5 out of 5 eggsMuch better than stock

Pros: These are a completely different chemical compound than what comes stock with the fans. These mounts actually work and don't break after the slightest tug.

Cons: You have to pay extra for these and Silenx doesn't include these high quality mounts with their fans.
These should be included with the fans - period.

5 out of 5 eggsSilenX Fan Mounts

Pros: -Reduce noise from fan vibration
-Durable
-Easy to install in most areas within a case
-Great price for anti-vibration fan mounts

Cons: -Only compatible with open style fan cases
-Difficult to install in certain areas of the computer case, although this would be a problem with all mounts of this type

Other Thoughts: I had no trouble installing these with the aid of a set of needle-nose pliers to get into the tight places. There is a noticable reduction in low frequency noise from my fans since I installed these. In my experience, these were rather durable (I didn't break any of them), and I would definitely buy these again and recommend them.

1 out of 5 eggscould work but not me

Pros: would've worked so well if i'd only had the right fans to put it in.

Cons: I shouldv'e red the reviews first 1st and now i ended up wasting my money. As the reviewers mentioned, its only for fans with an open "mid-section" on its side- I am angry as it doesn't say so in the product description as its hard to judge by the pic. crazy expensive

Other Thoughts: i'm not even sure if this could withstand gaming-heat temperatures as i couldn't even try the darn thing on the side of my case.

4 out of 5 eggsNice and soft; Dimensions not always compatible

Pros: Silicon rubber is very soft and so it absorbs more vibration

Cons: These are only compatible with open frame fans (some other products are compatible with both open and closed frame fans). Furthermore, the frame has to be fairly thin or else the "keeper" slips back through and the fan eventually falls off. For example, these don't work for my favorite fans, Scythe S-Flex, which have a frame that's 5mm thick.

Other Thoughts: Rubber washers are much cheaper but they do little to achieve acoustic isolation because the metal screw is still contacting both the fan and the chassis. Ordinary rubber GROMETS, however, do work fairly well. But then you have to drill out the fan holes in the case so that they will accomodate the diameter of the fan screws plus the thickness of the gromet (unless you use very thin screws with nuts, but then the fan is not very secure since the fame wholes are so much bigger than the screws).

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Pretty inexpensive for the amount you get. They're perfectly capable of holding a fan inside your case.

Cons: These press the fan right up against the metal of your case, so there is effectively no isolation. These aren't long enough to extend through the front and rear mounting holes of my case fans, which made installation difficult in my small form factor case.

Other Thoughts: I bought these because I've enjoyed other brands of silicon fan mounts. These are shorter and the silicon that's used in these is also stiffer than what I'm used to. I would recommend using plain old bolts, perhaps with washers. I don't think this product does anything measurable to sound levels.

3 out of 5 eggsEasier Fix

Pros: It does do what it is designed for remarkably well. It does have a noticeable difference in noise reduction

Cons: Price.

Other Thoughts: There is a simple fix to the price. Visit your local hardware store and buy some rubber washers to place around the screws. They will have virtually the same impact as these. I bought 20 washers for 8 dollars. Thats nearly half the price for the same outcome.

4 out of 5 eggsExpensive, but worth it

Pros: Nice little guys that sure beat cranking on screws all day long.

Cons: Expensive...and hard to use in tight spots. I have two in the front of my case which has no way of removing the HDD rack so I had to use players to get to the mounts!

Other Thoughts: Also good for mounting fan accents like the tornado grills!

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It does reduce noise, and it's pretty easy to use them.

Cons: Like one of the other reviews said, these things are way overpriced for being 20 pieces of molded rubber. Have to knock an egg off for that.

Other Thoughts: I found them to be quite secure. It doesn't work to just push the fan onto the thing, you have to pull on the end as well to seat it properly. You have to make sure the frame of the fan is sitting between the two ridges, and that just doesn't happen if you only push.

5 out of 5 eggsa Silenx product that does what it says (for a change)

Pros: Could not be any easier to use. Rubber is very soft and very supple so it can be used even with very hard to access fans (used it with a fan that I only had access to from one side and no ability to 'thread' the mount thorough; I was still able to install it). Once PROPERLY installed - fan is held in place very securely and it does not come in contact with the case (1mm gap).

Cons: Price. These are 20 pieces of silicone rubber. Like every other Silenx product I have bought so far - these are WAY overpriced.

Other Thoughts: Every other Silnx product i have tried (s4 different kids of fans and hard drive mounting screws) had overblown specs that had noting to do with reality (false dBA figures). These fan mounts actually do what they say will do. A nice change of pace for Silenx. The only common thing with the rest of the offering of Silenx is price that is about 4 times what it should be.

The other reviewer must have not installed the holders properly or else tried to used these with a jet engine of a fan. To be fair - I use low RPM fans so they do not vibrate a whole lot to begin with. There are 'notches' on the rubber holders; one for the case hole; another one for the fan hole. Once holders are installed properly and case and fan sit in their respective 'notches' - fan is held quite securely, does not vibrate and does not touch the case. Perhaps it's a good idea to check the fan after transporting the PC. But I don't see these mounts coming undone when PC is is just sitting in place.

2 out of 5 eggsNot worth it.

Pros: Can be used to mount a fan, as package claims.

Cons: Two of 20 snapped pulling through holes. Fas don't mount securely even when in place. A real pain to use. Even when installed properly the slightest pressure will dislodge the fan.

Other Thoughts: Benefits aren't worth the risk of a something coming loose. Not much by way of noise reduction.
