5 out of 5 eggsExaclty what I needed

Pros: Works exactly the way I want to. I don't have PWM hooked up so the buttons act as a simple on/off switch.

Cons: PCB is a bit close to screw holes. You will grind against the PCB in order to screw it in tightly.

Other Thoughts: Would have liked 4 outputs, but 3 will do since I didn't need 6 outputs.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks very well!

Pros: Small and compact. Comes with manual control knobs and an automatic setting for up to 3 fans.

Cons: The instruction manual was kinda vague so if you are at a low tech level, you may be a bit confused.

Other Thoughts: If you only want control of 1-3 fans then this is perfect for you. I had two extremely loud case fans and this allowed me to slow them down to reduce noise.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works well with Delta FFB1212EH-F00.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Fits kinda weird in my cooler master haf-912, but that's not really sunbeam's fault, it's just an awkward case for 3.5 inch removable storage drives and controllers and such.

5 out of 5 eggsOh boy, do I hate Dell.

Pros: Works flawlessly
Looks and feels very solid
Aesthetically, it will fit in fine with most cases that have a black faceplate.

Cons: Because I installed this fan controller in my horrible Dell desktop, there are two major issues. First, the controller is too large to fit in the faceplate. I'm going to contribute this to Dell's poor build quality, and I'm not docking any eggs for it. Second, since Dell uses some of the cheapest PSU's on the planet, when I hooked up the Molex cable to the fan controller, I found out that the cable isn't long enough for the fan controller to reach the front of my case, meaning it's recessed about 2 inches into the drive bay. Again, I'm not docking any points for Dell using inferior parts, especially since it's not TOO much of a hassle to reach inside with my fingers, and I can still easily make adjustments.

Other Thoughts: Great product; allowed me to drop my GPU's temperature by about 10 degrees Celsius (idle) and about 15 during heavy load.

5 out of 5 eggsperfect for my application

Pros: i am at 2 years with this controller and it is still going strong. i havent upgraded to liquid cooling, so i have a few LOUD fans in my case to keep things cool. this controller does perfect. When i am gaming i turn all my fans on max, put my noise cancelling headphone in and go away. if i am surfing the web, i can turn off my fans and work with a super quiet computer. no problems...

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggs3-fan controller

Pros: Worked out of the box. Does exactly what I needed it to do. For those who aren't aware, it controls power output to the fans and not the RPM itself. I can turn on my fans' LEDs without actually making the fans spin. Kind of nice. I also didn't connect it to the motherboard so pushing the manual/automatic control buttons serves as an off/on switch so I don't even have to mess with the knobs if I don't want to. Also the black mesh front of the controller blends in PERFECTLY with the black mesh front of my Rosewill Challenger case so that's awesome. The unit itself feels decently durable. Had pretty much no issues connecting two 3-pin fans and 1-four pin fan using the included adapter. Wish it included another 3-pin fan extender but I just used the controller cable. Overall extremely pleased with the purchase thus far. This was exactly what I needed and is doing exactly what I want which is rare. It's almost working out too perfectly--I expect it to fail. Knock on wood.

Cons: None so far. I love this little guy.

Other Thoughts: My case has capacity for 5 fans and I just keep the rear one plugged into the motherboard and the front one going at all times to have constant air flow even during low-load. This lets me crank up my other three fans during gaming or editing or turn them off completely to cut down on the considerable noise from the two in the side panel. Even when I have them going at the minimum power output I still don't get any noise which is super awesome.

4 out of 5 eggsnice controller....

Pros: -30w per channel - see other thoughts
-man/motherboard controled
-clean

Cons: -molex plug is difficult (-1 egg)

Other Thoughts: 30w/ch = 2.5A. To put this in perspective, the 190CFM 120mm Deltas use 1.6A (19.2w). sorry the 250CFM fans sold on newegg both Delta and 1st PC corp use more than this can handle. I read on another review (other web site) that this is capable of handling far more power if the already large heat sinks are upgraded with a small fan added.

the auto fan control setting is very cool. 1 wire plugs into the mobo (cpu or case fan 4 pin) and controls any of the fans you select. there is a button under each knob that lects auto or man.

the molex plug was a bit hard to plug in (-1 egg) because i identically pulled the plug off the board trying to plug it in using the force needed. If I could buy another controller i wouldn't, this thing rocks!

5 out of 5 eggsDecent - works out of box.

Pros: So far there has been no complaints in functionality as it works out of the box without issues.

- The supplied cables were mostly sufficient.
- Has the best feature/price ratio of a 3.5" bay PWM fan controller while providing ample power output per header.
- Glossy black grill coating matches well with my Black Ultra Microfly Case.

Cons: - Does not come with a MOLEX splitter cable to supply power from the PSU rather than the Source Fan Header.
- Would have been nice if it would enable one to control the overall PWM->Voltage power with the knob as well so as to set a hard min/max limit on the speeds. Would have provided far more flexibility in controlling fan speeds considering the controller is using only 1 PWM source header.
- The foam pad on the PCB underside while a nice touch for as an insulating barrier would have been better if it were more easily removable rather than glued on with a strong adhesive.
- Loses ~1.1v on the PWM outputs which is negligible but expected.

Other Thoughts: Though it's a nitpick - there should either have been a separate set of mounting holes to mount it upside-down in the drive bay. For most cases the External 3.5" bay is the bottom most bay right above a fan intake.

Mounting it upside down would have exposed the heatsinks of the Rheosmart's MOSfets directly to the incoming air flow. In normal mounting position it is being cramped against the bottom of the drive above it which makes me wonder the effectiveness of keeping it cool with 3 or more high-cfm [Delta] fans attached. Nothing some mods can't fix when the time comes however.

2 out of 5 eggsIsn't a fan controller supposed to control speed?

Pros: 30 watts per channel, using splitters doesn't affect fan speed, and LED's are not bright and annoying as I feared. Connectors on the back are fairly solid once connected, unlike other controllers I've used.

Cons: Manual control does not work properly, and turning the knob part way makes fans turn off, when the fans are designed for variable speed and the same fans work great with my Kaze Master in another machine.

Limited mounting options prevents it from mounting flush with my case, it sticks out a good centimeter, and feels rather flimsy.

Other Thoughts: I bought this controller for it's manual control capability, and there are limited options when it comes to 3.5 bays. If I wanted the PWM feature, I would plug in directly to the mobo, as I have enough headers.
