5 out of 5 eggsSilent indeed!

This review is from: ENERMAX UC-12EB 120mm Case Fan

Pros: Runs at rated CFM at whisper quite RPM's, removable magnetic blade is super awesome for maintenance and should be noted by all fan makers to make this a standard feature for all fans!

Cons: Wish my case could accomodate more 120mm case fans, would have bought more of these!

5 out of 5 eggsQuiet and fit for my purpose

This review is from: ENERMAX UC-12EB 120mm Case Fan

Pros: I have a couple of these on two different PCs as the side fans blowing onto the graphics cards. For this purpose, they are very silent if mounted properly (see below), and move enough air for a moderate power graphics card, though not really a great quantity.

Cons: I would prefer more air flow, and keep looking for fans that move more air, but they are always too loud for me. For example, I just bought a Noctua NF-S12A PWM for twice the price, and found that it did not cool as well, and was louder. I am sure it is the better fan in most applications, but just not where I was using it.

Other Thoughts: Fans are a tricky business, and the ones that work well as rear exhaust fans may be too loud as side fans. The direction the air flows affects its sound a lot; just try turning a fan around and see. In general, the intake fans are harder to mount properly. I now space them away from the side panel using a couple of bolts on each of four machine screws and seal the air gap with tape. That reduces the noise considerably until they are now silent.

1 out of 5 eggsQuiet but moves no air

This review is from: ENERMAX UC-12EB 120mm Case Fan

Pros: Quiet and inexpensive.

Cons: Moves little to no air causing my CPU, Power Supply and GPU fans to work noticeably harder.

Other Thoughts: My old fan is almost four years old, so I bought this as a preventative measure. My core temps were getting high; the power supply fan was going full but this new fan wasn't doing anything. I dangled tissue paper over the exit grill and it barely moved. I put the old fan back in and could immediately feel the difference with my hand.

When idle, the old fan cooled the core temperatures below 40 C very quickly. This new fan never did that. It is also putting much less stress on the CPU and Power Supply fans.

I also noted that this new fan rarely got above 750 RPM.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

This review is from: ENERMAX UC-12EB 120mm Case Fan

Pros: Super quiet and moves air.

Use this as the main exhaust for my mid tower case. Have it plugged into the chassis fan slot, but it comes with a molex adapter if needed.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Case hovers around 79F while gaming.

Doesn't move as much air as my old cooler master 120, but for the 0 sound output it's a definite upgrade.

4 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: ENERMAX UC-12EB 120mm Case Fan

Pros: Silent.

Cons: Not a huge amount of air slow.

Other Thoughts: I have had two of these in my system for over 2 years and I cannot hear them. I check all my fans from time to time and they have not had an issue.

5 out of 5 eggsSilent and effective

This review is from: ENERMAX UC-12EB 120mm Case Fan

Pros: This fan is as quiet as any I have ever used. In fact, it's quieter. It's a real marvel. Even on minimum power it moves more than enough air for my computer. My CPU and motherboard temps both run in the 30's. I don't overclock.

Cons: It doesn't move as much air as some fans do. Primarily, I think, because it doesn't spin particularly fast even at full power. If you're pushing your components to the limit of heat dissipation, you'll no doubt need something else. But I can't hear this fan to tell if it's working. If I did OC, I'd consider using a case with several of these.

Other Thoughts: The magnetic, no contact, bearing is a real and actual thing. The shaft of the fan floats on an electromagnetic field, similar to the way a magnet can be suspended in the air above another magnet.

5 out of 5 eggsSo good

This review is from: ENERMAX UC-12EB 120mm Case Fan

Pros: These fans are great. so quiet and the first one I bought is still working fine after 3+ years.

Cons: You have to be a bit more careful when cleaning.

Other Thoughts: Regulates speed when the temp goes up so get the biggest one you can fit in your case. I don't use fans on my video card so this is great for making a quiet PC.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Fans

This review is from: ENERMAX UC-12EB 120mm Case Fan

Pros: 1. Quiet
2. Moves a good bit of air
3. Comes with screws and the 3 to 4 pin adapter
4. Inexpensive

Cons: 1. Isn't a PWM fan

Other Thoughts: I build PCs for people as side business. I have a whole bunch of these fans in various systems. They are quiet, move a good bit of air and come with all of the necessary parts. My only complaint is that I wish they came in a PWM version. A great fan for any system.

5 out of 5 eggsstill going after 5 years

This review is from: ENERMAX UC-12EB 120mm Case Fan

Pros: I love these fans. I know they don't move insane air, but it all depends on how you use them. if you have a case with 7 of these in a case with a well laid out air flow, then these rock. they are very reliable, and I have bought probably 50 of these for the various builds I have done. my original batch from over 5 years ago are still working great and silent. SEE OTHER THOUGHTS.

Cons: I am not even going to mention cfm cause if you are looking at these, then you want quiet anyway and you already know quiet fans don't move tons of air.

Other Thoughts: OK- case fans 101. If you have 2 case fans, then go noisy high cfm fans. if you have 4 case fans, you can go with a mid-range cfm and mid-range sound fan. If you have 6 or more fans and have build your system around a general air-flow theme and have put a lot of work in getting heatsinks that compliment the air flow direction "theme", and put a lot of work into securing all the wires out of the way of airflow, then these fans are a wonderful low cost solution.
