APEVIA FC-01 Multi Fan Speed Controller

Pros: I've had it in my machine for a month atleast and it's been doing its job perfectly.

Cons: As others have stated it will ground out if anything touches its heatsink and I believe them. So be weary of that, once its bolted in it should be fine just make sure nothing metallic will swing around and touch it.

Other Thoughts: Don't touch it with anything metallic after power has been applied to it.

Pros: much better then direct from power supply :)

Cons: made kinda cheap and maybe a little over priced but I'm happy

Pros: Cheap, bought 2 and they work well. No issues or fuss, easy to install.

Cons: Cheap quality, over priced.

Other Thoughts: They work...

Pros: Reduces noise by decreasing fan rpm (50% guesstimate)

Does not require a drive bay.

Controls multiple fans as advertized. (5x 80cm, don't risk more than 3x 120cm or larger)

Cons: Heatsink may be exposed to circuitry, so don't touch it.

Give it adequate clearance.

Pros: it works.

Cons: The heatsink is electrically charged. that is, if it touches the case, it equals a direct short.

Pros: It slows down fans so they make less noise.

Cons: No 3-pin or 4-pin adapter.

Pros: Works well when it worked. The pigtail controlled all three of my case fans together. My HTPC was dead silent at the low setting. Pretty easy to install and use.

Cons: Died after about 18 months. One day, the computer turned on, and all three fans were at maximum speed. Turning the knob didn't do anything. I don't know what happened and I can't open the assembly to see if anything was burnt out. The little assembly isn't designed to be opened. Maybe it overheats, but I don't know. 18 months is way too short no matter what it is. Pretty disappointed.

Pros: Can control a 140mm, and 3 90mm fans no problem
Doesnt use up front bay
Easy to install
Really reduced noise from smaller fans when turned down

Cons: Doesnt turn off fans when turned all the way down.

Pros: Good enough at what it does if you're only using it to control 2-3 fans.

Cons: Build quality is on the cheap side, but then again the product itself is pretty cheap.

Other Thoughts: There aren't very many low priced fan controllers on the market so it really was a case of taking what I could find.

Pros: They work on very low wattage fans

Cons: They barely slow down a fan that draws more than .75 amps
