3 out of 5 eggsCooler Master Hyper 212 EVO

This review is from: AZZA Solano 1000R Black / Red Japanese SECC Steel/Metal mesh in front MicroATX/ATX/Full ATX Computer Case

Pros: Nice colors.
Seems roomy sorda.
Love the big fans if you can use them all.
Seems light for carrying.

Cons: It looks roomy like everyone else says, till you start putting everything in it. This is my friend's build that I worked on. I have a CM Storm Stryker and it seems to have much much more room compared to this one. Case didn't come with a manual. Cables from the front are not solid colors their the bright ugly ones. Most case companies will at least put the cheap black type of coating on it. Other than that, it was pretty over all. However the biggest Con for this case is.

DOES NOT WORK WITH Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO. The side fan will hit up against the CPU Cooler. So if your using the Hyper 212, do not get this case unless you get a different CPU Cooler.

Also didn't come with SSD bracket to hold the SSD in.

2 out of 5 eggsNot very well designed

This review is from: AZZA Solano 1000R Black / Red Japanese SECC Steel/Metal mesh in front MicroATX/ATX/Full ATX Computer Case

Pros: - Holds all of my hardware
- Large (see cons)
- Good out-of-the-box cooling (see cons)
- Lots of screws included
- Very solid build quality

Cons: - Large amount of space is not well utilized
- Side fan was ridiculously loud, had to be removed
- Poor support for liquid cooling
- Cable management space is very small
- No rubber grommets
- Poorly designed hard drive cages/front intake
- Very little support for 2.5" drives
- No cut outs underneath the motherboard
- front panel cables too short
- Heavy, though this is a result of its build quality

Other Thoughts: I purchased this case for my first build. At that time it seemed like a good choice. Months later, however, I'm not at all impressed.

This case is very large. To me, this would normally be a good thing as it would have plenty of space for a whole lot of hardware. In this case, though, the space is difficult to fill. The top intake fan cannot be swapped for something like two 120mm fans and a radiator, which there is plenty of room for. Similarly, there is no way to mount a radiator at the front either. The fans are mounted directly on the hard drive cages. This means that if you want to remove one or both of the cages to make space for something else (like a radiator), you'll be left with nothing but empty space as there is no other way to mount anything there without modification. Even if there had been a better mounting solution for the fans, removing the hard drive cages leaves you with no other place to mount storage. Now that we're seeing many other ways of mounting drives in newer cases, this is a big problem.

While there is too much space in some areas, there is also too little space in others. With the side fan installed, there is not much space for tall CPU heatsinks and you may find it difficult to fit in a larger graphics card as well. Behind the motherboard there is very little space for cable routing. I couldn't even get the side panel to attach properly with all of cables going where they need to be. If you need to use cable extensions (which is likely due to the height of the case, the 8 pin power connector is difficult to reach), have a lot of hardware with a lot of cables to run, or have a power supply with very thick cables, you may find difficulty closing the panel properly with impeccable cable routing.

Additionally, the stock cables are just too short. The front panel audio connector barely got to the port on my motherboard. Also, without cut outs underneath the motherboard tray, the cables caused the system to look less elegant.

The side fan was too loud for me to use. I'm not sure what the reason for this is as the top fan is identical but is very quiet. I don't know whether it was a problem with my power supply, molex connector, or the fan itself. I wouldn't take off points from the case for this issue due to my uncertainty on its roots, but it's something worth noting.

All of this said, I was very impressed by the build quality. The case is almost entirely built of steel, with the exceptions being the top panel, front panel, and drive cages. However, all of that heavy steel results in an overall heavy case. If that's an issue for you, you'll definitely want to look elsewhere.

Conclusion: I would not recommend this case. There are many newer cases coming onto the market within the same price point with much more impressive features and designs. With the enclosure industry moving very quickly, this case has simply become obsolete against its newer counterparts.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Case

This review is from: AZZA Solano 1000R Black / Red Japanese SECC Steel/Metal mesh in front MicroATX/ATX/Full ATX Computer Case

Pros: The fact that it comes with more screws than you might actually need is one thing. The other is that the case is designed to help contain all the wires. Both side panels are easily removed with thumb screws. Its an easy case to handle. It has quiet fans that supply ample cooling for the whole case. You definitely dont have to worry about your HDDS getting hot thats for sure. All around a very good case for the money.

