3 out of 5 eggsUnknown Device

Pros: The USB 3.0 ports, Fan controller & headset jacks all work.

Cons: The card reader shows as "unknown device" in device manager, the construction is so bad I can't read the chip labels so I have no idea which controller they are using.

Other Thoughts: Support from the manufacture is non-existent. I really needed the audio jacks as the ones in my case no longer work but I expected everything to work correctly. I have attempted to contact the company for information about the unknown device twice, no answer in two months. Very disappointed.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Perfectly

Pros: Everything works.

Cons: Does seem a bit cheap, but if it works, what complaints can you really have?

Other Thoughts: Make sure you have the required on-board connections for all the different components before you buy!

Read the specifications carefully and make sure you have all of the onboard headers required. For example, I didn't have a spare USB 3.0 header for the USB ports, but I did have a spare USB 2.0 header. I bought a USB 3.0 to USB 2.0 adapter, and worked like a charm:

5 out of 5 eggsWorks better than expected

Pros: Fan controllers - I'm using it to control a couple 120 mm Antec fans, works perfect. The USB 3 cable plugged easily into my botherboard. The USB 2 cable (for the sdcards) plugged right into an available USB 2 connector on the motherboard. All of the card readers I was able to test worded (SD, micro SD, compact Flash.) I also connected the eSATA connector, but didn't have a way to test that. I read some reviews that the construction was flimsy, maybe that lowered my expectations as its construction seemed sturdy to me. HD Audio plugged right into my mother board and is the only con.

Cons: When I plugged my headset in and had the fan controller turned down, I heard some interference. It went away when I turned my fan speed up. It Probably could use some better filtering, but perhaps I have a bad ground somewhere. Since I use a USB headset and rarely use my standard headset, this isn't a big deal to me.

Other Thoughts: This unit far exceeded my expectations and looks nice in my black steel case.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Perfectly!

Pros: I wish I could delete my previous review.

I got the Front Panel to work perfectly, everything. I had to hook the Headphone/Mic ports up to my HD pins on my motherboard (not the AC 97) and likewise change the settings in the Bios.

I found the proper USB pins to connect to for the media card readers and it works great as I tested a few Micro SD Cards in a larger adapter. I had to remember where the 4 pins went on my motherboard, and once they were in correctly (over a 9 pin area... using the top 4 pins) it worked great.

I hooked up the USB 3.0 pins to my USB 3.0 PCI Card and the Front Panel USB works properly as well.

Cons: None really, I thought about hooking my Zalman Heatsink fan up to one of the Fan switches but I don't think I can as my Zalman cable simply goes from the motherboard to the fan with it's own switch that is connected to a wire I hang out the back of the PC. I honestly never change the speed anyway as it is always on high due to producing no or little sound anyway.

Other Thoughts: Great product for the price. I do not know if my PC's motherboard can handle USB 3.0, I know it did not offer it since it's old so I purchased a USB 3.0 2 port PCI Card. That card had pins I hooked this front panel into. Besides my 3.0 Survivor USB Flash Drive I do not have anything USB 3.0 to test. But as of now the Front Panel Device offers Audio via Headphones, (I haven't tested the Mic port), it has 2 USB ports working, and the media card readers work like they are supposed to. I always have the option of hooking optional fans into the Fan switches if needed, but I never worry about fan speeds or sounds as my case is large enough and thick enough that sounds do not factor in to being a bother ever.

5 out of 5 eggsUSB Works!

Pros: I hooked the USB 3.0 up to my USB 3.0 PCI Card as it had a pin set for any type of extension or connector. Tested the USB and it works great, not sure if it was 3.0 but it was fast and that's all I need in the front!

Cons: I tried hooking up the AC 97 Audio by connecting to the motherboard, Enabled it in the Bios but no sound came out the front Mic port.

I have the Media Card Reader hooked up to one of my open SATA ports on the board but it wasn't reading the SD Card I tried via an adapter through the SD/MMC.... I will have to figure out how to get the front panel reading media cards as I forget since my old model I previously had broke and I took it out weeks ago.

Other Thoughts: I really just wanted USB (3.0 or not) in the front through a slit I cut in my cases front side. It works like advertised which is great. I recently converted an Apple Power Mac G5 Tower so I could put my ASUS ATX system inside it. Everything is working great inside it and there is plenty of room for fans and toys.

I have no use for the eSATA as of now... I would just like to hookup the front panel audio for headphones and the media card reader. I guess I will have to play around a bit. I wasn't willing to remove a star as this product was cheap and got my USB in the front. I also need to properly mount this product as it is sitting one something mounted on the inside and kind of hangs out of the case as I did not have a proper tray since this is a customized case.

2 out of 5 eggsAll in One Not!

Pros: HD Stereo, fan controller, USB3.0 connector, and eSATA works well.

Cons: Don't let the price fool you! Cheap Plastic, almost free floating in case. Card reader doesn't work! Spent many hours looking for a fix. Don't waste any more with this product, move on.

Other Thoughts: The card reader is why I purchase this product . Cost to little to send back and to much to let go so I'm stuck!

3 out of 5 eggsLots of features, but a let down.

Pros: Has many features in 1 5.25" drive bay. nice brushed aluminum finish

Cons: the fan controller seems to keep fans spinning very high when turned all the way down and about past 60% of a turn, the knobs no longer raise speed.

Other Thoughts: would have been perfect for me in my mini itx case if it wasn't for the knobs not working like the should

4 out of 5 eggsUnique Abilities

Pros: Fan controller, card reader, and USB3.0 connector, and eSATA all in one!

Until now (July 2013) I found no other that provides such a basic but comprehensive collection of functions in 1 5.25 inch bay!

A MUST HAVE MINI-CASES!

Cons: Low quality build:
1. Seriously flimsy knobs (one of them keep falling off)
2. Plastic not sturdy in front panel. Almost broke off while installing.

Non modular connections. So, if you don't need the HDD connector, you cant disconnect the wire :/ you gotta crumble it up in there

Other Thoughts: I wish they make an S.E version thats more expensive but is better quality. I would pay double for a well constructed all in one drive bay

3 out of 5 eggs eeh

Pros: Usb 3 internal header, single usb 2 plug for the card reader, esata, audio. All connectors except the usb3 are removable

Cons: One of the fan controllers( the right one or number 2) dosent work, I'm gonna figure out how to fix it. The whole thing is a little flimsy. And like stated somewhere else that the cards stick out from the housing, not a big deal since I don't use them that often

Other Thoughts: If I can fix the other controller I would've given it 4 eggs. And the fifth if the usb3 header was removable from the front.

2 out of 5 eggsToo Flimsy for me

Pros: Full featured: Audio, USB 3, fan control, probably works fine.

Cons: Pins in the (molex) power connector were loose - nearly free-floating! I tried to get them to line up for about 15 minutes, gave up.

Other Thoughts: The main mounting screw-holes near the front don't line up w/ anything in my particular case, I was afraid I couldn't even mount it properly. Fortunately there are six more smaller holes towards the back of the unit, one row was visible through the mounting bracket. No "standard" size screws worked, but some small almost wood-type screws fit fine. (The plastic shell has some re-enforced area to take the screws.)
