5 out of 5 eggsGreat value rack-mountable keyboard

Pros: The included tray that the keyboard rests in is well built and appears to be very durable. It mounts very nicely in a 1U space and when closed is out of the way and not very noticeable except for the protruding handle. When open, the unit feels strong enough to rest your hands on while typing without worrying about it bending or warping.

Cons: Layout is a bit different from a full size keyboard, but of course it does have to fit within the limited space. So it is not going to win any awards for most loved keyboard, but it is certainly comfortable enough for occasional use with your rack mounted servers.

Other Thoughts: Be sure to attach the keyboard cable loosely to the arm behind the tray so it does not get pinched on bind on anything above/below the keyboard tray.

1 out of 5 eggssimple mistakes killed it

Pros: It's a decent rackmount keyboard.

Cons: First off, I ordered this keyboard and received an Adesso ACK730PB, the exact keyboard another commenter said was unreliable. The worst part is there is no software for the touchpad which means there's no way to disable the tap to click or adjust the sensitivity

Other Thoughts: I dont like\being sold one thing and getting another, and an overly sensitive touchpad without the driver/software to correct this makes the touchpad usless. A simple thing that makes a huge difference. There's no reason for that.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsGreat product

Pros: Easy to install
Fits perfectly in 1U rack space

Cons: Price
No hardware

Other Thoughts: This is a great rackmount keyboard. Installation took a only minutes, although I had to use my own bolts as it did not come with any hardware. It is strong enough in spite of not rear rail support. Layout is a bit different and will take a bit of time to get used, but no biggie for the occasional times it will be used. My only complaint is that the price is probably double of what a similar non-rackmount keyboard is, but everything that is rackmountable appears to be overpriced. All in all I would not hesitate to purchase this product again if I ever needed to. I have only owned for a few days so I can't comment on reliability, but I will update here if anything goes wrong.

4 out of 5 eggsbuy for the right reason..

Pros: Flexible, waterproof, grips desk surfaces, sufficient cord length, usb (includes adapter)

Cons: Tactile feedback leaves much to be desired, must type accurately.

Other Thoughts: Turns out... having a waterproof keyboard just "feels" good on your desk. I no longer fear having my coffee nearby. I primarily bought these for very specific reasons, and so far, working out great.

1. when my desk is covered with the slaughtered remains of computers, and I need a little extra room to flip a workstation on its side, I can easily flop the keyboard over my monitor (sounds crazy but if you do what I do, you'll do that all the time).

2. makes a perfect shop keyboard (mechanics, and anyone else who gets their hands dirty)

You will want to keep your old keyboard if you plan on writing any books. Typing is kind of a chore unless you are using it for simple system setup, or googles etc.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat unit

Pros: 1U rackmountable, fair price, all-in-one keyboard with touchpad instead of separate mouse, cable management.

Cons: None yet.

Other Thoughts: Great unit, installed in a few minutes, used zipties to attach cables to cable management bracket. Works great!

5 out of 5 eggsCheap but good cheap

Pros: Anything that's made for a rack is always 3 times more expensive than it should be. This one is 1.5 times more expensive. It works, good feel to the K/B. Yeah, the tray's a wee bit wobbly but not horrible. Beside, in a Data Center you're out the door as fast as you can not standing at the server typing out your memoirs.

Cons: Touch Pad, ugh. But that's just how I feel about Touch Pads.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Racked Keyboard

Pros: Great deal, great price, good keyboard.
Very light compared to most other rack mounted products.

Cons: Being used to full sized keyboards, they layout was a bit funky to get used to at first, but like most I do not do all of my dictation with this...
When you slide it out to do your typing, it does not lock into place. Although its not sliding back and forth, after using some products with some rails, you just expect stuff to lock into place when slid outwards. (it does lock when slid inwards though.)

Other Thoughts: The keyboard is not built in with the tray, there are two holes for the keyboard and mouse cords to pass through, if you wanted you could replace the keyboard, so long as it fits with in the trays dimensions.
The construction is not top notch, but its perfect for the price, if need be I would purchase more.

5 out of 5 eggsI like em' lots

Pros: Great Price. Easy to install. I prefer no rear rails. This norco is not very deep and somewhat light weight and I don't think they need them. Its a snap to install, unless you don't know how to run a screw gun. Mine get 5 days/week use and run perfectly.

Cons: Newegg doesn't offer quantity discounts on these!

Other Thoughts: I really like these Norco's. I have had zero problems with them. I own 3 now. I am slowly replacing my adesso brand KB costing $175+ I have had countless problems with those. I don't know if its the rear rails that start messing up the sliding action or what. Also my KB cables go out all the time, and it doesn't fit in a 1u exactly perfect requiring me to adjust the fit of the panels around it. Every adesso I have owned has had a problem at one time or another. The Norco... haven't touched it since the day I put it in.

4 out of 5 eggsdecent value

Pros: inexpensive
easy to install
works fine

Cons: key layout is strange
keys feel spongy and cheap

Other Thoughts: This keyboard does the job intended at a reasonable cost. I have some trouble typing on it, but it is fine for the use intended (occasional server admin work). I certainly don't regret the purchase.
