1 out of 5 eggsAVOID

Pros: Looks good when installed.

Cons: Quality control is non-existent.

Other Thoughts: Picked up this unit since it has multiple display color options - it's more expensive than some models, but I wanted something to match the red and black theme I've got going.

Unit was essentially DOA. The backlighting works fine in all color modes, but the LCD itself does not work - the numbers never open to allow the backlighting to show through.

I have quality, 3 pin fans, as required, but the unit only powers them if the knobs are turned to MAX, effectively making this thing an expensive on/off switch.

I filed for an RMA already, and I get to pay for the privilege of returning this hunk of junk. Save your money - avoid.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes the job

Pros: 1. Fit into my case nicely
2. LED display is clear and can be read from an angle
3. LED display was easily adjusted to match my case (blue)
4. Temp's are consistent and accurate
5. Looks great in my case
6. Came with 4 braided fan cable extensions, of which I needed one

Cons: 1. Knobs stick out about 1/4" from my Thermaltake G42 Case
2. The knobs are not consistent and each respond slightly differently to touch

Other Thoughts: The temperature readouts are consistent and accurate. I placed two of them directly next to each other and both display the same temperature. The temperature is also consistent with my motherboard which I know to be accurate.

The display color, though easy enough to set while installing, would be a pain to change and would require removing the unit.

Knobs, although they respond differently, work fine. If I was going to be adjusting them frequently I might be concerned about them breaking, but I do not plan to.

I am not docking any eggs because this controller is exactly what I was expecting.

I have only had this controller one day, but if it continues working I would highly recommend it. Only gripe is that I wish it were a bit cheaper.

4 out of 5 eggsHigh Quality

Pros: The high build quality of the Lamptron FC6 Fan Controller is noticeable as soon as you take it out of the box. If you don't want to deal with Speedfan, or your motherboard lacks good fan control utilities or bios features, then this fan controller is exactly what you need.

Cons: My Lamptron FC6 Fan Controller arrived with the fourth 3-pin connector moderately - heavily bent out of shape. I had to gently but forcefully push all 3 pins back into place without breaking them which is not something I appreciate having to do with a brand new $60 item. Over the course of multiple orders I am noticing that Newegg doesn't take the best care with out-going packages because most of the boxes that are delivered from them show up with bent corners and even dents that go all the way thru the cardboard box as if it was thrown into the truck and landed on something pointy, which is an issue I have never had when ordering thru that site that uses Prime shipping (50+ orders).

2 out of 5 eggs#1 Fan Knob DOA, Poorly Made Faceplate

Pros: The three fan knobs that work (#2, #3 and #4) work well. The RPM readouts are nice. I do not use the temperature sensors.

Cons: The first fan knob (#1) is DOA and does not work. I plugged the same fans into any other knob and it works fine.

The front faceplate design is very poor. There are only three screw-holes on each side and none line up well with my Silverstone Raven ATX case. They have an entire 5.25" bay to work with -- they should make a faceplate with more attachment options.

Other Thoughts: I thought by spending a bit more that I would get a more durable, high-quality fan controller. Boy, was I wrong! I'd pay a lot of money for a fan controller that wasn't a cheaply made piece of ____ with a high failure rate. Sadly, this isn't it.

5 out of 5 eggsa functional eye-catcher

Pros: Has many colors to choose from
Pushes enough power through so that splitters can still be used
Knobs do not stick out to far for most case doors, about 1cm
Knobs also have perfect resistance

Cons: Doesn't read the rpms on my 230mm fan, but the fan is cheap and not controller issue, just make sure your fans have at least 3 wires going to the 3 or 4 pin connector.

Other Thoughts: Works great, and even using one of the temp sensors with a 3rd party in-line coolant sensor to monitor my loop

5 out of 5 eggsIcing on the cake

Pros: Adjustable controls for the fans, has RPM & temperature indicators for each fan, and the temperature sensors can be placed at your discretion.

The display is easy to read and you have a choice of 7 colors to help match your build theme or just display in your favorite color.

This is a very nice unit, they have constructed a really solid product. I would purchase from them again.

The instructions are clear and comes with everything you'll need to install this unit. They even threw in a beautiful calender!

Cons: The calender.

It is a very nice desktop calender, well made and with clear images of their other products and tools. I would be proud to display it on my desk. Yes, it's that nice. So when 2012 rolls around again, I will finally be able to use this calender.

The cables are a bit on the "wish they were just a tad longer", but I have the CM Storm Trooper case and I had no issues with cable management.

Other Thoughts: This is a very nice unit and does what it's designed to do and it looks good doing it. The calender thing? Not a deal breaker. I didn't know it came with one, nor did I buy it because of it. Very happy with this purchase.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

Pros: Multi-color display, 4 Temp sensors, choose between Celsius or Fahrenheit, 4 fans up to 20W each

Cons: It sits a little recessed for my liking in a Fractal Arc Midi case, Wiring is a little short for a bigger case if you want to "hide" the wiring but if you have a smaller case it should be fine, they are not real short but for cable management you probably won't be able to, my guess is around 8" for fan leads and close to 12" for sensors, the molex extension is real short

Other Thoughts: I placed two sensors in my crossfire setup and the other two one each on my memory sticks - I did not purchase from the egg due to price, purchased this from a place you can place a bid ;)
