5 out of 5 eggsI don't regret my case choice. Not even a little.

This review is from: Fractal Design FD-CA-CORE-3500-BL Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: After owning this case for over one year and having to lug it back and forth between my parents house and my dorm, I can vouch for the strength and durability (provided I wasn't an idiot when moving it) of this case.

The case has plenty of space to work in. the SSD mounts in the back are useful, the dust filters are convenient, the amount of fans and radiators it can hold make cooling easy, comes with fans and a fan controller, etc.

I could go on, but the take-away should be, this case was very effective for my build. I would definitely buy another case from this brand for my next build.

Cons: the case looks kinda plain, but not enough to take off an egg. Also the front panel may get in the way of certain CD players, again not enough to take off an egg.

Other Thoughts: the first one i ordered arrived damaged, received a second one in no time flat. overall happy with my shopping experience.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome case

This review is from: Fractal Design FD-CA-CORE-3500-BL Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: - Roomy case
- Excellent airflow
- Great cable management
- Dust filters
- Fans included
- Water cooler support
- Stunning looking case!

Cons: - Slightly misaligned LED for HDD access that required "pushing" into place, but was able to go back into place easily
- There was sand on the plastic wrapping suggesting the case was outside on the ground somewhere
- Audio cable too short, needed to order extender despite not using onboard audio
- Removing front panel requires removing CD/DVD drive

Other Thoughts: The case is beautiful compared to my last case! It was a dream to work with with all the extra room. I can also now move all of the cables that were blocking my airflow before into the area behind the board. Awesome!

At first I was a little annoyed that the HDD LED was pushed in and off to the side, but it was pretty easy to unscrew that part only, and push it back into place from the bottom of the panel. Man is it an intense blue light! :)

As for the sand on the plastic that was in the box, I have no idea how it got there, but there wasn't a trace of it inside the plastic wrapping. Probably was just sitting outside for a bit on a skid or something.

It was also pretty easy to find the matching fans that are included as I wanted to max the airflow out a bit. The fans are dead quiet too!

This case also works great with the Corsair H105i water cooler that I bought. Between the cooler and all of the fans I have in there now, my CPU (AMD FX-6300) runs at 30C pretty much 24/7, although I plan on maxing out my CPU later with an 8 core version of this AM3+ running at 4ghz or so (sadly my mobo can't handle the best FX Black!)

Supply wise, the case comes with nice screws for mounting the drives into the rubber stopped that stop just shy of being too tight by hitting the back of the drive holes so that its literally a perfectly snug fit and helps with vibration. Well done! I also love the thumb screws that are used to hold in the powder coated slot brackets. The white looks sharp, especially with my nice white MSI GTX 960 GPU!

I will say though that it was difficult plugging in the fans on the top of my motherboard headers after having put the water cool in place too early, but that is my own fault, not the case designers. Just a thought for those building with this case to give such things advance thought! ;)

Final thought? Buy it! You won't be disappointed unless you are moving from a thousand dollar case with a butler and personal pit crew ;)

5 out of 5 eggsSpacious, Quiet and Minimalistic.

This review is from: Fractal Design FD-CA-CORE-3500-BL Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: I didn't scrape my knuckles once during the recent completion of my new computer. There is ample room for components to fit, cable management is only an issue if you have no imagination and air flow is not a problem. It is exceptionally quiet with my added 2x 140mm Fractal fans to cover the top holes left by design. I am glad I picked those up. The quality of construction is solid at all corners with the exception of the plastic front cover which is held by plastic snaps that could become fragile in the future. From right to left... two USB 3.0 ports, mic/audio out 3.5mm jacks, a single bright white led indicator followed by a reset and power button laid out with equal spacing into a nice flat even surface which makes up the top of the case. I ma considering a piano hinge and flat bracket to cover the ports when not in use. :)

Cons: I really wish there could have been an option for vent covers to block the top two 140mm vents just in case people didn't want to install fans there. It's a small thing but these should have been tossed in as a give me for a product design such as this. For the holes to be without a filtration tray or vent covers allowing anything an everything to enter the chassis could be a problem. It's the reason why I bought two extra 140mm fans and not just the one hahaha. Then again this could've been a good marketing ploy as the Fractal fans are really nice... so maybe good job on the apparent overlook. hahha

Other Thoughts: Nothing really to add here.... I like that there is a hideaway for SSD drives to park behind the motherboard. now if only there was only a way for me to install/remove them in/from the hideaway without having to remove the motherboard in order to get to the screw holes that secure them. Almost seems logical...

4 out of 5 eggsGreat case

This review is from: Fractal Design FD-CA-CORE-3500-BL Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Excellent case for the price! Sleek, quiet, and tons of room for the biggest CPU cooler or GPU!

I have a Noctua D15 cooler and have about an inch to spare from the side panel. More than enough room for anything!

Also has some decent air flow considering there are only 2 fans with the case.

