5 out of 5 eggsGreat add-on for older cases

Pros: Adds Usb 3.0 ports as well as front audio jacks to my ancient Acrylic case.

Cons: Sometimes both the usb and audio ports seem very stubborn while inserting plugs into them.

Other Thoughts: Be warned that each pair of Usb 3.0 ports has it's own header to connect to motherboard, which most only have one port onboard so you will need an add-on cord or the adapter to convert it to Usb 2.0, so in my case I'm only using the One Pair of Usb Ports along with the Audio Jacks Besides that I had no problems with it.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Product

Pros: Does everything that it says it does. The aluminum "frame" is very sturdy and the black coating matches my case (even though it doesn't really matter.) The audio ports are great and haven't failed on me like my case's ports (which was the reason I bought this product.)

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Have not tested the USB 3.0 ports yet due to a lack of a motherboard that can support them.

It isn't flush with the facade of my case. It protrudes a bit but it's not a huge deal. Might be my cases fault.

5 out of 5 eggsFront Panel Audio and USB x 4

Pros: This is exactly what I needed: Front-mounted USB and audio ports.

It fit perfectly into my ancient Antec PlusView 1000 case, sitting flush and tight with the case's front panel.

The two USB ports in use (see why only two in the Cons) and the audio ports work as described. Just "plug and play"!

Cons: None for the port, but for my Asus Sabertooth 990FX motherboard, which has only one (ONE!!) USB 3.0 header. So, I have a four-port panel but only two are plugged into the board.

I'm a bit of a purist and will not buy a 3.0 to 2.0 USB adapter; though I may look into a getting Silverstone's PCIe expansion card, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815256001 if I really need to use the other two USB ports. For now the cable for those ports are bundled up and tucked away.

5 out of 5 eggsGood usb 3.0 panel

Pros: This is a well built panel. Solid aluminum alloy construction with parkerized finish.

Cons: Be aware that you need 2 usb 3.0 front panel headers on your mobo to make all ports work. Each header supports 2 ports, so you need 2 headers for all 4 ports to work. I did not realize this and I can only run 2 ports as my mobo does not have 2 usb 3.0 headers. I will have to get a 20pin to 9 pin usb adapter to hookup and just have 2 3.0 and the other 2 regular usb 2.0 ports, or get a newer mobo with 2 usb 3.0

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you very much for purchasing a SilverStone device. Another option to add more 19pin USB 3.0 connector is to get a PCI-E adapter card such as our own EC01-P in the following link. It will give you another full speed USB 3.0 19pin connector to work with the FT32-E:
