5 out of 5 eggsWow

Pros: One of the best looking controllers out there, and very accurate too! The mirrored finish was a pleasant surprise.

Cons: You can see your fingerprints, but who cares, wipe them off.

Other Thoughts: I never knew my graphics card reached 100F while idle. Great controller, great design, a must buy!

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome and good looking

Pros: Good looking. This thing will rock out any case. 4 fan controllers would range from turning off the fan to full power. Comes with 2 extra temp sensors and 4 fan extension cords. Temp sensors are long enough to be placed anywhere in the case.

Cons: Price, but you totally get what you pay for.

Other Thoughts: This is the best fan controller I've ever used. Fan rpm display is just about spot on. I honestly think the silver Kaze Master is way better looking than the black one.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent

Pros: Does what it says it does.... I think. This controller controls 4 fans. I have 5 fans in my case. If I turn all the fans down to min. power/rpm, it doesn't seems to make any difference with regard to the noise. But that's probably the 5th fan making more noise than the rest....I think. When I jack the RPM's up all the way my case temp does go down. Another pro, it has LED lights that show temp and fan speed, LED display wasn't apparent in on-line web ad. Decent viewing angle of LED's.

Cons: If you happen to have a COOLER MASTER SC-1000-SSW1 Cosmos case, do NOT install this thing upside down. After about the 4th hour of transferring my old computer to a new case (Cosmos) plus installing some upgrades, I was getting a little tired and I installed this thing upside. VERY difficult to get out. Plus if you install in correctly, my case won't close. I pushed it back a bit and now the case closes, but if you stand up and look down on the top of the case you can see down into the drive bay below. Not a big deal though if the case is closed.

Other Thoughts: Temp sensors can be placed anywhere you want to. They are fairly long wires that have to be taped down. The tape they give you is kinda cheap. I use scotch tape, but I didn't put the tape on any sensitive parts in case it melts. Meaning, I taped about 3 to 5 inches behind the sensor. Also comes with 2 extra temp wires (even though the controller can only report 4 different temps). The reason I didn't give it a 5 was the whole controller just seem a wee bit cheap on the construction side. I almost broke off parts a couple of times, but as long as you aren't pulling an all night mod session, you should be fine. Last thought: Fan dials have to be turned up to about 20% to 30% before the fans start. Good buy.

5 out of 5 eggsScythe KM01-SL review

Pros: This has got to be the best fan control / temp monitor I've ever used. It does exactly what I need, and nothing I don't. As an added bonus it looks absolutely amazing in my aluminum Lian Li case.

Cons: The yellow tape provided to hold down the temperature probes isn't that great. It worked out ok for the probes I attached to the top of my hard drives, but for my video card and CPU heat sinks I had to use something else.

Other Thoughts: I've seen fancier (ugly) units for double the money, but honestly this unit is really all you need. It has a nice plain yet beautiful look, and the digital display is very classy.

5 out of 5 eggsSSWWEEEEEET

Pros: Very nice looking, 4 temp, 4 speed read outs. The pictures DO NOT DO IT JUSTICE. Easy to install works well so far.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I will not build another system without one of these in it.

5 out of 5 eggsNICE

Pros: This is a very nice fan control for a good price, it shows the temp. of 4 different areas that you choose and it also shows the RPMs of your fans. I would highly recommend this item to anyone who is looking for a nice fan control.

Cons: The only con i could think of was my case door won't shut because the fan control knobs stick out to far, no big deal thought.

Other Thoughts: BUY THIS!!!!!!!!!!!

4 out of 5 eggsOnly one fan per channel

Pros: This unit looks great - I have the black on in a black case and the green rpm readings matched with the blue temperature readings makes for a very nice display. It was easy to install and all supplied cabeling was long enough. The knobs have a solid feel and the build quality is high. Tech support was reachable and curtious.

Cons: The rating of each channel is 1 amp. So, I thought if I connected two fans that draw 0.1 amp each, there should be no problem with using this controller. It turns out after talking to Scythe Tech support, that only one fan can be run per channel. Although the unit worked with two per channel, the rpm reading jumped all over the place.

Other Thoughts: I would still recommend this unit but suggest using only one fan per channel and using something to hold down the temp probs. Tape does not seem to hold. I even tried double sided carpet tape.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Nice

Pros: It looks much better in person, up and running. The construction is good considering other controllers I've had or seen. The wiring is plenty long enough to reach long distance runs. The temperature probes on both HDD's are working properly and is reporting only about 1 to 2 degrees C off the actual winbond reading. I did attach one as close as I could to the CPU but for some reason it is not reading anything. All the fan controls, (4), work well and the adjustments are easy to make. The fans appear to be running at their full speed when turned on high. This is something that cheaper model fan controllers fail to do. When turned down too low, the alarm will go off and it is loud enough to get your attention. :)

Cons: The probes might be very delicate. I could have damaged the CPU probe just installing it. It never read any temp at all.

Lots of wires. Plan ahead and sleeve the fan and temp probe wires. Without a plan it will look like a spaghetti factory.

Other Thoughts: A very nice added touch to my Armor Plus case. The temperature digits are in dark blue and the RPM digits are a pale blue. The digits can be read from ANY angle. Unlike the cheaper models, the lighting is not too bright and they stay the same level regardless of what speed you've selected. I liked that. Scythe did a nice job with this controller. I was able to secure it with 2 HDD screws on each side, which gave it a solid feel. I can recommend this one.

One additional note: Don't make the same mistake I made. I just installed a vga cooler, (Accelero), and forgot to put a probe in while I had it apart. (Doh!) I wish I had attached that probe!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: So far, its doing what I want it to do. I bought this fan controller because the zalman I bought had a controller that was designed to stick out case, and I said no, no, this looks bad. So i decided on this one.

Cons: Just like everybody else on the black version of this controller complained about, the tape, just make sure before you install the controller that you have scotch tape around, it will be needed because the yellow tape it comes with will not stick at all. Also if you have a toolless case like me, make sure you have three Hard drive screws to keep it in place.

Other Thoughts: I wish there was a easier way to place the temp cable on the heatsink.

3 out of 5 eggsIt works

Pros: Looks nice and the scratches someone else mentioned are only on the protective film layer that you are supposed to remove. It looks great and does what it is supposed to. The temps are a little off, but that may be due to the placement of the thermal probes.

Cons: Only comes with plugs for 3pin fans, where many fans are 4pin. Adapters would have been nice, but you'd have to buy them separately. The knobs feel a little wobbly when you turn them. The inxtruction are in too many languages which makes it hard to read the english part! The instuction don't even mention the thermal probes, much less where or how to place them.

Other Thoughts: Overall I like it, but the things mentioned above are VERY annoying when you're trying to build a computer on the weekend and find you didn't get what you need.
