5 out of 5 eggsLong Life, Low Noise

This review is from: ENERMAX UC-8EB 80mm Case Fan

Pros: Extremely quiet while running.
Has been going for 2+ years on a home theater PC.
The addition of just one fixed a poor build a friend had made.

Good airflow for small, quiet, inexpensive fan.

Cons: It did not make case levitate a foot off the ground.

Other Thoughts: Would, and will end up repurchasing more of these little fellows in the future as builds require.

3 out of 5 eggsBought two, one flaked after a month or so

This review is from: ENERMAX UC-8EB 80mm Case Fan

Pros: Just the right amount of quiet and air flow

Cons: One started making a fluttering noise after 5 weeks. The 2nd one is still silent.

Other Thoughts: I expected longer longevity from this.

3 out of 5 eggsNice fan, not as quiet as I'd hoped

This review is from: ENERMAX UC-8EB 80mm Case Fan

Pros: The fan appears well constructed, and the leads are long enough to allow for easy use in a mATX tower.

Cons: The fan was not as quiet as I had hoped for, or as quiet as I was led to believe from the advertisement. It was louder than the existing case fan in my SFF build, so I re-installed the original fan.

Other Thoughts: It may be impossible to have a fan that is small and quiet and moves a lot of air.

5 out of 5 eggsNot bad

This review is from: ENERMAX UC-8EB 80mm Case Fan

Pros: I bought a couple of these to replace the aging and dying fans in my system. The fans are very quiet and move an adequate amount of air.

Cons: The amount of air air circulation these generate isn't all that great, but it's enough to get the job done.

Other Thoughts: In all honesty, if you keep your CPU heat sink and fan clean and clear of dust, any decent case fan will be enough for your needs, and these work fine.

5 out of 5 eggsQuiet and long lasting

This review is from: ENERMAX UC-8EB 80mm Case Fan

Pros: Extremely quiet and they have lasted over two years. I have five of them on a temperature sensor to cool an electronics cabinet and they are not even noticeable.

Cons: None so far

Pros: Low cost
Low noise

Cons: nothing much negative about it

Other Thoughts: got these to use as case fans in my HTPC and they move air without being too buzzy.

5 out of 5 eggsENERMAX UC-8EB 80mm Case Fan

This review is from: ENERMAX UC-8EB 80mm Case Fan

Pros: No Noise, Inexpensive, True 3 wire fan.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Got this to put air on hard drives in my HTPC, did not want extra noise.Read reviews that this is silent and it is less than silent, 0 motor noise, just a very faint whisper of air you can barely hear when next to your ear. A true 3 wire fan with PWM, standard 0.100 3 pin connector and a pass thru molex adpaex, meaning plug it into a molex Pata drive conn and you power your fan and still have a usable molex power connector. I would have liked a bit more air but I saw the specs. I wouldn't try removing the blades to clean them, they are in there super tight, I don't know why you would do that, just as simple to clean without removing them.

4 out of 5 eggsQuiet, decent life expectency

This review is from: ENERMAX UC-8EB 80mm Case Fan

Pros: I found these to be silent; you have to look at them to make sure they're spinning. They're decently reliable, and they install/screw-tap easily. Airflow is also pretty good considering their silent operation.

Cons: I've had one of these become unbalanced after about 21,000 hours of operation (24/7 for at least 870 days). The second, installed at the same time is still running smooth. The cleanable aspect is a little nerve wracking; the blades do detach straight out but with a lot of force (tried it on the unbalanced one). I never cleaned mine, but I'd be worried about bending the unit while attempting to do so.

Other Thoughts: I bought four of these from a different shop, who has since stopped carrying them, and installed two as hard drive coolers in a home server, so they've been running 24/7 since the start of October 2012. I just replaced the one with two spares and will see if I get another 20K hours out of the spare.
