5 out of 5 eggsPretty Colors

Pros: Easily mounted in a 5" drive bay. Nice RGB blending. Adhesive backing does a decent job, but I ended up using zip tie mounts and zip ties to secure them around the perimeter of my case.

Controller has a nice variety of functions, especially for the price of the unit. The LED's are more than bright enough and numerous enough to light up even the larger ATX towers out there.

Being able to dim the lights is a very nice touch, sometimes a bright case can interfere with one's gaming or work experience.

Cons: The unit itself feels like cheap plastic, because it is. But who cares? The price is great, it doesn't look bad, and it would be a waste to build them out of steel.

Not really a major con, but it would have been cool to pay more for one that linked up with the computer, and featured software to program light shows/looks. I'm a lighting designer by trade though, maybe people don't care about this as much as I do. And I'm content to leave them on the color scrolling mode anyway.

Only real con is the construction of the strip itself. They seem to have chosen a flat weatherproof style strip, which is nice for durability in humid environments. But NZXT has other LED strips out there that feature a braided cable with nodes all over it.

As a result of the flat design, turning corners and getting the lights to point where I wanted them to was difficult, but not impossible. Not worth knocking an egg off.

Other Thoughts: I put these in a Cooler Master HAF XB Evo case. The build is only a day or two old, but I already love the glow the lights put on it.

If you're building a case and want some pretty lights, go for this, and buy non-LED fans with better speeds and noise levels instead.

4 out of 5 eggsvery good

Pros: - unlimited colors with RGB
- simple to install
- multiple lighting modes
- 5 brightness settings
- looks great inside and outside your pc
- controller has a solid build

Cons: - there is no true white, looks like a very light blue
- the 3m backing tape isn't very strong

Other Thoughts: I think this is a product to buy for any pc price, its priced nicely and looks great. I do wish the backing tape was stronger, but you can easily use something like zip ties or invisable tape. this product makes my $1700 pc look even better, I am very happy i bought it and i think you should too!

5 out of 5 eggsWorks well

Pros: -RGB combo gives a ton of color option
-LEDs are super bright at max brightness
-LED strip is 2m, more than enough to wrap around my Corsair 760t
-Flashing/Breathing modes give it a unique look
-looks decent in my 5 1/4 bay.

Cons: -Sticky side is not ideal for re-arranging the LED strip

Other Thoughts: I left the adhesive side alone and just taped the strip in place with clear tape, so I could move it around if necessary

5 out of 5 eggsIn Love

Pros: - Customizable
- Bright
- Easy to Install
- Low Power Draw
- Different modes

Cons: - Colors change on RGB dials
- Adhesive backing

Other Thoughts: I bought this to go into a black and white build, hoping it would make it look like my components matched whatever color the LEDs were set to. This worked out beautifully, letting me adjust the custom color on my machine's interior whenever I feel like it. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for LED lighting outside the standard red, blue, etc. (I wanted pink).

I really am not a fan of the fact that this is mounted into the case with adhesive backing. I would have preferred for this to come with zip ties or something else that's not sticky. That said, I did not use the adhesive when arranging the LED cable in my case (Fractal Design Define R5 w/side window). With a little creative pushing and some pressure around the fans and drive bays, the cable is still in place. If you looked too close inside the case you could probably see it's not perfectly straight, but the strip is generally out of the field of vision.

I also wish there were a utility that would make the LEDs adjustable by hex code, aside from just the knobs. This is really not a big deal, but I think it would have been a cool feature.

5 out of 5 eggsEasy to install and looks ok

Pros: Arrived in just a few days.

Was very easy to install. Especially in my Corsair 600t. The case has a tabs that hold the strip in place while I see if like it before adhering to the case.

Cons: Wish it was a bit brighter. Read a lot of complaints about the adhesive not holding after a while and awaiting to see what I'll do when that happens.

4 out of 5 eggsRead This Before Purchasing

Pros: -All colors and modes work as advertised.
-Bright but not ultra "I can see everything at night" bright.
-Fits the Fractal R5 window ver. and makes it look outstanding.
-Good length
-Happy

Cons: -Adhesive is not good, buy better adhesive.