Cons: Few things:

1) The fan control switch is a silly design and I found no use for it.
2) The top of the case is little flimsy so it can be a pain to install the side panels correctly.
3) The white HDD LED light on top of the case is really bright and distracting.
4) Not sure why Fractal couldn't pre-install the mobo risers. When I installed them it felt like I was stripping the thread. We'll find out if I did or not the next time I take my motherboard out. (Should be in a few years)
5) The front I/O panel wires that connect to the mobo are just not long enough. I don't understand why case manufacturers always skip out on adding just a few more inches on wire that costs them pennies.

Other Thoughts: I don't want a case that is constantly reminding me of its presence, so this case's sleek and quiet design was the selling point.

Also, I absolutely love the brushed front panel.

2 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Fractal Design FD-CA-CORE-3500-BL Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Lots of space, steel, feels nice no alien looking shapes.

Cons: Audio cable is extremely short, you will have trouble with most mid/high-end builds. Had to apply a lot of force to remove side panels almost felt like I'm going to break something. Fan connecter blocks SLI/some screws for GPU slots.

Get yourself something else, there are way better cases for the same price or even less.

5 out of 5 eggsI love it but....

This review is from: Fractal Design FD-CA-CORE-3500-BL Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Solid! I mean solid. Only the front is plastic and its well made too.

Lots of room for cable management. Well placed holes to run wires from the power supply to the rest of the case.

There is a ton of options for cooling.

Filters on intake fans.

Cons: Does not allow me to install my (3) three Sapphire Toxic 280x cards. The bottom x16 slot on my Asus P6X58D Premium is blocked by the power supply. This is my only complaint. The case is otherwise awesome.

5 out of 5 eggsWell built computer case

This review is from: Fractal Design FD-CA-CORE-3500-BL Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: The case is plenty big and is wide enough for the Phanteks PH-TC14PE CPU cooler, which is a fairly large cooler.

Very sleek, minimalist design.

Cons: I have yet to find any cons to the case. Being a computer case it is pretty straight forward.

4 out of 5 eggsVery very nice,but.

This review is from: Fractal Design FD-CA-CORE-3500-BL Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Very nice, solid built case.Good metal, not flimsy.Cable management system is very good and helps you keep all the unwanted wires away.Built in fans giving decent airflow without bringing too much noise.Case is very roomy for any kind of set-up.Tons of options for your cooling solutions (that's why i bought non-windowed version-for additional fan on the door) you can install water cooling or 3-4 additional fans to the bottom, front panel or to the top.One feature i really love-the cut under the MB,right under the CPU socket-so if you are playing with custom CPU fans or cooling solutions you don't need to remove MB in order to change/remove mounting brackets.Case is also wide so my Cooler Master 212 EVO is not even close to the door, with nice cable management-the description is correct,it's essence of airflow, period.

Cons: HD audio cable ruins the whole cable management process. Cable is too short and in order to get it connected you will need to pull it across the case.USB 3.0 cable is too long (at least for my MB) and seems to be a bit loose.Case got a nice set of screws but no screws for additional fans (i got silver so they are not looking good on black body). 2 additional spots for the SSD are accessible only with MB out of the case.

Other Thoughts: Overall i will call it a very good case. The features you got for the price-are closer to high-end Full ATX towers.Case is very wide and roomy, with a lot of nice features, just need a little bit more love and design added.Make the audio cable longer and add some kind of SSD mounts to the back-and i can bet this would be a best seller.

5 out of 5 eggsNice case for the money

This review is from: Fractal Design FD-CA-CORE-3500-BL Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: usb 3.0
nice placement of power/reset
sturdiness
looks
quality

Cons: fan controller could be in a better place
fan controller only useable with 3 pin fans no adapters included
hard plastic feet not rubber
the front cover is removable...until you put drive in 5.25 bay

Other Thoughts: Overall, I really like the case. I think it's worth the 59$ I spent. I can nit pick anything to pieces and everything I noted as cons really aren't a big deal to me.

The front panel not being able to come off after inserting an optical drive was the most frustrating thing but the filters can't be removed in the front and will have to be vacuumed so oh well.

I didn't care for the hard plastic feet. Being that the case will be on a carpeted floor it is no big deal to me. If I was placing on table I'd much rather have rubber feet for extra vibration/noise dampening. I'm sure you could always make your own dampeners if need be so I wouldn't let this keep you from getting the case. Regardless, the case should come with rubber soles

Being that my case will be on carpet I would like to have more space on the bottom to allow more air flow and not restrict the bottom fan.

The fan controller didn't help me any. It is placed to where it can interfere with management of your graphics card. My mother board has its own fan controller and enough fan headers so I just removed the case fan controller completely leaving a small hole.

The case metal is solid and not flimsy. Aesthetics of case are pleasing in every way. I really like this case. I think you will be hard pressed to find a case of this quality at this price.

I'd buy again and am a satisfied customer
