The award winning Define R3 with USB 3.0 combines minimalistic yet elegant styling with extraordinary performance, noise reduction features, premium build quality and unparalled value in this price range. This mid-tower case is a great choice for everything from gaming/enthusiast systems to silent home theater and corporate applications. The R3 comes pre-fitted with dense noise absorbing bitumen material on the front, top and side panels. The exclusive ModuVent System provides three 5.5”X 5.5” panels which also have noise absorbing material; these panels can be removed to expose three air vents for additional fans for high air flow applications. Rubber padding on the case feet, and anti-vibration pads for the power supply and HDDs also help reduce noise.

The cleverly designed, (8) black HDD trays, with black silicone mounting grommets, can be used for 3.5” HDDs or SSDs. The spacious sleek black interior can support graphic cards up to 290 mm and CPU coolers up to 165mm high. If cooling becomes more of a priority, this system can support up to 7 fans with removable filters to provide airflow from 5 sides of the case. The case also includes several rubber grommeted routing holes and extended cable space behind the M/B mounting plate which allow for efficient cable management. The bottom of the case has a filter over the power supply which can be easily removed for cleaning.

It's easy to see why this case has won so many awards; the attention to detail, clever design, high-performance features, understated yet elegant style, quality workmanship, and unparalled value, put the Define R3 in a class of its own.

5 out of 5 eggssilent and cool

Pros: Case runs very silent, and very cool.
Very beautiful to look at, on the exterior and interior.
White cosmetics and finish on the exterior, and black drive bays, rubber grommets, cables, makes the case an awe to look at; makes you appreciate the effort the creator went through to make it a minimalist case.
Case temps are 33c, peak temps are around 50c. CPU temps dropped from 42-45 idle to 29-34 idle (stock cooler). GPU temps idle around 39 and peak around 60. (Coming from an antec 900)
Wire management is a pleasure to work with, gives you enough room in the rear for your non modular cables. (Although you might have to sit on it to get it closed)
Very easy to work with hardrives, just pinch and release.
Plenty of room for your gpu. I still have roughly over an inch and a half for my long gpu. Crossfire is also an option in the future, very roomy to work with.
Anti-vibration padding for platters, power supply, and dust filters for power supply and front intake fans.

Cons: Left and Right side of case clips are easily bendable, had a rough time closing the case because it got bent while attempting the first few tries. Easily fixable with pliers, just don't bend them too much otherwise it'll snap.
Top 5.25 bay installation requires a little bit of force, felt like it was going to snap.
Only one set of screws for a 2.5" bays (it came with).
Front I/O audio isn't working correctly, but not going to rma the case when I can simply use the rear ones. Front I/O was working correctly until I closed the left side of the case. Must have pulled something, but definitely am NOT opening that left side for a while. Non modular cables suck.
These are minor quirks, so I don't think it deserves an egg to be taken off. Every design comes with a few flaws.

Other Thoughts: Overall I'm very impressed with this case. As a computer technician I don't want to come home to more platters and fans spinning... I get enough of that at work. After doing hours of research and newegg recommending me cases I decided to go with this one. I am very pleased with the results so far.
This is one of the cases I would highly recommend if you're looking for a silent and cool solution.

Pros: Above.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I forgot to mention before that with the ModuVent insntalled and all of the other sound deadening material, this case is silent!

5 out of 5 eggsWonderful case

Pros: Solid build quality. Front USB 3.0. Great cable managment.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: First bought the black R3. This is my second one and decided to go with the white. It is beautiful in person, and the black accents inside really stand out. Sexy case!

5 out of 5 eggsNear perfect case

Pros: Quiet design, quality build. Lots of fan options. Dust filters. 8 3.5" (+ 2.5") HD trays. cable routing options.

Cons: Only very minor things. Don't like the Red LED - looks like my case is in error mode. Wish it had an eSATA port on top.

Other Thoughts: Its a very near perfect case, large and heavy but great sound dampening and easy and pleasant to build in.