I knocked off an egg because the adhesive problem is real. I noticed if you try pealing off the cardboard paper strip that lays on top of the adhesive in any way fast, the adhesive would detach from the LED strip and sticks to the cardboard paper strip. Try removing the cardboard paper strip slowly and make sure its not pealing anything off. The adhesive is semi-good and it might last you a month tops but to be sure, use some double sided 3M tape to take care it.

Other Thoughts: For the people that are saying that they only get red and green LED colors, it happened to me too. I felt disappointed and was about to call it quits, but I managed to figure it out, ONCE I READ THE MANUAL. All it takes is trying either connection on the end of the strip , flipping the power connector on either side, and having your machine powering it to see if it worked before laying it down. Once I did that blue, magenta, and Captain Planet showed up. Toggle with the connector that goes into the LED strip, it worked for me.

Overall happy with the product and if I encounter any other problems, I will update my post.

4 out of 5 eggsLooks Nice

Pros: Looks Nice and seems to work well. Bright, and has many different functions.

Cons: The left knob is not aligned perfectly, so the line wont go perfectly straight up.

A lot of the LED's do not work. They haven't powered on. Don't know why.

Other Thoughts: Worth it on sale, but a bit disappointed in the fact that a lot of LEDs dont work right out of the box. The ones that do work great though.

1 out of 5 eggsNOT BRIGHT! RGB FUNCTIONS DO NOT WORK

Pros: Made by NZXT

Cons: 1. Not bright
2. Modes do not work as advertised.
3. RGB FUNCTIONS DO NOT WORK ! ONLY EMITS IN GREEN AND RED
4. $40 for something thst doesn't work.

Other Thoughts: When you watch every single review of this product it makes the LED lights look bright and blinding. The lights in my CM Megaflow case fans drown out any light the hue puts out. False advertising and I am highly disappointed in Newegg and NZXT for selling me a busted item. My $7 Logisys meteor lights are 50x brighter than this.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, Valued NZXT Customer
We greatly appreciate the feedback on our Hue controller; there have been issues with users plugging in the three pin connector to the hue backwards. This would result in not being able to get the blue color code. So what you would need to do is check the 4 pin connector at the end of the Hue controller and switch it around. This will reside the issue with the color coordination error. If your also having an issue with your LED strip fading out please visit support.nzxt.com and submit a parts replacement.
Kind regards,
NZXT Support.

5 out of 5 eggsAWSOME!!!

Pros: Very cool RGB controller.

Wraps all the way around my Rosewill Viper Z mid-tower case with probably close to 8 inches (20cm) to spare.

Cons: Some of the different lighting modes like the flashing are annoying, in my opinion.

Other Thoughts: If you're looking into buying this I'm assuming you have a side panel window or are one of those people that likes to go "commando" (leaving your side panel off) and are wanting to light up your system to give it that custom look (not to mention match what ever color theme you may have going on) without spending a ton of money. Well then this is a great way to do it. It comes with several different modes; most of which I find kind of annoying but I bought this thing because I felt it would really set my new build off and I'm in no way disappointed. I was able to easily get it to the color I wanted and I feel it really adds that pop that makes your system go from looking good to looking amazing.

5 out of 5 eggsEasy, Makes for a beautiful rig: Great AIO Lighting Kit.

Pros: Easy install, simple to use, bright and effective control. Allows an almost decadent degree of eye candy tuning; I've got mine in a NZXT 530 full tower, and have the variable LED X61 Kraken cooler on the cpu, and it's a pretty stunning total effect with the Hue providing ambient blue against the red Radeon accent light, red Gskill memory and red Asus digital display and the alternating setting on the X61 red to blue.

Cons: If you aren't used to setting color by RGB values, it's going to be a mystery to you getting just the color you want using the dials. I'd suggest turn all values down, then bring each one up one at a time, the two at a time until you get the hang of it, then fiddle with the other settings.
