is there any interference between this and wifi? or are they 2 differnent frequencies?

Not sure on the Freq used but just like any other wireless signals, they may cross. I personally have not had any troubles with it. I do have to say the size of the board on this thing is super small and i felt as if i was going to break it LOL. Overall it seems to be GREAT. specially for those hard to reach computers or ones with front faces that open and close.

Question 2

Does this only work through the on off header, or can it also form a connection between the psu on wire and ground wires in the 24 pin connector?

this unit works by using the on/off and reset headers on the mb. it does however, get its power from the 20/24 pin connector via a small extension cable with power pigtails that go off of it. if you are referring to (the usually green) psu wake-up wire, no, it doesn't use that at all.

can this be used to wake a computer up from sleep mode?

The answer your question is yes. It will wake up as well as turn on/off. If you have any wireless, like a keyboard or mouse, they will also wake your computer up.

Does this work with Windows 8.1?

Yeah It should with out a problem. Should not matter what windows you use as this is hardware based. It goes directly between the motherboards power connector, and then you connect the power and reset connectors on the motherboard to the RF board. Then your good to go. if you want to still use the power button/reset from the case you need to connect the power/reset from the case to the RF board. The device is pretty nice, it basically just converts the power/reset buttons to recieve a signal wirelessly to turn on/off or reset. Similar to an alarm system on a car.  If you need any more help just let me know.

Will one remote turn on multiple controllers?

I have 2 of these devices on computers setting side by side and the remotes will only turn on one of them at a time with the corrisponding remote.

what are the dimensions of the package it comes in? I told my parents i wanted one for Christmas, and there's a package under the tree that looks like it could be it.

I wouldn't really want to ruin your surprise so I will approximate the dimensions and leave out it's depth. The package is roughy 5" x 3.75".

Question 7

anyone know the thread size on the antenna mount? want to remove the bracket and secure directly in drilled hole, using two nuts to tighten it into place.

The antenna connecter is the standard RP-SMA connecter used on all wifi adapters that use an external antenna.
