60W x 5 channels - The Most Powerful Fan Controller right now!! Knob based control

The CF525 provides a whooping 60W each through its 5 independent channels for a total of 300W for power hungry cooling devices. To put it in perspective, it can control 10 of the infamous Delta AFB1212GHE-CF00fans (29.4W for each) at full speed at the same time (2 per channel). You will probably need just one CF525 for your entire system's cooling requirement, but make sure you put a good quality 700W power supply alongside with this fan controller, and you will need a PCI-Express 8-pin header from the power supply to power the CF525

5 out of 5 eggsDelta fans no problem bro.

Pros: Can take 6 pin direct from power supply. Can control delta fans ( I have 4 different kinds controls all). Very well made. All cables sleeved. Has satisfying click when turned off.

Cons: The front piece of metal is insanely thick like 5-7mm. were talking like ww2 armored car type thick it seems really wasteful n adds a lot of weight (my case is already heavy bro).

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Unit - Seems to Work Good

Pros: Aluminum front panel. Front dimensions that are exact to Lian Li front panels. Powerful. Supplied cables are covered. Well built. Works good. Fits good. Has an actual on/off switch where at the bottom of the scale the knob clicks off.

Cons: Only one extra 4 pin cable supplied for alternate output other than a regular fan 3 pin connector. Probably ok I guess but they supply cables for everything else and I think this is an oversight. Other than that the only other thing is the spongy foam piece on the bottom for protection from shorts is a little shoddy and looks like an afterthought. They could have designed it slightly different and then used a plastic bottom . All of these electrical/electronic companies don't seem to use actual mechanical engineers in the design process or this sort of thing wouldn't happen. Electrical engineers that do mechanical packaging always fall short. I guess they try to save money but then end up with designs like this....a piece of foam rubber glued to the bottom.

Other Thoughts: I read many comments and reviews here, but mostly on the huge internet store that starts with an 'A' that Newegg doesn't allow reference too, about these fan controllers not being linear for the full scale of the dial. Let me point something out....That non linearity is caused by the fan not the controller....well I guess the controller could be designed differently and maybe account for the fan voltage threshold. Most fans need about 5-7 vdc to even begin to spin and then on top of that they have a minimum rpm they can spin at. So it's not the controller that is having the problem of controlling the fan from zero to 12vdc. I'm not sure about the other Lamptron controllers but this one has a positive on/off switch at the bottom of the dial, full counterclockwise and it clicks off. Then turn it a bit clockwise and it clicks on. In my case my fans are lian li case fans and if you read their specs they need about 5-7 vdc to start running and they aren't going to spin at 1 rpm at the low end, that would be crazy, they have a minimum rpm that eludes me right now but you understand, right. So in my case the dial really works from about 50% to all the way clockwise and the fan spins accordingly at some minimum rpm all the way to its max when full voltage applied. So I don't think you can fault the controller for what is the fans problem. Maybe they make expensive fans that have lower specs in terms of vdc and rpms. or maybe the controller could be designed to click on at 6vdc and then go up to 12vdc. That would give a full scale turn of the dial that may make it easier to control the rpms. So as far as I'm concerned at least for this Lamptron FC-CF525 it works perfect and has tons of power. I'm running about 9 fans off of only two of the outputs and they work fine. I'm going to run my lights off this thing as well especially since it has two 4 pin outputs that will make it easy.
