5 out of 5 eggsGood fan controller

Pros: I was somewhat worry before I bought this fan controller due to reviews regarding some beeping sounds, then battery not holding time etc etc etc. I only found the alarm beep that happens maybe once a day and its very short mellow beep, I barely even notice it!!!! I think last time I heard the beep was 3 days a go.... The timing is still here, but honestly I don't care if it fails, and if it does I'll buy new battery if that's needed. I'm rating this puppy 5 eggs cause when compared to my other fan controller thats aerocool-2000 it blows it out of water in any possible way!!! LED color is way more vibrant, cleaner and stronger, has way better angle view, looks much more sleeker, can control 5 fans vs 4 of the aerocool, aercool can only control 4 fans if they are not greater in size of 120-140mm, since I have the 200mm fan hooked to the aerocool it seems it draws more power and leaves 1 fan channel usles, while thats not the case with the NZXT. I wish NZXT comes out with another model 2 bay fan controller lcd sleek at this one but yet different in looks so I can get rid of the aerocool.... It takes to use inferior product in order to appreciate a product thats over all good and give it a honest review, which is what I'm doing at the moment.

5 out of 5 eggsPretty nice

Pros: Works pretty well, beautiful, and works if you know what to do

Cons: here's the issue, auto SUCKS. Period. but put in manual, works great. sometimes beeps which is a bit startling, but I just took some plyers and squished the beeper so you barely hear it.

3 out of 5 eggsNZXT Sentry. Meh.

Pros: 5x 3pin fan control. Graphic interface. Temp sensors.

Cons: For some reason even though I have the temperature alarm set to "off" the thing still beeps sometimes for no apparent reason. You cannot remove the temp sensors from the unit so they are just bundled up behind it and they all read about 28*C. Maybe it beeps when it hits 30*C? Either way it shouldn't because I have it set to "Off". It doesn't happen often enough to make me want to RMA but it is still annoying for a fan controller at this price.

Other Thoughts: I'd probably go with one without an alarm next time. I don't need my controller to tell me when the PC is overheating but that's just me. If it works on yours it might actually be a cool feature.

2 out of 5 eggsDont Waste Your Money! Looks Good, Functions Bad

Pros: Looks Good, Huge Display, Aluminum Frame

Cons: Wow where do I start?? I went through 3 of these things before finally coming to the realization that these units simply arent programmed very well. I can get past the poor viewing angles of the display since the unit is some what cheap and the display is large, but I cant over look the other problems. I had to physically rip the speaker off just to get the darn thing to remain quiet! It randomly beeps for no reason at all!! Its constantly sending my fans into full blast mode, and it eats through batteries!! You maybe get a month or two out of a battery but thats it! Im not sure why this thing is so power hungry and hard on batteries when its only purpose is to store programmed information when you computer is off (sort of like your mobo cmos battery). Fan speeds constantly fluctuate and the display actually went out on the first two that I owned! Trust me read the reviews, this controller has the same issues and most people giving it 5 stars probably havent owned it for more than a few days. Dont fall for the pretty looks...

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Look's really cool.Works great in may HAF running 5 fans,2 of the 5 that it's controlling are my 2 radiator fan's for my H80I.Really easy install and all hardware you need included, and the price cant be beat.
I love it. Highly recommend.

Cons: Only thing I think would be a cool upgrade to touch screen control. But still does not bother me.

Some people may find that it take's up 2 bay's a con,I myself do not.

4 out of 5 eggsLooks great & works great

Pros: Looks very nice

Extra Temp Sensors(Incase some die or w/e)

Great Final touch to a killer gaming system

Works well unlike some other review time/date stay after reboots/shutdowns, can set to any RPM increase/decrease 100RPM at a time limited by the fan its self some of my fans can go high some set lower but thats fine some i want to be able to go fast and other like hard drive fans dont need to go fast

Cons: Tape for Temp Sensors isnt good at all so buy or use some other tape to apply them

The 4 Pin Molex Power Pass Thru is cheap Pins move around making it hard to all line up to connect it. Tho 95% of Pass Thrus from any company ive gotten uses these cheap pass thrus not really that big of an issue only minorly annoying

Other Thoughts: My Self I usually Keep it on Auto most of the time but when im stressing out my whole system to the max like OC stress test or benchmarking i set fans to manual and works great stays at max unlike someone elses review maybe another needs to RMA

I see some saying about beeping cant be disabled thats not true at all they either have a broken unit and need to RMA it or they just dont know how.

