4 out of 5 eggsGreat case for horizontal office computer

Pros: Looks great, good fit and finish on interior and exterior, decent airflow, very quiet. You can fit a micro ATX motherboard, fullsize video card, full size ATX power supply and a slim optical drive, but it will be tight. Also has nice chassis fan switch on one side that controls both fans and its pre wired.

Works better than the apevia X-master, I have 2 builds on each one.

Cons: Fairly cramped if you use any normal sized video card and the optical drive. Also the optical drive sits up about 1" off the bottom with nothing below it, so they could have just as well placed a full 5.25" slot. Fairly poor cable management, ie, there is no cable management. I used a few zipties and screw to the bottom of the case but its just a mess between the video card and power supply

If you use an optical drive you need a slimline sata to regular sata adapter for the small power connection, but most adapters are too long. you need one that has a short block with a cable attached so you can make the connection, I used this one, it worked fine.
StarTech 6-Inch Slimline SATA to SATA Female/Male Adapter with Power (SLSATAADAP6)

Other Thoughts: Some people complained about no room for a video card, and I don't know why, mine fit fine, I used a GTX 960 and it fit, a little tight, but there is still a couple of inches left between the case and card for cables.

I do wish they had given this case and extra inch or two in depth to make room for the optical drive and power supply

5 out of 5 eggsWell designed case with good sound insulation

Pros: - Good sound insulation. The hard drive rails have rubber feet and the case comes with special screws to dampen hard drive noise. The case has a material glued to the inside that muffles vibrations.
- It looks really good, with just a power button on the front.
- Setup is easy, with loads of room.
- Nice fan controller on the outside of the case.

Cons: -Getting in and out of the case requires a screwdriver, not hand turned screws.

5 out of 5 eggsLooks great!

Pros: Looks fantastic. Great quality feel to it. Fitted an SLI setup in there!

Cons: Air flow isn't great and cable management can be a problem.

Other Thoughts: Went from a Corsair Carbide Air 540 to this and the air flow is obviously not as good. The fans on my GPUs kick in much sooner which makes the PC louder. But I wanted something more compact and modern looking and this fits the deal!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Nice case with ample room inside to work. Has sound dampening material on the top to keep noise to a minimum. Drive cages keep HDDs out of the way of other components.

Cons: Hard to put in the slim ODD as the power supply butts right up to the bottom of the device. Also you need a slim line SATA converter to full size SATA to connect to the slim ODD. Biggest HSF that fits is a 92mm vertical HSF.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: - Quiet (seemingly engineered for that purpose)
- Sleek exterior appearance
- Sturdy build and fairly well engineered
- Good directional air flow design
- One of few ATX HTPC case options

Cons: - Poor cable routing/management options, impedes airflow
- Drive mounting becomes tedious in cable management with all drive bays occupied

4 out of 5 eggsbeautiful case

Pros: Beautifully minimalist, compact, quiet, very well designed.

Cons: Motherboard tray relief extends TOWARD the motherboard, creating cpu-backplate-fitment issues.

Considering that there isn't anything under the tray, I don't see why Fractal opted to push the relief UP into an already crowded area, instead of DOWN into open-space.

Other Thoughts: Existing fan configuration is good for filtration, but should be re-arranged for better airflow characteristics (one in, one out)

5 out of 5 eggsHigh quality

Pros: Very good build quality, great htpc case. Impressed with Fractal Designs.

Cons: If you are planning on shutting this in an entertainment center or having it in a nook, depending on your hardware, you may need to put a fan behind the machine to exhaust the hot air out of the "nook" or cabinet it is in. I would not fault Fractal for this though.

Also, when I was putting the machine together, one of the main board standoffs sheared right off its threads. I had to drill the threads out. Luckily I had extra standoffs.

5 out of 5 eggsReally Nice HTPC Case

Pros: This case replaced a Lian-Li HTPC case that I had I needed to go with something shorter than what I had for a new TV stand. Comparing this to the Lian-Li both are exceptional cases. The Lian-Li gets the edge on layout and aesthetics while I would give the Fractal case the edge on build quality. The Fractal case I did not have any stripped out screw holes as I did with the Lian-Li out of the box. Also thought it was nice that the Fractal case has a noise cancelling coating on the underside of the case top cover. Makes the HTPC really quiet.

Cons: Compared to the Lian-Li I feel like the hard drive trays are a little flimsy. The drives are suspended next to each other and while in the frames they can wiggle and bump against each other when putting in or removing them from the case.

Other Thoughts: Overall this is a great case with a wonderful design. I would recommend this case to someone looking to build an HTPC.

4 out of 5 eggsBeautiful

Pros: It houses my htpc/plex server just nicely. Looks beautiful and very quiet. It was relatively easy to build in and cleaning dust from the fan intakes is pretty quick.

Cons: Difficult cable management. I have a non modular power supply in it and it's not the prettiest, and I had to take out one of the hanging hard drive cages to manage everything. Small gripe, honestly. Requires a slim dvd/blu-ray drive. Come on, the case is big, it would have fit a 5.25 inch drive with very little rearranging.

Other Thoughts: It's huge. I would not get this unless you are comfortable with a giant media case wherever you plan on putting it. That's not really a bad thing if you're planning on storing media locally. I could see this computer being used for builds other than htpcs.
