4 out of 5 eggshella cool

Pros: all around beautiful. cant go wrong with this case. unless your hardware is too big...

Cons: some paint is missing, very very small amounts in the rear, and it feels like the thumbscrews were stripped on the back too.

Other Thoughts: so sexy

5 out of 5 eggsBest case I've dealt with

Pros: The Fractal Design Define R4 is the best case I've had the opportunity to work with. It has good look, great layout, and very quiet presents.

The look is clean and minimalistic which is perfect for the application for which it is being used (audio recording/editing PC). Initially, was going to get the black version but it was sold out and am glad it was as the titanium grey face adds a bit flare with out going over board on the case's over all look. The power button also lights up with a blue ring around it when on which I also like.

The usability of this case is like none I've ever dealt with before. It is able to support a plethora of fan configurations as well as an absurd amount of hard drive mounting point (I guess something you'd need if you where building a raid setup) that can either lift in or taken out as needed. The two drive racks (5 - 3 slot config) could even both be taken out and have an SSD mounted to the inner wall of the case. The fans can be mounted in the front within a removable rack making it easy to remove and clean. There is also a removable screen that can be easily cleaned. Mounting points for fans are also located in the bottom (which also has a removable screen), side panel, back, and top. If liquid cooling is of any concern to you it will pretty easily support a H100i (as well as other systems i'm sure - this is the one this system incorporates). My favorite part is the cable management as they can be routed behind the motherboard between the motherboard mounting plate and the side panel. This give you vary clean and open interior layout - great for air flow.

As far as noise goes, there is none. The only time i hear this system is when it is first turned on and the fans attached to the radiator are cranked up to full power during POST. Other than that, it is whisper quiet.

Overall, I'd recommend this case to anyone. Functionality is second to none and the noise reduction is superb. Some might think it is bland but I'd recommend you give it a shot as I think the clean look and design will grow on you with a pleasant surprise.

Cons: The only downside is that i wish i could which out a few of the hard drive slots for few optical drive bays but that is only a minor complaint as they seem to becoming less and less needed.

Other Thoughts: I would buy this case again and again - as many custom builds I do would allow. A++

5 out of 5 eggsGREAT FREAKEN CASE

Pros: One of the most popular cases out there. Fractal makes the best cases ever i swear. I used to be one of those fools who fell for the complex cases that were designed strangely with random textures and LED lights everywhere. But i LOVE this case.

Its simple, sleek, well built, solid, very durable. and all around extremely well built. It has sound proof on the chassis's which is incredible and it's super silent. The case isn't anything flashy, which I find to be completely fine, i don't care for flashy cases anymore. I would recommend this case to anyone building a computer.

Plenty of room for extra fans and CPU cooling as well as good room for cable management. Perfect case for routing your cables anywhere. Case comes with all your screws and such and you won't need to hunt for anything else.

Cons: The only thing is kind of a con is that it's heavy and pretty big in size. However those are pretty minor cons.

5 out of 5 eggsSimply Impressed

Pros: I heard of Fractal from the modding community being one of the better cases... but I am very impressed to the attention to detail Fractal has put into this case.

Everything is very Simplistic making it easy to assemble / disassemble.

It has load of HDD space! + some more!

Love the sound dampening material.

Front Portion of case is an easy push screw design.

Came with 2x fan filters! (front / bottom)

Cool feet! didn't even know it had feet until i saw them.

Great air flow, although missing upper fan in front portion of the case.

very easily disassembled!
great design of the HDD bay

Cons: only a couple of things I noticed, but not knocking an egg off.

1. no 3rd fan (upper front)
2. all fans on this case are 140mm (120mm are more universal)
3. had to offset the Corsair H100i to accommodate space requirements. however the case has holes designed for this offset, but I can still see the radiator is offset (visually).

4. instead of a fan port, perhaps a window? on the CPU side of the case?

