4 out of 5 eggsgood switches, bad frame

Pros: The switches are extremely sturdy, currently powering 17 fans (yes 17)
in a Rosewill BlackHawk Ultra case. Nothing overheats.

Cons: The frame that holds the switches is not extremely sturdy

Other Thoughts: switching the sturdy switches cause the frame to bend?

5 out of 5 eggsnicely made

Pros: Durable, simple, and multiple and over all good looking.
Put it in my Antec 300 and it powers all the fans with ease.

Cons: My LEDs won't light up and when I turn my fans to low power the LEDs on the fans shut off

Other Thoughts: Good product, good price, I recommend it to anyone who doesn't want the fancy touch screen but wants a good controller

3 out of 5 eggsSolid but assembled incorrectly

Pros: Durable construction
Solid switches
Simplicity

Cons: Limited voltage/speed control
LED colors (only red for 7 volts and blue for full 12 volts)
No kitchen sink: temp readout, touchscreen, garage door opener, jet pack

Other Thoughts: The simplicity is a double edged sword. Only 3 settings are on/off, 7 volts, and 12 volts. Therefore, the medium setting may not be low enough for cut the noise for some fans. Beware. I have used the Lamptron on Sickleflo, excalibur, oem stock fans, and cougars with great success. I would be curious to test it on the higher speed/louder Scythes.

My one pet peeve is that the switches were installed upside down. I had to disassemble the thing thing and flip it around.

5 out of 5 eggsI went with the black version.

Pros: Very solid construction. Went with the black version of this. Blue LED means fast. Red LED means slow. Be careful of damaging the switches as they will stick out from the front of your case.

Cons: Maybe price, though it was worth it to me.
I would not personally buy the metallic color, but tastes vary.

Other Thoughts: Since I have a Corsair case, I had to remove the plastic locking mechanism for the 5.25 bays to install this. Those are easy to remove without breaking.

It would be cool if they added a switch to select color of LED indicators, though that probably is asking too much.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Fan Controller

Pros: We use 4 Supermicros and 2 Chenbro servers for home theater. Server fans run at 5000 rpm count is 6 or 8 per case. Fan controllers are equal in importance to fans themselves. Issues are: High drive count means above normal air through put is needed. internal hot spots, reverse flow or stagnant air in the PSU; lint buildup and of course noise. Now, server cases are 27 inches long to allow for mid mounting of intake fans. These pull external air through the HDs and deliver somewhat laminar flow over the MB. Unlike desktop cases all of the air is going in one direction, which minimizes hot spots. The CPU fan or radiator is going to muck this up a bit. The Video card such as Nvidia will pull in some of the flow and move it out the back. Areca and most other disk controllers have weak and poorly designed fans made worse by all of the sata connectors. Finally, the exit fans are critical. If the rear case exit fans must balance the exit fan in the PSU. cont. in other thoughts

Cons: They should make more black ones.

Other Thoughts: So the intake mid fans less the exit flow, less the video card flow should still give us some flow through the PSU. The cases have two exit fans and with the Fannatic high low settings gives us about 5 flow rate selections in the rear and more than 20 flow rates in the mid fan baffle. How cool is that.

The Areca controllers will tell us the each HD temp and the controller(s) itself. The pressure drop upflow of the mid baffle can be minimized until the HD temps begin the rise. Now adjust the exit fans to allow flow to exit through the psu. We should do 2 or 3 iterations until the noise is minimized. This fan controller can deliver 300 watts of cooling, but each fan should complement the others, not fighting, losing efficiency, but going with the flow.

5 out of 5 eggsFINALLY!

Pros: I'm sorry to say that I didn't buy this from Newegg because I wanted it in black and unfortunatly they don't have it but nontheless I just had to rate this, here at Newegg.
This works great. I had another brand with the LED readout and it lasted an hour, sent it back, got a replacement and again about an hour, gone. Company sent me a different one supposed to be better, again the front got so hot I had to shut my computer down. Spent about two weeks playing arround and waiting for replacements. Finally I bought this one and it works like a charm. LED's are really cool, Blue foor low, Red for high and the lights are not super bright, just right for me anyway.

Cons: The product comes with 4 allen screws with nuts. IMO, screws would have been better, not to many things on a computer (at least mine anyway) uses an allen wrench. Nice touch though but not practical.

Other Thoughts: I'm guessing why I burned up 3 other controllers is because of the wattage these fans I have use. 45watts is a lot for a 120mm fan, my fault cause I should have thought of the wattage not the voltage(I'm no electrician)but I wanted lots of air and even at low speed these things put out one heck of a lot of air. Now I can hear myself think while my puter is nice and cool.

2 Delta 5500rpm, 253cfm, 45watts and these fans are putting out roughly half of what their rated at(Lots of air) and I still have the other half if I need it. Overkill? Maybe. But I like it.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Item

Pros: I bought the black version (which Newegg is currently out of, and has been for two months. I had to buy from somewhere else!), and stuck it in an Antec 902 case. Looks fantastic.

It's made from steel! You won't be breaking it any time soon.

The switches look great, and function/click nicely.

Comes with nice, long cables to connect the fans (a note about the fan connectors in the cons), and comes with a 4pin molex extender to help you hide the cable behind the motherboard if you choose.

Blue/Red LEDs are nice and bright.

Overall, great product - and difficult to find! (they seem to be pretty popular)

Cons: After installing it, I notice there are slight gaps at the top and bottom. It's pretty thin, but you can see through it which may bother some people. I could -almost- fit a dime through the space, but not quite.

It wasn't a problem with my case, as all of my other 5.25 devices fit fine/have no spacing issues. I also took the controller out and re-seated it just to be sure.

Fan Connections - If you intend to connect 4pin fans to this device, you will need an adapter as the connectors on the controller are 3pin.

Other Thoughts: As stated in the pros above... the LEDs on this are bright! I was fine with it, because they look quite nice. However, for some people this may be a con if you don't like extremely bright lights on the front of your case.

I have an Antec 902 case filled with blue LEDs, and the LEDs on this are the brightest ones in the case.
