5 out of 5 eggsI'm not a fanboy--but Lenovo is awesome

Pros: Durable and reliable. Installation is ridiculously simple.

Cons: 0

Other Thoughts: You can trace my history by the trail of broken and expired laptop parts--most of them bearing the DULL logo (there are a few dead Compaqs back there, too).

I've never had a moment of worry with Lenovo ThinkPad laptops or accessories. They've held up flawlessly under every kind of circumstance. Every time I've needed a tough, road-worthy workhorse, Lenovo has been my reliable go-to brand.

Yes, they're more expensive but I'm happy to pay more for a product I can count on.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Allows for a SATA-III hard drive to be installed in the Ultrabay. Tool-less installation.

Cons: Accepts 7mm and 9.5mm height HDD's

Other Thoughts: If you have a W520 you need Lenovo FRU 0A65623 not currently available on Newegg. The height of this adapter is not sized properly for the newer Thinkpads and you will be left with a 2mm gap.

1 out of 5 eggsLarge gap on some systems...

Pros: Newegg is great as always... Product works...

Cons: This is NOT Newegg's problem; rather a problem with Lenovo. Please note this is a 9.5mm bay and will leave a gap on some newer system e.g. Lenovo W520 with 12.7mm bay. Lenovo needs to get their act together on this... I contacted Lenovo a few times about this; and they just state that the gap is normal. Don't get me wrong, I really like Lenovo products, but this is a big fail on their part this time!

3 out of 5 eggsLenovo 43N3412 Serial ATA III

Pros: Easy to use works all the time!

Cons: At the time of this posting there are two other posts one from a T410 and one from a W510. If you have the W510 there is a larger slot for a larger (thicker) drive so if you don't get the bigger adapter you risk braking off your serial ATA connector inside the computer. Also the comments about the latch being on the bottom of the computer are true this was a real downgrade if you used one with a T60. Change it back Lenovo!

Other Thoughts: Works well but I think the price is steep for what you get. Why do they change the adapter with every new generation of laptop? I am getting tired of buying all new accessories every time I get a new laptop.

5 out of 5 eggsGood investment

Pros: Easy to use. Just put disk in, pop in tray.
Created possibility of having a smaller, cheaper SSD drive and a regular drive in this tray.

Cons: None with the tray itself. The Lenovo T410's design though has a drawback in the sense that it is harder to eject this drive tray. Would need to flip laptop over, harder to do when docked. The older T60 design allowed the ultrabay to be ejected without needing to flip the laptop over.

While it is still technically feasible to eject this Ultrabay tray on the T410 without flipping the laptop over, one would have to feel one's way to flip 2 latches on the bottom of the T410.

Other Thoughts: There is no gap between the laptop body and this ultrabay, as reported by previous reviewer. I simply don't have a gap on my unit.

1 out of 5 eggsDoes NOT fit Lenovo W510

Pros: It works, by all means ...

Cons: The height of this product is 10.5mm which is advertised by LENOVO themselves to FIT the W510 laptops. it DOES fit, but leaves a HUGE gap between it and the laptop body. DO NOT get this if you are going to use it on a W510 lapotp! Get the one that is 12.7mm in height! Couldn't find it on newegg, had to find it elsewhere.

Other Thoughts: I Don't understand why Lenovo advertises this as a fit for the W510, it certainly is not.