Cons: The only cons i see are the plastic fins that act as a grill for the top fan. They havnt broken yet. But they might if you put too much pressure on it. Though that can be expected with just about everyting.

3 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: AZZA Solano 1000R Black / Red Japanese SECC Steel/Metal mesh in front MicroATX/ATX/Full ATX Computer Case

Pros: It has good ventilation, fan life and been good.

Cons: Metal, if they had gone with a thicker gauge on the metal I believe it would have helped this case a lot or opted to put something in to help stiffen the side panels since they can be a pain to line up sometimes when putting them back on.

Other Thoughts: Nice looking case but I think there are better options.

5 out of 5 eggsOne bad case. That's good.

This review is from: AZZA Solano 1000R Black / Red Japanese SECC Steel/Metal mesh in front MicroATX/ATX/Full ATX Computer Case

Pros: I received the case in the mail a few days ago and had very little trouble switching both old and new components into it. It is very easy to open up, for once I love, love, love the popout front ports (They fit so darn well over the dvd drive), the HDD drive bays were ingenious, and really it's just a joy to open up. No silly "quick snap", "easy install", or "screwless inserts" here.

It looks ridiculously awesome. Very quiet. So flow. Much air.

Cons: The one unfortunate thing is that, like a previous reviewer, I have an Antec H80i cooler in it, and the side fan gets in the way if I installed it in full. My solution, however, was to simply take off one of the cooler fans. Even with this done, my monster of a processor (AMD FX-9370) runs cool.

Other Thoughts: Bought one for my best friend, too. I can't wait to expand it even more.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent

This review is from: AZZA Solano 1000R Black / Red Japanese SECC Steel/Metal mesh in front MicroATX/ATX/Full ATX Computer Case

Pros: - Lots of fans
- Lots of room
- Holds all of my components

Cons: - No liquid cooling potential
- Nothing is tool-less
- The side fan was, for whatever reason, incredibly loud and I couldn't use it
- Very little space for cable management behind the motherboard tray, I really had to jam cables in to get the side panel to close
- Only dust filters are on the bottom

Other Thoughts: Bottom line I would not recommend this case. For the price I'm sure you could find one much better.

5 out of 5 eggsDecent Case

This review is from: AZZA Solano 1000R Black / Red Japanese SECC Steel/Metal mesh in front MicroATX/ATX/Full ATX Computer Case

Pros: The case is extremely neat. Lots of space for HDDs, space at the top for water cooling system. Overall it's spacious and looks quite decent.

Cons: The fans are really cheap. After a few months of usage some of them began making noise, in my case the top fan on the case began making the noises. BUT If you contact AzzA they will send you free fan replacements (you only have to pay for shipping).

Other Thoughts: All in all it's a very good case, I'm glad I chose it.

5 out of 5 eggsGorgeous and Overall Great Case

This review is from: AZZA Solano 1000R Black / Red Japanese SECC Steel/Metal mesh in front MicroATX/ATX/Full ATX Computer Case

Pros: Very roomy however the heatsink almost made it to where I could have the side fan on the case but it ended up sliding on with a little force put into it.

It also looks amazing and I had no issues with putting stuff in or getting around in the case.

Cons: The power button uses a blue LED which doesnt go with the red theme but it does help with see that it is the power button I guess.

4 out of 5 eggsSeems good

This review is from: AZZA Solano 1000R Black / Red Japanese SECC Steel/Metal mesh in front MicroATX/ATX/Full ATX Computer Case

Pros: Large - plenty of space for cables, multiple hard drives and a largish graphics card.
Plenty of fans to keep air flowing.
Easy to remove side and front panels.
Plenty of screws and motherboard stands included.
Placement of front buttons / ports is pretty convenient (facing up rather than straight forward).
Side panel fan will keep mold from growing on my feet given my sedentary lifestyle.

Cons: Minor annoyance is that it has so many LEDs, but luckily they're not at all obnoxious.
