5 out of 5 eggsWorks like a champ, backwards use

Pros: Had a rear fan port on my Corsair Air 540. It is optional, 140mm or 120mm mount, I mounted a 120mm fan there as an exhaust, but it left a gap around the sides of the fan to let air escape, This adapter allowed me to create a virtually air tight seal there to allow the fan to do its job better.

It is backwards compatible.. If you haven't guessed, you can use this to mount a 120mm fan to a 140mm fan port........ OR........ a 140mm fan to a 120mm fan port. ...

GLHF!

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I had to cut a tiny whole out of the side of this to allow for the case screw that holds to top of the side panel on to go back through its own hole.

Took me about 4 seconds to do with a box cutter..

But don't be fooled, the plastic is very sturdy on this adapter.

3 out of 5 eggsExpect trouble with stock screws

Pros: -None, other than It does as advertised.

Cons: -The plastic is cheap, don't expect this to hold more than a simple fan.

-The holes are non threaded, had two of the ends crack while trying to put in stock screws, stopped after the first two and eventually found smaller ones that passed through.

Other Thoughts: save yourself the trouble and get some super glue in advanced, gonna need it after you break a few corners trying to get stock screws in.

5 out of 5 eggs...nothin' but net

Pros: Thin enough (about 12-13mm). Adaptable (sorry, couldn't resist). Quality of manufacture.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I wanted to change the 120mm case fan on the side of my Rosewill Challenger mid-tower to a 140mm fan to move air into the case a bit more quietly, and put the air source a little closer to my HD7850 GPU (which has a stock, so-so cooler).

The adapter and fan had to clear both the large Thermaltake NiC C4 CPU cooler and the GPU.

It did.

...and, after all, what higher compliment can you give an adapter but to say "it works".

Recommend.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Useful

Pros: Right now it is used to support an NZXT Kraken x40 on my NZXT Phantom case. My case has a 120mm rear exhaust port and it let me place the 140mm cooler listed above with no problem.

Cons: Was on sale even though it is cheap as it is!

Other Thoughts: Hold weight of a fairly large cooler.

4 out of 5 eggs120mm radiator mount

Pros: Works, just strong enough to hold a push/pull 120mm radiator

Cons: I got this for a very specific radiator application - read other thoughts.

Other Thoughts: this bracket is intended for 120mm vent to 140mm fan, if you want to reverse this you need to machine some screw in order to mount it. if you are considering to use this as a 140mm fan to a 120mm radiator funnel, you should also consider counterflow - it will negate some of the airflow and reduce CFM.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect for what I needed done

Pros: I'm using this with an external exhaust fan on a Rosewill Challenger case. My cpu fan (Hyper 212+) wasn't able to have a push/pull fan setup because it would bump against the internal 140mm top case fan, so I bought the 38mm thick 120mm Scythe fan, and mounted it (and this adapter) to the outside of my case, and installed push/pull fans on the 212+. Temps are cooler throughout the entire case now.

Cons: You might want to get some rubber gaskets as well, as the vibration of a fan right up against this might make a rattling sound, depending on how tightly you screw it down.

Also, if you install a fan externally like I did, you might want to use a fan controller as well, to cut down on some noise.

Other Thoughts: The scenario I described above (installing 120mm fan into 140mm slot) is the exact reason I bought this adapter, and it works perfectly. I imagine it would work just as well installing a 140mm fan into a 120mm slot, but I cannot confirm that.

5 out of 5 eggsfilter mount

Pros: used to install Silverstone FF141B 140mm Fan Filter to 120mm intake fan!

Cons: None, used epoxie to mount.

Other Thoughts: Glued 4 small magnets to flange of adapter. works great.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Cheap and simple fan adapter.

Cons: Did not come with the screws I needed, but I was putting this on a radiator and not case.

Other Thoughts: Purchased to allow me to use a high static pressure 120mm fan on a 140mm rad. Little fiddly to install correctly as I had to purchase different screws to get the job done. Also there was not a good seal around the 120mm fan, so airflow was not directed. I used bathroom sealant to complete the job. In all fairness if this was to be used as directed and advertised then it should be ideal.

3 out of 5 eggsFor a 140mm fan only

Pros: I assume for fitting a 140mm fan to a 120mm hole it would be fantastic. See other thoughts. Newegg as always was awesome, but I can't return it as I would actually lose money sending it back.

Cons: Don't trust the plastic to hold anything more than a very light case fan. It will hold what it was designed for, not an ounce more.
The slots that look like you can get a screw into, you actually can't. Not a machine screw, not a bolt, nothing. Screws can be installed from the other direction, but not through the slots, which begs the question, why the slots are there in the first place.
The 140mm mounting holes are slotted, and are just big enough that normal fan mounting screws don't work with them.

Other Thoughts: I was trying to redirect my Intel radiator to another spot in my case, and thought I could use this to mount the 120mm fan to a 140mm mounting hole. That part is my fault I guess.

5 out of 5 eggsYou get what you expect

Pros: Works very well. It will add a small bit of depth but you should already know that.

The mounting holes are slotted so if your holes are a bit off it will work.

Comes with screws.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: It pretty much did exactly what I needed.
