Since we first unveiled our first gaming PC chassis, many have followed our line of exceptional gaming products close. After looking more into what users wanted and needed, we here at Diablotek started to talk about some of the cool things we were working on at home including liquid cooling, silent systems, extreme performance rigs, molding, etc.. This made us realize that we should use our already great performance models and crank up the juice a little. Thus, the FLY was born.

  • newegg Aluminum Magnesium Materials The Diablotek Fly tower is made out of lightweight Aluminum Magnesium Materials.
  • newegg Server Style The bottom mounted power supply design offers less heating and low noise from the power supply.
  • newegg Dust Filter Dust filters prevent dust buildups.
  • newegg Better Airflow The clean mesh design front panel with a pre-installed 120mm fan and an optional 120mm rear fan expansion offers better airflow. No more worries for overheating.
  • newegg Easy Assembly The Diablotek Fly tower was designed to be assembled easily. Installing the 5.25" devices and 3.5" HDDs has never been easier.
  • newegg 1 Year Warranty Diablotek provides all our cases with a full 1 year warranty service.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Case

Pros: Well build case with a nice feel for being 100% aluminum. I like the fact the manufacture put so much effort that there are no spot welds and it is all held together by screws.

Cons: Not anything new to building cases made from some form of alloy. The case has a few rough edges if one is not careful.

Other Thoughts: I think that for a full out gaming rig this is a bit small. I would reccomend this for a high performance set up or an old school quad core set up that naturaly tends to run hot.

5 out of 5 eggseasy to use case, challenging much more expensive ones

Pros: This case has really great cable management with most of the cables behind the sheet behind the board. i also was able to screw my SSD to the side of the 5.25" cage. It is lightweight (aluminum - duh) and with the 2 120 mm fans it is pretty cool for normal systems. The finish looks great and i don't have scratches so far. i have an older twice as expensive case that is much harder to install.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: the only downside (and that is known) is that it has three 3.5" bays only. I rather give up one of the 5.25" to have more HDD space. but this is a general problem and not a hidden flaw for this specific case. i guess most people don't have more than one SSD and three HDD anyway.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Case

Pros: I have built many computers and I have never seen a case so nice for the price. I have no idea how they are making any money on this product.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsPhenomenal

Pros: High grade aluminum
Gorgeous finish
matching screws
tool less design drive bays
In expensive

Cons: Sadly the unit does not have the coloring as the picture. Its much darker. like a dark gunmetal. Do not use the picture for reference. Its still a beautiful case.

Slightly sharp, It is aluminum so nowhere near the sharpness of thin steel. Its really not that big of a deal just being picky

Other Thoughts: I extremely impressed. I was expecting thin flimsy, un thought out. Gladly I was proved very wrong. though it is not the thickest aluminum... It is far from flimsy or thin.

Well thought out design. Im really amazed with this case.

4 out of 5 eggsVery Nice Looking

Pros: This case is very light and the color is elegant looking. The holes in the motherboard tray are a nice touch to hide some of the cables and keep them out of the way for improved air flow. All of the drive bay covers as well as the front fan grill are used for air flow and have dust screens. Minor, but a nice touch. A few of the edges are a little sharper than I would like them although not sharp enough to cut you, but it makes an otherwise nice case feel a bit cheap. The aluminum / magnesium case, framework, and side panels are thinner than the Lian-Li's I'm accustomed to using so they tend to have a lot of flex. But once everything is assembled and tied together everything firms up. Hard drive rails are easy to use and seem to work fine.

Cons: Only comes with one 120mm fan installed, then should have included both front and rear since there's provisions for both.

Other Thoughts: I'm used to using the very high quality Lian-Li cases so that's what I have to compare this Diablotek Fly with.

On a scale of 1 - 10 (with Lian-Li a 10), I would have to give this case a solid 8.5. Although it has a few minor quality issues as mentioned above, it is a beautiful case. At at it's price point as compared to the higher end cases, it's real hard to give it a lower score.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent Case

Pros: Its a decent case, Bottom mount for the PSU is nice. Screwless installation for CD drives and Hard Drives. Front panel USB and Audio is nice.

Cons: Maybe its just my preference, but when installing the hard drive, I realized that the hard drive stuck out to almost where it would be touching the side of the case when closing the case, furthermore the case would be impossible to close with the cables hooked into the hard drive. Fortunately I realized that it was possible to put the hard drive in "backwards" which made it fit. It just means the connections are on the other side of the case. It is also a bit more difficult than usual to remove the hard drive for a rail system.

Other Thoughts: It's a good looking case, but not as good looking on the inside as it is on the outside.

5 out of 5 eggsMust See In Person

Pros: Lowest priced aluminum case on the market. You can definitely feel the difference when moving this case around. It is extremely lightweight and unlike other "aluminum" cases under $100, this case is actually all aluminum. The inside of the case has a nice brushed finished. The outside is brushed as well with a gray finish.

Not only does it have the appearance of a more expensive case using higher end materials, it also offers modern features such as cable management cut outs and quick connect HDD and disk drive installation.

Installation went fairly well. It was a little more time consuming than a Corsair install, but I'm a nut when it comes to making my install as clean as possible.

Cons: There are a few issues that may or may not be important. With a budget case come budget engineering and design. While the style and materials are great, the layout is strange for a few things.

The front fan does not come preinstalled. To install a front fan, I had to remove the HDD cage. This only took a few minutes, but be sure to install the fan before installing components or you may have to step backwards.

The cut out at the very top for the 12v EPS CPU connector is very tight. I could not route the cable through the hole with the mother board attached. It is even a tight fit with the MB completely out.

Other things that could irk people are some sharp edges, hard to clean foam dust filters, and limited room for a CPU cooler.

The popular Coolermaster 212 will not fit with my measurements.

Other Thoughts: Overall, the cons are minor compared to other cases in this price range, especially when considering the build materials. I would highly recommend this case as it looks really slick, is lightweight, and is priced extremely low. If you are looking for a professional looking case without all the gamer nonsense, then definitely consider this one.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Case!

Pros: Bottom mounted PSU allows for Corsair H80 cooling unit to fit perfectly.

Cons: Blue LED on the front of the case is blinding. Had to put a sticker over it.

Other Thoughts: Case was slightly bent on the bottom edge near the PSU, probably happened during shipping. Not a big deal.
