3 out of 5 eggsLooks nice, works good

Pros: I have had this for about two weeks and it looks very nice, also works nice. Setup was easy and helps maintain my system temperatures, while keeping it quiet.

Cons: After about a week i don't know what happened but the clock looses it's time every time i shut down the computer, i even replaced the battery.

Other Thoughts: Great, "show off" gadget

1 out of 5 eggsI don't understand the point of this product....

Pros: Sleek design, looks incredible.

Cons: Air cooling is what I live for and I honestly don't understand the point of buying something this nice, a high end premium touch controlled fan controller if it can't handle high end fans. 10 Watts? Seriously? I would never buy this. Its completely useless to me.

Other Thoughts: I buy the high end FFB Delta fans and tame them way down because A. They last forever (I have a Delta from the 80's that still works) B. They're incredibly efficient at lower RPM's and push tons of air even when they're turned way down. C. You have that cooling power when you need it, like when you're overclocking, benchmarking, the wife is nagging, or notice your system is running a little toasty and decide to crank it up for a few minutes.

This product really feels like a useless gadget (that looks nice) for nerds who want to brag about their computer setup and make their friends jealous.

PLEASE make something like this for computer users like me who actually have a reason to use something like this! It would make my day! Oh but wait, this company makes their own fans and they don't want me buying Delta fans. >.>

3 out of 5 eggsShould have read it all!

Pros: Gorgeous design.
Heavy and well lit.
More aesthetic than function (to me)

Cons: Read this in the Compatibility tab on the Details section of this item:

Compatibility ----- 5.25" Drive bay

I bought it for one sole reason, and that's to make the front of my PC look cool. It said 5.25, however, it is external. So basically, you plug everything in to a PCI slot and then drag a huge heavy wire from the back of your case to wherever you want to place this controller. I do not want that. What I wanted is something that can fit into my 5.25' drive. As it said on the details page. It is about 4 centimeters (too large) from being a perfect fit in a 5.25 slot.

Another problem is all the wires. But I knew that. You have 5 temp sensors and 5 fan plugs. Along with a molex to power it all up. VERY messy. But that's a problem with all fan controllers.

Other Thoughts: Eh. Oh well, I guess I can power it up without connecting anything and "stair at all the shiny lights"

3 out of 5 eggsNZXT

Pros: looks cool

Cons: worked fine for a couple weeks, but now it wont put my fans above 600 RPM. When i used to run it on auto it worked well, adjusting the fans (usually around 5000 rpm) when the temp went up. now the temp goes up and nothing happens. wont let me adjust it in manual mode either.

instructions dont really tell you anything, no suggestions on where to place the temp gauges

the tape doesnt stick well

clock runs fast

Other Thoughts: this thing looked really cool and seemed to work alright for a couple weeks, install would have been easier with proper instructions. but with this latest issue, i'll be disconnecting it.

2 out of 5 eggsWorks but not very well

Pros: Gave temp. read outs and fan rpm. Thats about it for pros.

Cons: Takes up a pci slot which for me wasn't that big of a deal if it would have fit more securely in my In Win Dragon Rider case. Didn't recoginze one of the fans I plugged into it. No molex plugs for my two led fans. Tons of cords which made a lot of clutter even in a full tower case. The touch screen was very non responsive. Had to use a stylus from my DS to use it.

Other Thoughts: I probably should have researched more before buying this fan controller but I hope this review will help people not make the same mistake I did. I will be asking Newegg if I can refund it. IMO after researching more to see if I wanted to replace this fan controller for a different one I came to the conculsion that I was just going to leave them plugged into my Asus P8P67 Deluxe mobo which controls them anyway. I also recomend this for any one who has the ability to plug case fans into their mobo because it saves you a lot of hassle and cable clutter.

1 out of 5 eggsNZXT Controller

Pros: Nice looking controller. Thats about it.

Cons: Installed, Time/Date/Auto settings would NOT stay set after a reboot, Would have to re-set the settings. Fans would constantly go way down from stock speeds.

The angle of the display when looking from side view, Is alittle hard to read also.

