On the inside, the modular FlexCage gives you the flexibility to install up to five 3.5" hard disks or 2.5" SSDs, or remove it entirely to fit up to 240mm watercooling radiators and long graphics cards. For added flexibility, additional SSD locations are also included, and a choice of Midnight Black or Arctic White with interchangeable front facades mean Prodigy will suit your individual style. With tool-free convenience, two USB 3.0 ports, filtered intakes, and unique BitFenix SofTouch Surface Treatment, Prodigy is the compact case with no compromises.

With multiple installation options, Prodigy is a small case that truly does it all.
  • newegg FyberFlex Composite Technology Both the top and bottom handles of Prodigy are made from BitFenix FyberFlex Composite - a revolutionary material that is not only flexible, but incredibly strong. 5 out of 5 eggsBitFenix Prodigy Review

Pros: Looks like a mini G5 but no OSX :D
Cute.
Lots of inside space for mini ITX.
Removable HDD cage.
Lots of cooling options.
Enough room for a Hyper 212 Evo.
Cute.

Cons: Too cute to handle.

Other Thoughts: Relatively expensive for mini ITX, but has a high quality finish as well as expandability not found in other ITX cases.
Did I mention it's cute?

4 out of 5 eggsKinda big...

Pros: Lost of room, will fit a 200 mm fan, top 4 hard drive bays come out to fit a full size graphics card and still have two bays.

Cons: Kinda big, not much smaller than a standard store computer. Gives the mother board no justice. Power supply area is kinda tight. If you plan on using a cd/dvd drive, it will take up one of the fan mounting areas on top of the case. Handles are of some sort of rubber or plastic, seems that a lot of weight in the case could make it brake.

Other Thoughts: Not quite what I was expecting but it will do.

3 out of 5 eggsSmall detail, big problem

Pros: Everything about this case astonishes me. The portability, dependability, versatile, and just the sheer beauty of it.

Cons: There is only ONE problem I have with this case regarding the power supply cage. How does BitFenix expect you to route modular power supply cables through the case if there is a wall covering the back end of the PSU cage? Even with the hard drive bay taken out (I only use 1 240 GB SSD) there is still NO room to put my cables through. BitFenix is just plain dumb right here. Not everyone has a cheap, non modular PSU. I'm using a SeaSonic X-850. There is NO way to get my modular cables through, especially since my PSu is 150mm deep. Way to impress, Bitfenix......

5 out of 5 eggsModular, impressive, and easy

Pros: -Modular hard drive bays: remove what you don't need, rotate to desired position
-Removable optical bay
-Accommodates fan mounting in rear, top, and front, most of which are 120-140mm or larger. Room for multiple radiator setup
-'Feet' at bottom of case help keep computer off the ground for better ventilation
-Easy install: I can get to all sides easily, no acrobatics.
-PSU area is isolated and allows for some cable management
-Clean look

Cons: -Could be better clearance when mounting the motherboard screws (More on this in 'Other Thoughts')
-PSU area is a bit small. NOT ALL POWER SUPPLIES WILL FIT. READ BELOW!!!
-Handles are plastic, wish they were more reinforced or made of metal

All very minor issues that I can easily live with!

Other Thoughts: Probably the best case I've ever owned. Amazingly flexible accommodations and build quality feels great.

It's a fairly stocky, wide case, which I wasn't expecting, but that's my fault for not measuring.

The big boon for this case is that they thought of just about every mounting possibility possible, and managed to pull off decent cable management abilities. The top section allows for two 120mm filtered fan positions, with enough room for a single-length radiator, or double-length when you remove the optical bay. The front allows for a 120mm fan, but you can go up to dual fans or stick a whopping 230mm if you remove the optical bay. Another spot for a 120/140 at the rear, and filtered venting at the bottom to help out a standard fan-cooled PSU. the two HDD cages allow an insane amount of drives in such a small case, or can be removed if you don't want them. SSD mounting can go in the cages, mount to the floor under the bottom cage, or there's room for two on the back wall.

What I liked best is that this case allows me to have support for my Corsair H60 (which I could probably have room for push/pull), plus room for an Arctic Accelero's radiator, and still not be crammed.

I wish the handles were the same steel as the rest of the case, or at least thicker, because I don't like how they bend - I'm worried I will lean on the case and snap a handle. Maybe it's just me.

