Pros: It works,but the degree of effectiveness depends on the quality of the computer case.

Cons: Not as effective as a bungee cord.

Pros: Allows you to put 4 x 3.5" drives into 3 x 5.25" drive bays. It also has anti-vibration strips and screws to help with rattle. Biggest Pro is the price!

Cons: If your 5.25" bays don't have good airflow, this will not be a good idea. It places the hard drives in close proximity of each other and will cause their temperature to rise.

Other Thoughts: I have 4 x Seagate 1TB drives using this stabilizer and my temps have been varied between 32c to 39c. This is with an Addtronics Server case that has 4 x 80mm case fans blowing over the 5.25" bays.

Bad idea

Pros: Mechanically it works, it will hold you drives suspended in the space of 3 - 5.25" bays. Anti-vibration screws.

Cons: In practice this is a terrible place for high RPM drives that run hot. In any standard mid-ATX case this area has no airflow. 7200 RPM drives overheat easily in this configuration and the effect is compounded as heat seems to get trapped there. My 2 HD's quickly overheated and went beyond their operating range of 55C. Became very hot (near 66C). This caused damage to one drive in the form of many non-relocatable sectors after several hours under load.

No provision for rails and tooless systems. This could easily be done with more holes and more anti-vibration screws.

Other Thoughts: I thought I could make this work as my case does have decent airflow. I was wrong. You WILL require a bay mounted fan/cooler or vent at the top of your case to avoid permanent damage to your drives.