5 out of 5 eggsQuiet high performance case.

Pros: First desktop case I've had to purchased. 100% satisfied with my purchase.

No flashy LEDs like most cases out there.

Quiet fans (moved the two case fans to the front, have two GELID Silent PMW fans, one for CoolerMaster 212+ EVO CPU cooler (fits in this case) and the other for the rear exhaust).

Great look.

Sound adsorbing material does its job and coupled with the moduvents and front drive bay swing door is a very quiet case.

I have my fans set to level 3 with my ASUS Extreme4 Gen3 motherboard and it does a great job. Not silent, but near at idle.

Paint job is high quality and doesn't easily scratch or peel.

Cons: The two fans this case comes with exhibit more noise in the form of very faint clicking than the GELID fans I purchased.

Wish it were a bit better suited for cable management. Better routing holes around the motherboard. More cable tie points under the motherboard would have been extremely helpful. I had to use electrical tape to secure many cables.

The front panel 3.5mm audio jacks seem a bit cheap. Not really a high quality feel for them. Doesn't hold a headphone plug very well and can sometimes cause it to pop out a little causing your audio to cut out temporarily. That is very disappointing for me.

The metal tab and channel design that holds the side panels on in a bit weak. I had the misfortune to bend those tabs when I tried to put the panels on without getting it perfectly lined up. Had to bend them back.

Wish I could remove part of the HDD cage. I only have a HDD and SSD.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Case!

Pros: I picked up this case for my first build and am very happy with this product. I love the white, this makes it different than most pre-built machines. There's lots of room, and it's very easy to install pretty much everything.

Cons: The fan controller is a nice addition, but put together cheaply. I was really nervous when the 3 fans I connected to it weren't working, and it turned out it was because the socket that you connect a set of wires to were loose.

5 out of 5 eggsThis case is great

Pros: This case impressed me at every step of the installation. High quality look, I would buy again definitely. Comes with easily removed noise insulation, liquid cooling ready. Plenty of space for moving around as well.

Cons: Could benefit from another fan, but for the price it doesn't really matter.

3 out of 5 eggsSmells

Pros: Thumb screws instead of regular. Front door (this one is very nice for a case). Nice look.

Cons: The plastic front is a paler color than the rest of the case.

Uses screws instead of Lian-Li style locking mechanism for pci cards.

But the biggest problem of all is that the case smells. It off gases pretty badly and if it hasn't stopped in a few days I will be sending it back.

The paint scratches too easily.

And latches are better than screws that can strip out easily any day.

I will probably just have to buy a noisy case and deal with it.

Part of the base of the HD tray is bent upward. Although this isn't enough of a reason to send it back, it really shouldn't be bent up like that. My bet is they are using some VERY cheap labor to produce these.

Also, I would have preferred the feet on the bottom of it to be solid black rubber instead of this rather el cheapo looking plastic with chrome on it. It looks tacky and poorly made and a piece already flecked off one of the feet.

Other Thoughts: The build quality is not what I'd hoped for.

I will probably go Lian-Li or Antec next time.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat!

Pros: Silent! I have four 120mm Cougar fans in the case (removed stock fans) airflow is also very nice.

Cable management couldn't be better.

Looks great on my desk. Paint is very glossy.

Cons: My only complaint is that the routing hole for the CPU 8pin is more centered up top, rather than right next to the rear IO panel where it normally is. Minor issue.

Other Thoughts: i5 2500k
Asrock P67 Fatal1ty Pro
8GB Gskill Ripjaws
Crossfired 2GB 6950s (fit perfecly)
Corsair H60
Corsair AX850
Corsair Force GT 120GB SSD
1TB WD Black HDD

5 out of 5 eggsGreat case

Pros: My friend and I purchased two of these cases, one white and one black. I ordered the white one and I have to say the paint on it is very nice quality. I really like that this box uses actual screws to keep things down no plastic clips or anything fancy. Plenty of space for everything I needed

Cons: None that I can think of