Other Thoughts: I wanted to like this, But with those flaws, I cant. Talked to NZXT and was told this controllers battery can get drained quick from certain power supplies. So I'm not gonna keep a controller that I have to constantly replace the battery.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: -Somewhat small, it doesn't take a full or 2 full 5.25 bays
-Cord lenght is great
-Worked nicely for two months until... (see below)

Cons: I had this fan controller for a little over 2 months until today, it burned in my computer!!!! I was playing TF2 since a couple of hours (It was working perfectly fine as I played TF2) and then I went out of the room to get a drink. When I came back, there was a strong smell of burning plastic!!!! Immediately, I shut down my pc and made some verification. When I finally turned it back, the touch screen display would not turn on. However, it still lowered the speeds of my fans so it's somewhat working minus the touch screen and ability to set the fan's speeds.

Other Thoughts: Oh and also, the clock seems to get a couple of minutes ahead every week.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It works as described. Fan controller.

Cons: The wires are very annoying. I decided not to use this just because the wires were all over my case, even after spending hours trying to get them organized.

4 out of 5 eggsGood External Controller

Pros: This is a good external controller to monitor multiple fans at one time. Love how you can adjust the rpms anytime. The temp sensors are accurate to plus you can also adjust those to a certain temp and if it goes over that temp it will sound an alarm saying something is going on. Also has auto or manual control. This is perfect for saving some space for you're drive bays.

Cons: The reason I had to give it 4 stars is because the power molex is loose meaning it will not keep a good connection if you keep moving it around everywhere. Plus the cord that goes to the unit and the pci card is flimsy to, one little bump and it will come disconnected. So watch that if you plan on getting this.

Other Thoughts: Again, this is a great controller to have to save space inside the system and monitor the fans anywhere on the outside. Right now its on my desk and I can always see what's going on the the temperatures and the rpms. Was a well worth buy.

5 out of 5 eggsThis thing is cool AND it cools

Pros: It doesn't take up 5.25 bays, which if you bother to read the description you'd already know and that's a major selling point for me. Adjusts very easily, you can get it dialed in where you want it in a matter of minutes. Fantastic display, a quick glance is all you need to see what's up with temps and fan speeds. Alarm function a big plus also.

I fill up my full tower case with every bay in use so having a nice fan controller that didn't take up a bay (or two) was exactly what I was looking for. This is a beautiful addition to a high tech set up, it really looks great. Being able to position it where ever you like is a real plus, the external connector cable is about 5 feet (maybe more) long so plenty of wire to snake under the desk to the back of the case and still be able to put this where I want it. Being as you can do that, you can actually see the LCD screen rather than trying to look down and get the right angle to view something mounted in a 5.25 bay.

Cons: Like another reviewer mentioned, use a stylus. My fingers are too big to hit all of the small controls easily but using a stylus works just fine. It would be nice if it had several modes instead of just Auto and Manual so that you could have multiple configurations. Most of the time I leave it on Auto and I have Manual set to full power on the fans so touching the Auto/Manual button toggles between full power (noisier) and the quieter Auto.

As usual, poorly written instructions. I wish these manufacturers would get someone who speaks "Ingritch" to write their manuals.

Major Con: People who complain about it not fitting in a 5.25 bay and complain about the wires. Read the description and look at the pics before you buy. Wires...yeah, it's gonna have a lot of wires, duh! How did you think it worked, by prayer and miracles? Magic maybe? If you're going to get power and probes where you need them, it's gonna take some wire to do that. Not a problem in my HAF 932 case.

Other Thoughts: I'm using a HAF 932 case with lots of fans. I use this to control all of the case fans (top, front, bottom and the side panel) plus I'm using a Corsair H70 water CPU cooler so I use it to control the 3 pin pump mounted to the CPU. I put an aftermarket 4000 RPM PWM 4 pin fan on the radiator and it's connected to the motherboard PWM CPU fan socket. I tucked temp probes into the south bridge heat sink, the north bridge sink, the heat spreaders on the RipJaws PC1600 memory, the radiator and one in the center of the case for ambient interior case temperature.

Ambient room temp @ 76F (25C), the NB and SB are 102F (39C) and everything else incl. CPU is below 100F (38C) @ about 50% load. I'd call that effective cooling.

The description says it takes up a PCI slot, it doesn't really, there's no connection to the MB it just fits in a slot bay on the case.