When I was mounting the motherboard, I had trouble getting a screwdriver in place to screw the board in place. There is *just* enough room to fit a standard size Craftsman screwdriver, but you have to bring it in at an angle and then stand the tool up once you have it inside the case. My motherboard, an ASUS P8Z77-I Deluxe, has a daughterboard on one side, which is incorporated into the mounting holes. I had to use a flexible-head screwdriver in order to get these screws tightened to the case's mounting plate

Yes, the PSU area is not as deep as it could be. I think they did this because they allow you to mount two SSDs between the PSU area and the bottom HDD cage, but I would rather see them omit that option and push that wall out for more PSU space (after all, there's an ungodly abundance of room for SSDs in other locations). Anything over a 160mm depth PSU will not fit. A 160mm full-modular PSU will be crammed, but does work. I am successfully using a SeaSonic SS-520FL.

BitFenix is very proud of their product, and they offer some great FAQ and how-to videos on youtube, which was helpful in making sure everything fit.

2 out of 5 eggsNot very clever

Pros: Looks pretty.

Cons: Designed was basically ripped off the Mac Pro and made smaller. Too bad they didn't copy any of the Mac Pro's cleverness. The expansion slot has three screws for some reason, two of which are hard to operate. The hard drive mount needs to be flipped and a large video card will prevent you from installing the full amount of hard drives because it can block the power adapters. It doesn't fit a 16mm power supply and a 14mm modular power supply still requires a lot of forcing. The case is heavy and pretty big for a mini-itx case. The hard drive mounting brackets are the most difficult I've ever used, and they wobble when installed.

Other Thoughts: I wish I knew how big and heavy this thing was before I bought it. Doesn't even fit my gaming components well, so it's basically a compromise that makes everything worse

4 out of 5 eggsMostly good

Pros: It's got character. Generally plenty of room inside. Hard drive mounting options out the wazoo and room for a huge graphics card. Standard height optical drive space.

Cons: The handles, while made of some sort of rubberized plastic, are rather sharp and I would not want to carry this very far with bare hands.
One side panel is slightly warped, hard to put on but once the thumbscrew is in you don't notice.

Other Thoughts: It's really big, makes the Sugo7 case used for my other itx system look like a mouse. I would probably go back to a smaller case like the Sugo if I build another itx system. The size of this thing kind of defeats the purpose of an itx system.

Get a power supply with a max length of 140 mm.

4 out of 5 eggsVery Versatile Case!

Pros: -Plenty of room for large graphics cards
-Sturdy Case, thick metal
-Looks great, consistent paint job throughout
-very mod friendly, gets the imagination going

Cons: -Side panels slightly warped, not noticeable when on case
-slight wobble because of the stand design, would be better without but I've had no issues so far with the case on carpet

Other Thoughts: If you want to use a modular PSU then it either needs to be really short or you'll need to cut the PSU compartment open to allow some extra room. I bought the non modular TX650 and cable management is a little tough, no problem if you can get creative with zipties!

5 out of 5 eggsIts the Tardis in computer form

Pros: This case is great. Working in this case is like working in the Tardis - bigger on the inside then the outside.

Cons: None really except to get in the radiator you need to lose the only 5.25 bay available.

Other Thoughts: Its heavier than I though, but its amazing.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat not so little case

Pros: Very slick, nice storage options, fan options are awesome.

Cons: Power supply compartment is cramped with a standard ATX PSU.

Other Thoughts: Great case although i wish that the top radiator mounts had plates to install in them if you aren't using a 2x120mm rad. USB 3.0 front panel cable was barely long enough to reach header. All in all a good case, and easier to assemble than I planned.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Case

Pros: Very sturdy and springy case. I've dropped it up from 2/3 inches (empty) and it absorbs the shock amazingly well. The legs look flimsy but are definitely not and can withstand much more force than I would have expected.

It also had USB3 right on the case which is awesome for new components coming out.

Very customizable and full of space for whatever crazy components you'd want to fit in (water cooling, raid controller, etc).

One of my favorite parts of the case is the dust filters that go over where the fans are. They're very simple to remove and look great!

Cons: The case was wider than I expected it to be (same height with the legs as my mid tower, and an 1.5 inches wider) and the front audio/usb ports are on the side of the case.

Other Thoughts: I would fully recommend this case for anyone looking for a mini-itx tower that is either moved frequently or want a smaller form factor without giving up what to put into it.

This case will be part of my LAN gaming system and will be perfect with it's shock absorbance and durability. It also has a great finish to it!
