4 out of 5 eggsOne of the best inexpensive cases

This review is from: Fractal Design Core 3300 (FD-CA-CORE-3300-BL) Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Price - just $49.99 for a very solid cae
Lots of room to work
Plenty of clearance for a 140mm tower cooler
Sturdy
Good cable management
Add in card slot covers
Two options for SSD placement

Cons: No USB 2.0 front headers. This was for a an older AM3 build and my motherboard doesn't support front USB 3.0. Left me reaching around to the back to plug them in. Also, the motherboard standoffs were the absolute worst I've ever dealt with. The holes on the motherboard tray were drilled too small and it was impossible to finger tighten many of the standoffs. Had to use pliers. Plus the case is slightly misaligned and any cards (GPU in particularly) had trouble being fully seated in the motherboard as a result.

Other Thoughts: It has many pluses and nice ideas, but the cheap cost seems to have meant corners were cut in the manufacturing. While a sturdy well designed case the misalignment of the card slots in relation to the motherboard placement and the difficulty in screwing in the standoffs meant one egg taken off.

5 out of 5 eggsI Love It!

This review is from: Fractal Design Core 3300 (FD-CA-CORE-3300-BL) Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Roomy - Sensible - Well-planned - PSU in-the-basement - Attractive

Cons: Doesn't turn on with voice commands

Other Thoughts: Actually, I don't love it - I like it thoroughly.
Love is a word I should reserve to something
that can love me back. Like the Tin Man,
this unit only needs a heart

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Fractal Design Core 3300 (FD-CA-CORE-3300-BL) Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Bought this case almost a year ago and it does not disappoint.
Alternate HD mounting allows for great airflow and plenty of space.
Includes just enough screws for proper installation.
Plain and simple, but performs its function perfectly.

Cons: The case lights are very bright. For my purpose, I did not plug them in at all.
The instructions are terrible.
The cables that come with the case (USB, LED, buttons) are almost too short.

Other Thoughts: The cons aren't enough for me to not consider this an excellent case. Please take note of the cable length though. If my connections had not been on the edge of the board, there could have been a problem here.

5 out of 5 eggsGREAT design

This review is from: Fractal Design Core 3300 (FD-CA-CORE-3300-BL) Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: LOTS of room for all your stuff. The extra width is used to offset everything from the side panels, so you can go WILD with cable management, provided your cables are long enough.Coolest hard drive mounting system I've ever seen. Instead of the traditional cage, it's more like a ladder, or something. The mount is essentially a flat strip of metal to which you attach the drives, allowing optimum airflow by not caging them You just screw them on to the side of it, using the rubber grommets...stairway to storage! Runs cool and quiet.

Cons: Maybe a bit large, but that's how you get all the extra room. SSD mounting arrangement could have been a little better thought out, but still nice.

Other Thoughts: Very well constructed, elegantly designed LARGE case which still manages to be unobtrusive as my HTPC. Runs cool and quiet (never over 50C for ANYTHING) with only a front 140mm case fan blowing in and exhaust from the 120mm on the far side of my Corsair radiator and my graphics card. (Asus M5A97 Rev. 2.0, FX-6300, 32GB DDR3, Radeon R9- 270, 600W PSU) Grille on bottom with removable filter allows PSU to "breathe" outside the case.

4 out of 5 eggsSo close

This review is from: Fractal Design Core 3300 (FD-CA-CORE-3300-BL) Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: What you see is what you get for a great price. I like as few 5.25 external bay but at least one - this case only had 2 (nobody needs more than that). The rest of the space is for all disk drives. Buttons on top are nice as mine is near the floor and not on a desk. Sleek front. Place for 2 fans in the front for all my disk drives.

Cons: Its cheap because where the disks are mounted is very minimal. A place for three 3.5 drives and for three 2.5 drives - awkwardly mounted flush with the mounting point. Fortunately there is plenty of room underneath the mounting bar to drill my own holes and mount single file. Able to get nine 3.5 drives and the three 2.5 drives - much better if you can drill holes. The case is wider.

Other Thoughts: Definitely make sure you get a case with a PS on the bottom. This case started out as a disaster for the drives I have, but able to customize to hold a ton. So it works out with some work. I wanted a 120x2 vent on top for the liquid (case can can handle 140x2 if your mobo is low on that end). I have 2 fans in front, 1 in the back and the 2 for the liquid - place for one at the bottom but i dont need it. Plan on getting 1 extra fan.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat case

This review is from: Fractal Design Core 3300 (FD-CA-CORE-3300-BL) Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: -lots of space
-great to work in
-not much flex
-2 decent fans included
-plenty of places for drives, no clunky drive cages
-aggressively priced
-USB 3.0 included

Cons: -no dust filters on front, top, or back
-doors do not slide on as easily as other cases, including Fractal Design's
-HD audio cable needs to be 3 inches longer if you want it to look decent inside the case

Other Thoughts: I love this case. No Fractal Design case has let me down yet. Their choice to not include drive cages was welcome for me.

5 out of 5 eggsWorth the money..

This review is from: Fractal Design Core 3300 (FD-CA-CORE-3300-BL) Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: The price was right for me at $44.99 shipped once you start thinking about the cost of fans which this case came with 2 ..

Cons: Cable route for hard drives which I can't really see any good way to do it and hide them as It needs a cable tray mounted on the bottom of case to get them across with this design .

Other Thoughts: It has a lot to offer in water cooling and it's quite with enough room for none mod power supply cables ad big video cards.

4 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Fractal Design Core 3300 (FD-CA-CORE-3300-BL) Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Vertical hdd rack, plenty of room for radiators and tall cpu coolers, 22mm to hide your "cable management" and no over rated rubber grommets

Cons: The front panel audio connector is short, was unable to route through right side and come out under motherboard to plug in, it will plug in from a straight shot from front panel but it would look awful. The top of case flexes.

Other Thoughts: For being under $50 it's a great case for a budget build so long as you don't plan using the front panel audio or don't care how the cable management looks also mind you that there is no window but it still bothered me.

4 out of 5 eggsVery Nice case Only few design flaw

This review is from: Fractal Design Core 3300 (FD-CA-CORE-3300-BL) Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: This is a very sleek case. Once you're past the flashy lights stage of PC building and looking for something classy for your self or a client this is a very solid choice! It has a brushed metal front finish and the air ports are off to the side of it. Over all the classy look of this case is what supports it's weight. It is rather sturdy feeling and has what most system builders will look for.

Cons: I am a tough reviewer. Here are the faults on the case as a Professional System builder. 1st there is no hard drive cage but they rather want you to mount your HD's and SSD's sidewise off a mounting bracket. This looks tacky but also doesn't seem that stable to me. I don't like my 3.5's just hanging there. 2nd the front panel Audio cable is very short along with the other header connects so you can't use the cases own cable management for most ATX boards and have to route them around the front of the mobo. A few extra inches would of been nice but alas they are a very tight fit. 3rd the CD rom bay doesn't match up perfectly with the rest of the plate perfectly when you install a cd rom , this is very minor 1 MM or less but still the devil is in the details. It also was missing 1 mounting hole for a Gigabyte 970 atx mobo but many cases are.

Other Thoughts: Over all I would rate this case a solid 85-90 and it will be a consideration for all my future projects. I feel as if the over all class and elegance of this case makes up for it's flaws and it's price point for what you get is very good. I would be interested in a more refined product for sure and they would get all my bis. I rank this in my top 10 cases for clients and in my top 3 for less than 50 bucks.
