1 out of 5 eggsCan't edit reviews : last update...

Pros: Mesh looks nice for my context, but now it's been unmounted and

Cons: Apart from the looks, everything is a con :
1) USB 2.0 for the car readers. Even though one can see the little USB 2.0 plug on one of the pictures, they don't mention this, and they can't expect that we "observe and scrutinize" the product ONLINE before buying, like if we were in a bricks-and-mortar store (!!)

2) The only thing which is USB 3.0 have its ports crooked and unusable, from factory it seems (I've read other people having the same issue at Amzon.ca with that same product)

Other Thoughts: After reading forums about this product, NZXT knows that it's flawed, but they're still trying to sell it (and merchants still keep it in their inventory for the sale). This is ROGUE business : "buy it and have the pleasure to trash it yourself"...

Some people wonder how we pollute the planet? Major actors are like this company building and selling broken stuff that they know you'll throw in the garbage : IMHO they should NOT be in business, it's criminal in terms of honesty (they robbed my money) and for the environment they're filling with their trashed stuff.

3 out of 5 eggsUpdate : deception

Pros: Update of my previous evaluations:
Excellent packaging from Newegg, as usual.
Same "pros" as my previous post, please read the cons

Cons: Indeed, the USB ports on the unit I've received are crooked, exactly as on the picture!... Other reviews said that theirs was "straight", well good for them : not mine. I can't even use the port on the right, else I fear I'd break it!

-1egg (it was already -1 on the other review (because of the card readers being on USB 2 which is not mentioned anywhere in their description) : total = -2 eggs

Other Thoughts: It looks fantastic in the build (Roswill R5 Gaming Case).

4 out of 5 eggsNice

Pros: Ordered and waiting for the week end to go by...
Nice aperture and black, exactly what I need for a R5 Rosewill

Cons: USB ports look flimsy; no USB adapter, read "Other thoughts"

Other Thoughts: Since my internal USB 3.0 19 pin port is already occupied by the chassis's front I/O ports, I'm looking for an adapter USB 3.0 19 pin male to USB type A male, which would allowme to plug it in a chassis back port to the motherboard.

3 out of 5 eggsWarning

Pros: Stylish, easy to install and can read anything

Cons: WARNING - the external USB jack is 3.0 but the card reader headers are only USB 2.0. Manufacturer customer support was prompt with their reply to my slow transfer report and admitted their advertising might not be perfectly clear.

1 out of 5 eggsSD port stopped working after a few months, still waiting for replacement

Pros: Looks good, convenient, fast

Cons: SD port stopped working after several months. Got an RMA number and shipped it back to NZXT. One month later, no replacement, no refund, no response. Horrible!!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Unit

Pros: Easy install, looks great with mesh front case, fast I/O. Tested speeds with USB 3.0, and a couple of class 10 SDHC/microSDHC cards. Immediate recognition of attached storage device in Windows 8.1 Pro when drive/card plugged in.

Cons: None yet, but only installed last night.

Other Thoughts: R/W speeds are on par with any other USB 3.0 interface.
You'll want to make sure that you have a 19 pin USB 3.0 header on your MB, or get yourself an expansion card that supports it. This reader needs both a standard USB 2.0 header and a USB 3.0 header for power and I/O.

4 out of 5 eggsFantastic

Pros: Looks great
Installed easily
Working perfectly, no issues.

Cons: The cables were really long, probably necessary for some cases and motherboards, but certainly not for mine. Not a major issue, the cable management in my case is pretty easy, so I was able to tuck them nicely behind everything else.

Other Thoughts: Despite the crooked USB ports in the picture, mine are straight.

Cannot comment on the durability, just installed it. This is more or less my first impression of the product.

2 out of 5 eggsDecent product, non-existant customer service

Pros: Looks nice and fills entire 5.25" drive bay. Matches mesh design on Corsair D series cases. Easy to use when it works.

Cons: Card reader died in just over 13 months. NZXT never responded to my support ticket. I had previously contacted NZXT regarding another product and they didn't reply to that ticket either. Calling it terrible customer service would be disingenuous because there is no customer service at all.

3 out of 5 eggsTake a look at the photo...

Pros: See other thoughts.

Cons: Quality?

Other Thoughts: I was considering buying this...but take a look at how poorly fitted the USB Ports are (photo of front view enlarged). I hope that is not indicative of the quality of this unit...that would bother me if the panel is in plain sight.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear NA,

If you have any questions for us, please note that we are available via our online Helpdesk at URL: http://nzxt.com/support/ either via Live Chat or the Submit A Ticket option, anytime from the hours of 9:30-5:00pm PST M-F.
