AeroCool CoolPanel III Multi-functional panel

Pros: Looks better than most card readers out there with the added function of fan control.

Cons: Molex connector pins push out when plugged in. May require a bit of tech ability to safely correct.

Other Thoughts: Lacks instructions on where to install temperature probes. Probably as a result I see a ~10% difference between measured temps and on board temp reporting while idling. Maybe if you move them around you can find the sweet spot for probe locations.

Pros: Works as advertised, the temp probes are important and needed in a home built PC, the extra USB and Audio headers are nice, the temp alarm is nice - extra headers nice too
fit into the bay just fine on my zalman case

Cons: COST is too High, I paid 46.99 in 2009... now it is marked 49.99... this device should really sell for about 25 dollars
I cant see how they claim 50 bucks for this.. they must b e making like 85% profit at that price.

Other Thoughts: Too Expensive... add individual fan controller knobs if you are going to charge 50 bucks

Pros: It's functionality as a card reader and fan/temp monitor was a very good idea. The thermos, if placed correctly, are accurate to +2/-2 degrees C. Installed easily with Win 7 64-bit.

Cons: Poorly constructed. The bolt patterns do not match up with my Lian-Li PC-K62 case's 5.25" drive bays. Fan controllers instead of just fan monitors, would have been much better, but as it were, to connect all four of my case fans, just to monitor their RPM's, would fill my case up with more cable clutter.

Other Thoughts: Some people aren't aware that the 4-pin cable plugs in to the bottom half of a common 9-pin USB header on the MB.

Cons: K first of all who ever has giving this more then one star is crazy, this is really a piece of trash that looks good. The instructions that come with it are a joke and dont show you any install steps at ALL. If you want something that is just going to look good but do absolutely nothing this is what you want, im the type of person that wants to buy something and use it.

Pros: The tempature censors was genius.
I placed one in the VGA, CPU, and under the PSU.
Controlls fans.
multi card reader, sATA, USB connections, and mic/head phones.

Cons: To be able to controll the fans is kinda tricky at first.
software is outdated with the micro CD and claims that is only for windows 98.
no instructions other than a picture pamplet.

Other Thoughts: Excellent addition to 5.25 bay drives.
Fit perfect and matches with all black look.
with the only temp. censor on the market that isnt 2X5.25 size, it is a must buy.

Pros: Shows the temp for thee places in your pc, graphics card, cpu and inside the case. Also shows the rpm speed of three fans. Also has a card reader and USB ports, which is a plus.

Cons: Didn't come with any instructions, except for how to set the temp. alarm. Tried to place the sensor in between the heat sink and cpu like people said to do online, and shorted two of them out. Now only one of the temp monitors works... Driver disk that came with the panel won't install, saying I need windows xp service pack 1 (running win 7) Temp. won't change from Celsius to Fahrenheit.

Other Thoughts: Overall it seems like a cool little panel, but it is kinda cheap and not worth the money. Wouldn't recommend this product to anyone.

Pros: It has a card reader, USB ports, and fan monitor.

Cons: Honestly, I RMA'd this shortly after I bought it. The fan controller does not control the fans. I knew this when I bought it. However, there is no output from the fan controller to the motherboard, so if you hook your fans up to this controller, you lose the ability of your motherboard to control your fans. However, after I RMA'd the fan controller, I found some Y-cables made by Rosewill on Newegg. They are 99c and allow you to hook up a fan to both the motherboard and the fan controller. These adapters use 3-pin connections, so you can't use them with four pin (PWM) fans.

Other things: I have a Sileo Cooler Master case that doesn't allow you to screw 5.25" drives in on both sides, and the panel wouldn't sit tightly in the bay. I didn't need the audio controllers or ESATA, so I RMA'd it.

Other Thoughts: I did end up getting Aerocool's 3.5" EasyWatch fan controller which I like very much (using the Rosewill fan y-connectors to allow the motherboard to control the fans). I do like the fan controller. I'm taking off 1 egg because of the flimsy plastic construction that wouldn't accomodate my 'toolless' case. I can't comment on the card reader because I never used it.

Pros: Okay so it's not calibration, is accuracy testing, but read this anyway.

i'm going to tell you how to test for proper calibration of your temp sensors. If your unit is hooked up already, that sucks. If it's fresh out of the box, you're in luck.

1- Hook up power to the thing, but dont secure it in your case. Just leave the side panel off, or let it hang out of the drive bay. Anyway....

2 - run the temperature sensors out of the computer.

3 - Get a glass, (one made of, you guessed it, GLASS!) and put ice in it. Then fill the glass with water.

4 - Bring it to your computer.

5 - Don't spill water on your computer. It will suck.

6 - tape the sensor to the outside of the glass and power up your machine.

side note - I dont know if those sensors can get wet, because ideally you want them in the water, but i'm not going to tell you to do that. after a few moments, your display should read close to 32 degrees F or 0 degrees C, depending on the unit of mea

Cons: Test all your sensors, noting which ones are what temperatures, and now you know how accurate your probes are.

Other Thoughts: This is how i test thermometers for accuracy in the food service industry, except we can calibrate those.

Pros: -Works
-Auto fan control is nice and works well
-Excellent viewing angles (I sit at nearly a 70 degree angle and can still read it pretty easily).
-Temp warning is cool
-C and F quick switching and readouts
-Temp sensors are neat, and good for a general idea of what you system is doing at any given time.
-No need for drivers on windows 7
-

Cons: -Directions are a joke!!!
-The Card reader takes SD and Micro SD upside down. It's really weird and annoying, and makes it feel cheap.

Other Thoughts: -I like the LCD backlight bleeding. It lights some of the data ports so you can see them in the dark.
- I also like all the wires. My CM690 2 Advanced handles them easily with it's CMS(Cable Management System)