5. Too much HDD space. (not knocking an egg off for that, but I think it's overkill for an Mid Tower).

Other Thoughts: Didn't realize the MB mounting screws came with an attachment (until later) and the mounting screws were not seating properly, my advice is, a machinist would not have made such a terrible tap for those MB mounting screws. but instead an attachment is given? ... invest in a couple of decent machinist, and you won't have to get a "thread assist-er"

Bottom (filter) is only 120mm would be great if we could take the bottom HDD bay out, and install a 240mm Rad!
*Can take the bottom HDD bay out with ease, but only 120mm opening is cut out.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid, Cold and Quiet

Pros: Long and wide, more than sufficient space. Quiet fans, sound deadening insulation, dust blocking screens over the fans, partially tool-less design, good cable management. Very sturdily made.

Has a nice appearance.

Cons: Heavy, which comes from it being made so sturdily. Not easy to lift and move around.

The one I received came with a scratched power button and one of the rubber feet came off and had to be put back on.

Other Thoughts: Really solid case, nice and quiet. Even the front door panel has solidity and weight, though be careful not to lift the case by it.

Normally you don't need as much space as this case offers and takes up, it's the opposite of the movement towards small and compact. This is good for a cool and silent PC build.

The USB ports on the top of the case it would be good to get some caps for to keep the dust out.

The power LED is blue. The case in the advertisements looks dark grey -- normally, not under strong light, it looks black, except for the front panel.

5 out of 5 eggsLove this case

Pros: Bought this case for my wife's new computer. It's simply the best case I've ever worked on. Everything is sound insulated, even the inserts for unused vents. It's nice and sold, has tons of room for everything, nice cable management, even the post holes are marked for different sizes of motherboard. This case just speaks quality in every way possible.

Cons: The case is a bit wide for a mid-size case. Also if you're using a radiator in the top vents you also need to be mindful of any heat sinks on the motherboard.

5 out of 5 eggsOne of the best!

Pros: Quiet, Case fans included are pretty quiet as well. Very large case with ALOT of room for cable management. Sweet dust filters to help keep some dust out of the case.

Cons: Only con I can think of is the VERY bright LED power light. But hey, it can be used as a flashlight if you really need one! ;)

Other Thoughts: One of the best cases I've ever owned. Would recommend this case to anyone.

5 out of 5 eggsGiant Case

Pros: Very roomy
2 USB 3.0 Ports on the front, plus 2 USB 2.0, awesome
Looks good
Very solid, very quite, can hardly hear it running even with HDD in read/write
Very easy to mount HDD and ROM Drives. HDD mounts have rubber noise dampeners.
Very good cord management inside the case

Cons: Bright blue light on power switch can be seen from space, in the day time. Manufactures: STOP using these stupid blue LEDs. They are way too bright for use in a dark room.
Mid ATX case is much larger than any of my FULL ATX cases. Lost my motorcycle, found I had left it parked in my Mid ATX case! Roomy, but HUGE.
Minor nitpicking: The side door is very heavy (because it is noise resistant). It is difficult to get on and off easily. It uses the standard slide back a bit to remove technique, but I can't really get it off and on easily. This is very minor, but an annoyance.
Only two CD ROM slots on the front of the case. Most ATX cases have many more. This could be a problem for someone who needs more than 2.

Other Thoughts: Long list of cons on this case, but they are all VERY minor and I still think this is a 5 star case. I'm extremely happy with everything, except the power switch LED issue. I had planned to put this in a location where it is often dark. The LED is far too bright for that and can't easily be disabled because it is powered by the power switch. I'm thinking black tape might be the solution... which is silly.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Case

Pros: Plenty of cable management space.
Silent.
Highly modular.
Plenty of space for additional HDD/SSD.
Heavy.

Cons: Fan controller shorted out, which requires me to plug the case fans directly into the MB. Not a big deal though, still 5/5.

Other Thoughts: I built my new rig about a month ago. My cooler didn't come on time so I had to use the stock for my 4670k. Everything completely fine until I installed my aftermarket cooler. After that the fans no longer turned on unless plugged into the MB. Not sure what happened with that.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat all around case for beginners

Pros: very roomy, allows for easy cable management. very easy to use for beginners.

Cons: the SSD mounts on to the mobo which is good but you have to put the SSD on BEFORE the mobo which is not ideal

Other Thoughts: I would buy this again and I would recommend to a friends.
