1 out of 5 eggsLow output

This review is from: ENERMAX UC-8EB 80mm Case Fan

Pros: Frictionless?

Cons: The air output is so bad that my computer constantly overheats.

Other Thoughts: I wasted my money on these, have to buy more fans now.

4 out of 5 eggsQuiet

This review is from: ENERMAX UC-8EB 80mm Case Fan

Pros: The first one went noisy after a few months. I was replaced by the MFR w/o the need to send the old one back. I'm glad I kept the box as MFR required s/n for replacement. It was only on the box.

Cons: Got noisy after 4 mo.

Other Thoughts: Keep the box or make note of the s/n in case you need to replace the fan under warranty

5 out of 5 eggsworks well

This review is from: ENERMAX UC-8EB 80mm Case Fan

Pros: quiet
"air" bearing design
low RPM (needed slower fan)

Cons: noise quirk on some - oiling fixed this completely

Other Thoughts: Great fan - wanted a lower RPM to cool a stereo amp, not a computer.

Have a Tripath amp (TK2050 chip) these type of Tripath chip amps run hot. Fantastic amp, just worried it would fry after 6 months. Fan worked great, now amp runs completely cool, not even barely warm to the touch.

The heat sink I would've needed to get it cool enough was too big for the board - one slip and you could crack the PC board. I love that it's easily cleanable and the enlobal "air" suspension bearing for low noise and longevity.

Only concern - mostly these are quiet, one was noisey. I removed the blades, oiled the shaft and the plastic where the shaft mounts the blade and noise disappeared.
That's fine by me, just helps to be aware of how to remove the noise in the rare units that it appears in.

Overall very very happy with this fan, love the design for this application.

5 out of 5 eggsLong Life, Low Noise

This review is from: ENERMAX UC-8EB 80mm Case Fan

Pros: Extremely quiet while running.
Has been going for 2+ years on a home theater PC.
The addition of just one fixed a poor build a friend had made.

Good airflow for small, quiet, inexpensive fan.

Cons: It did not make case levitate a foot off the ground.

Other Thoughts: Would, and will end up repurchasing more of these little fellows in the future as builds require.

3 out of 5 eggsBought two, one flaked after a month or so

This review is from: ENERMAX UC-8EB 80mm Case Fan

Pros: Just the right amount of quiet and air flow

Cons: One started making a fluttering noise after 5 weeks. The 2nd one is still silent.

Other Thoughts: I expected longer longevity from this.

3 out of 5 eggsNice fan, not as quiet as I'd hoped

This review is from: ENERMAX UC-8EB 80mm Case Fan

Pros: The fan appears well constructed, and the leads are long enough to allow for easy use in a mATX tower.

Cons: The fan was not as quiet as I had hoped for, or as quiet as I was led to believe from the advertisement. It was louder than the existing case fan in my SFF build, so I re-installed the original fan.

Other Thoughts: It may be impossible to have a fan that is small and quiet and moves a lot of air.

5 out of 5 eggsNot bad

This review is from: ENERMAX UC-8EB 80mm Case Fan

Pros: I bought a couple of these to replace the aging and dying fans in my system. The fans are very quiet and move an adequate amount of air.

Cons: The amount of air air circulation these generate isn't all that great, but it's enough to get the job done.

Other Thoughts: In all honesty, if you keep your CPU heat sink and fan clean and clear of dust, any decent case fan will be enough for your needs, and these work fine.

5 out of 5 eggsQuiet and long lasting

This review is from: ENERMAX UC-8EB 80mm Case Fan

Pros: Extremely quiet and they have lasted over two years. I have five of them on a temperature sensor to cool an electronics cabinet and they are not even noticeable.

Cons: None so far

4 out of 5 eggsDecent

This review is from: ENERMAX UC-8EB 80mm Case Fan

Pros: Low cost
Low noise

Cons: nothing much negative about it

Other Thoughts: got these to use as case fans in my HTPC and they move air without being too buzzy.
