1 out of 5 eggsSpoke too soon

Pros: Hard to think of any at this point. I was able to repurpose the broken fan mounts as plugs for some holes in the case.

Cons: Every single one of them broke in a week. My previous positive review was posted on the day I installed them-- everything seemed good at that point, and silicone should have good durability, right?

Not in this case. I guess just the little bit of stretch to get them installed was too much (which makes them kind of useless, if the act of installing them ruins them)... it is not even the weight of the fan that did it. I have one fan mounted on the bottom of the case, so that the weight of the fan is not pulling on the mounts, and the mounts on that fan all broke too.

Other Thoughts: Newegg, you need to sell more alternatives to this product.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Easy to install, made of tough but soft silicone, they hold the fan securely, and they work.

Cons: These mounts are meant to be installed into the case first and then the fan added to them. Because of space constraints, that is not always possible. I found that I could still install them into the fan first and then pull, prod, and cajole the flat base of the mount through the case holes, as the silicone is soft enough to allow that. Some other fan mounts have a taper on the case end and can be installed into the case or the fan first, and they definitely would be easier in my case (I ended up installing in the fan first with 10 of the 12 mounts I put in my case). They do look better, though, with the flat base on the rear exhaust fan, than the double tapered ones would.

Other Thoughts: I am not sure why another reviewer said they break... maybe that was an old set or something like that. I pulled these things like crazy and I didn't break or tear any of them.

1 out of 5 eggsGarbage

Pros: none

Cons: Doesn't work.
Falls apart.

Other Thoughts: Utter garbage. They're not strong enough to hold a fan, keep itself in a mounting point, or even withstand your bare-hand pulling force.

I wish I could poke the manufacturer's eyes out with these floppy wastes of money.

2 out of 5 eggsAfter a while they break easy

Pros: Reduces vibration
Easy installation

Cons: After about 2 weeks they fall apart. I found out when I looked in my case and found my exaust fan hanging with only one still intact.
Becauof them always breaking, I used the whole pack within a month

Other Thoughts: My side panel fan is cougar fan and came with its own rubber mounts that ive been using before i got these and they work perfectly still

3 out of 5 eggsNot great.

Pros: - Easy to use.
- No tools required.
- Reduces vibration noise.
- 20 for 10$ is a good deal. (Usually it's 4 for 10$)

Cons: - Not the best quality. (4 of them broke when I removed a fan.)

Other Thoughts: I was really surprised when 4 of them broke, if it wasn't for that, I might have recommended this product, but I can't. You might be getting a lot of them for the price, but they are still expensive and I expected much better results.

5 out of 5 eggsMuch better than stock

Pros: These are a completely different chemical compound than what comes stock with the fans. These mounts actually work and don't break after the slightest tug.

Cons: You have to pay extra for these and Silenx doesn't include these high quality mounts with their fans.
These should be included with the fans - period.

5 out of 5 eggsSilenX Fan Mounts

Pros: -Reduce noise from fan vibration
-Durable
-Easy to install in most areas within a case
-Great price for anti-vibration fan mounts

Cons: -Only compatible with open style fan cases
-Difficult to install in certain areas of the computer case, although this would be a problem with all mounts of this type

Other Thoughts: I had no trouble installing these with the aid of a set of needle-nose pliers to get into the tight places. There is a noticable reduction in low frequency noise from my fans since I installed these. In my experience, these were rather durable (I didn't break any of them), and I would definitely buy these again and recommend them.

1 out of 5 eggscould work but not me

Pros: would've worked so well if i'd only had the right fans to put it in.

Cons: I shouldv'e red the reviews first 1st and now i ended up wasting my money. As the reviewers mentioned, its only for fans with an open "mid-section" on its side- I am angry as it doesn't say so in the product description as its hard to judge by the pic. crazy expensive

Other Thoughts: i'm not even sure if this could withstand gaming-heat temperatures as i couldn't even try the darn thing on the side of my case.

4 out of 5 eggsNice and soft; Dimensions not always compatible

Pros: Silicon rubber is very soft and so it absorbs more vibration

Cons: These are only compatible with open frame fans (some other products are compatible with both open and closed frame fans). Furthermore, the frame has to be fairly thin or else the "keeper" slips back through and the fan eventually falls off. For example, these don't work for my favorite fans, Scythe S-Flex, which have a frame that's 5mm thick.

Other Thoughts: Rubber washers are much cheaper but they do little to achieve acoustic isolation because the metal screw is still contacting both the fan and the chassis. Ordinary rubber GROMETS, however, do work fairly well. But then you have to drill out the fan holes in the case so that they will accomodate the diameter of the fan screws plus the thickness of the gromet (unless you use very thin screws with nuts, but then the fan is not very secure since the fame wholes are so much bigger than the screws).

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Pretty inexpensive for the amount you get. They're perfectly capable of holding a fan inside your case.

Cons: These press the fan right up against the metal of your case, so there is effectively no isolation. These aren't long enough to extend through the front and rear mounting holes of my case fans, which made installation difficult in my small form factor case.

Other Thoughts: I bought these because I've enjoyed other brands of silicon fan mounts. These are shorter and the silicon that's used in these is also stiffer than what I'm used to. I would recommend using plain old bolts, perhaps with washers. I don't think this product does anything measurable to sound levels.
