly sized.

Inside the case, everything was great, lots of routes for cables (including a great corner cut out for the 8pin CPU cable that my old case was sorely lacking.) The back panel has plenty of clearance to shut even with a shamefully large nest of cables bundled beneath it. The tool-less and screw-less drive securing mechanisms seem to work really well and are easy to deal with. Longer GPUs might be a tight fit, but you can make it work (especially with the help of 90 degree SATA cables.)

The front panel works great too, no static through the headphone port and it's great to see those blue USB3.0 ports.

Overall, it's a pretty nice case. For the price you pay, I really don't think it should suffer from the problems it does. For a eighty dollars (EDIT: Wow, the price even went up since I wrote this), you really should get some decently machined screws and a properly thought out manual. But even with these issues, I can't say that I don't love it. It really is a beautiful case.

4 out of 5 eggsThe case is 'okay'

Pros: Components fit in the case well, aesthetically it looks great, install was mostly a breeze.

Cons: When the case first arrived everything seemed to work great, it was only until i had finished the build that I noticed a few things. The first thing I noticed is that the top two USB 2.0 connectors don't work, however the 3.0 slots do. Secondly tidying up the cables in the back was somewhat difficult. It was somewhat difficult positioning them so that I could close the back plate.

Other Thoughts: I have had this case for a little over two years now, nothing has gone wrong with it since the day it first arrived.

4 out of 5 eggsSweet case

Pros: Sleek case, it just looks great. Painted interior is a plus in my opinion. Very nice case, haven't built it up yet but I'm very impressed with the condition in which it arrived.

Cons: Power button sticky, I read somewhere that the power buttons on these cases like to stick. After a bit of testing I can say for sure that yes, pressing the button will require a technique of sorts....

Other Thoughts: Will update once I actually build this into the sexy little thing that it'll be.

3 out of 5 eggsNice case, poor support

Pros: The design of the case is very contemporary, with motherboard cutout for easier CPU cooler changes, cable management, etc.

Eight 3.5" drive bays is very cool.

Cons: Support is non-existent.

One of the included 120mm case fan started making clicking noise not long after. Tech support is terrible. It is online only. Once the ticket is open, I got one reply, asking me to upload a video. No matter how I do it, their form rejected any uploads. Is there any video file less than 1MB? I ended up putting it up on YouTube. But I have never heard from them ever again. It's been more than a month, and I still haven't heard anything from the manufacturer.

So if you want to buy from BitFenix, make sure that you make a good bet that you will be keeping it.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Starter Case

Pros: Clean, simple and tasteful design
Solid build quality
Nearly silent with stock fans
Good airflow
Easy cable management
Dust filters on front and bottom intakes

Cons: Front panel audio connection is rather short
Case manual is vague at best
Toolless drive bays can be improved

Other Thoughts: Overall I would recommend this case. It really looks stunning. I wanted something that wasn't an LED-riddled fan-mouthed monster for my first build and this case fits the bill!

2 out of 5 eggsGood Case...if it's all in one piece when you get it.

Pros: It's a nice big case for a moderate price.

Cons: The plastic tabs that hold the front cover can break really easily. I've also heard of usb ports and the power button not working after a little while.

Other Thoughts: All in all, it's seems like a great case if it's intact when you get it. When I got it all the plastic tabs on the front cover were broken. However, the reason for the low score is because Bitfenix's customer support is a joke. I bought this case early February and after one response from them asking for my invoice, I have heard nothing from them. I've also found that they do this sort of thing frequently, where they just stop responding completely. So if you want to take a chance and hope that this case holds together, be my guest. But if you don't want to leave this thing to risk, get another case. I'd love to change this score and a review to a more pleasant one, but until Bitfenix decides to stop giving their customers the silent treatment, I can't change my opinion of them.

5 out of 5 eggsNice case

Pros: I was looking to replace my case that I've been using for the past 8 years. I've been through numerous upgrades except for the case. I wanted a case with bottom mount power supply, USB 3.0, the USB mounted on top of case and without breaking the bank.
This case fit my needs perfectly. The included fans are quiet enough and there's room behind the motherboard for cables. The feel and finish is great. I'd suggest a modular power supply to keep the inside neat and air flowing but not crucial. For the $50 I paid, its worth every penny.

Cons: No cons I've come across

5 out of 5 eggsNice looks

Pros: A great looking case is important because it's the main attraction sitting on your desk. This one definitely fits the bill. The black air vents running down both sides on the front and top can be removed and painted to customize the look.

Most of the negatives about the case when it was first released have been remedied. The case now comes with 2 USB 3.0 ports along with 2 USB 2.0 ports. The feet on the bottom of the case are now must sturdier built and are bolted into the bottom of the case. They get the case high enough off the ground to offer a nice amount of room underneath for venting. Dust covers are included where needed.

Cons: I would like to see the hard drive bays turned around so that they are facing the panel instead of the motherboard. This is a feature you can find in most newer cases. The tool-less design used for the hard drive bays is aged, but works well enough. The dust covers are not the easily removable kind you'll find in newer cases, but they do the job well enough and only require undoing one screw to remove and clean.

Other Thoughts: This case just looks fantastic, and has enough features to justify buying the case on looks alone.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Case when on sale

Pros: - The soft touch finish is very nice
- Conservative good looks
- Nice cable management even though there are no rubber grommets on the openings they are smooth enough to not need them.
- very quite case/fans
- 3.5" tool-less mounting system is nice and simple to use
- plenty of room and easy to build in.
- The interior finish is nice! No sharp corners, no blood shed building my system!

Cons: - The manual is a little light on information. It could use some more detail on the tool-less mounting systems
- I don't like the feel of the 5.25" mounting system. I have a Creative X-fi front audio panel that wiggles a little. If the mounting system was on both sides like the 3.5" system there would not be a problem. This is a little quip but a con just the same.
- The stand offs and some of the screws that come with the case are low quality and didn't work very well.
- The bottom dust filter seems like it will be susceptible to damage if the case is moved around on carpet.

Other Thoughts: Overall I am very happy with this case especially because I got it for $50.00 on sale. I was not considering getting this case until I saw it for that price. I really liked the cable management. The holes were well placed and plenty big and the space between the motherboard and the side panel was wide enough to take quite a tangle of cables. I have a large ribbon cable going from my sound card to a front panel audio panel and the holes and space behind the motherboard swallowed it up no problem.