Someone also said it has a bad viewing angle... sure if your looking from the back of the computer lol u need xray vision for that :P its got great viewing angle if 0 is right in front of it im at like 80 degrees of it and can still see it

I still have to replace or adapt some fans so only have 4 hooked up atm to 1,2,4,5 and it skips over 3 just fine saw someone else had an issue with that they should RMA it

May not be the controllers fault guess time will tell... Once in a while it beeps out of no where just once and it not too often just once a week not sure if its cause a fan slowed down or what didnt know at 1st the noise was this controler :P next time ill have to check it faster to see if its showing any info about why its beepin

I see some people saying Sometimes fan speeds inaccurate how the heck do you know do you have a IR tachometer pointed on it tell up more info in your reviews

Beeping setting lets it goto off havent check to see if it still beeps in off mode may check that later

3 out of 5 eggsCool but unnecessary

Pros: Looks cool

Cons: Doesn't report the right RPM's, suddenly drops RPM's without your consent and or losses data of doesn't display your fan(s).

Other Thoughts: Don't wastes your money on looks over functionality.

2 out of 5 eggsFancy, Efficient, but ANNOYING

Pros: This allows you almost complete control over up to 5 individual fans within your case. Equip with 5 heat sensors for "Auto" mode, which will adjust your fans accordingly to the temperature in the area each sensor is placed.

This item looks very fancy. Adds that final touch of "WOW" to your gaming PC. Though the screen has a very bad viewing angle.

Cons: This controller detects anything slower than 400RPM or so to be 0% speed, and then beeps. This means if you keep your case cool, likely your fans will slow down, thus causing this device to make a sudden BEEEEP without warning. It is startling, and there is no way to disable it.

Secondly, this device has a software glitch. Lets say you have a fan on channel 1, 2, 3 and 5 (skipping 4 for this example). It will work fine and dandy under Manual mode, when using the fan selection button to adjust the speed of each fan individually after a reset, but after you let it settle for a while, the fan select button will glitch, and will only select fans 1, 2, and 3. Completely ignoring 5, because there is an empty fan slot before it... :( So you have to reset it, and then reset the time every time you want to adjust the speed. To solve this, make sure to move your empty channels to the very end of your fan array. Not to mention, the reset button gives NO warning upon reset. A simple accidental push, and there goes all your settings.

Lastly, ground yourself before you even dare touch this thing, or your PC. The sliiightest, barely noticeable static electricity causes the display on this device to completely malfunction, until you preform a complete power down on your pc, and reboot. Also, the screens viewing angle is terrible.

NXZT was happy to offer a RMA exchange, however pulling this out of my computer and sending it off is way more hassle than it is worth, with all the cables this thing comes with. The device works, it was just made with very little planning.

All of these things combined makes me heavily regret ever purchasing this item, though their slim version is amazing. I bought both. I still find NZXT to be quality at their own level, but don't let the fanciness of this item sell you like it sold me.

Other Thoughts: Please don't get me wrong. Support NZXT all you wish. They sell great things! My new build is composed of several NZXT products. But I strongly advise that you stay away from this product, and if you are looking for a fan controller by this company, get the single bay, 5 channel touch screen controller instead. It actually works the way it was intended, with or without all the channels being used!

4 out of 5 eggsWorks pretty well

Pros: It works how it is suppose to.

Cons: It will beep sometimes when you restart your computer, it also randomly beeps for no reason and yes i have put in the battery that came with the fan controller it's just bad programming on their end. The cords are also very stiff and the clips for the controller plugins are very stiff too so it is extremely hard to take the fans off the fan controller. The thermal tape just like anyone else'es review on this in not very sticky and can pose as a problem.
