4 out of 5 eggsUpgrade was worth it!

Pros: Added a 3.0 Port to the front of the Lian Li case. USB 3.0 is really quick with thumb drives. Solid construction.

Cons: None to mention when considering other choices.

5 out of 5 eggsUSB Front Panel

Pros: Fits easily into 3.5 inch drive bay. Included screws made it easy since I did not have to dig through my drawer of computer screws for the right size. Used one of these in a 2 year old case, and another in a 20 year old case. No problems installing in either case design.

Cons: Since I have mid-tower cases, I could have used about another inch of wire to reach the MB headers. I had to bend the back of the unit so I could move the wires to one side to reach the headers. Newer and smaller cases would be no problem.

Other Thoughts: Going to buy a couple more of these plus some conversion cables to use USB2 headers on the MB and convert to a plug that these USB3 units can connect to. Those MBs are still good and I just can't find one of these USB front panel that are USB2.

2 out of 5 eggsNot powerful enough to power ext drive

Pros: 2 external ports to front of pc

Cons: This does not provide power enough for my external usb drives. Both say that they need more power to use them.. so this was a waste of money since I only bought it to enable me to plug in my external backup drives into the front panel.

1 out of 5 eggsSteer Clear

Pros: Not pro at all

Cons: In the 4 of the 5 systems I built for resale, this component locked up those systems anytime a USB peripheral was attached.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Job Vantec

Pros: Nice unit, looks good in my case and works with every flash drive and USB device I have plugged into it. It has a firm and solid feel to it when plugging/unplugging unlike some of the lesser expensive 2.0 units I have bought before. Speeds are better and it responds quickly as I barely plug a device in and its mounted and opened on my desktop ready to go. Recommended.

Cons: Be nice to have more than 2 ports but with the cases stock USB 2.0 ones already there its ok.

Other Thoughts: I run linux Mint 17.1 and it works great. This is the second time I bought and installed this model on a system so there you go. It would be great to put in more than one but that gets expensive.

5 out of 5 eggsNice USB 3.0 front panel for older cases

Pros: - Gives you a USB 3.0 option for older cases.
- Plugs right into USB 3.0 connector on the motherboard.
- Fit right in my case's 3.5" floppy drive bay.
- It's black like my case!

Cons: None so far!

Other Thoughts: This is a great option for folks who have older cases. I have a Cooler Master HAF 932 that I still like (mine is the pre-Advanced version). But I wanted some USB 3.0 ports for the front of my case as my new motherboard allowed for the option. So far, this one works great! Good speeds and plugged right in with no extra adapter needed. Fits in right where I used to have an old 3.5" floppy drive.

5 out of 5 eggscouldn't be simpler

Pros: Popped the cover out of the floppy drive hole, slid this puppy in (secured it with one screw), plugged it into the mommy board.
Woyks poyfect.

Cons: uhhhhhhhh.............

Other Thoughts: If I have trouble later, I'll get back to you. So far, works great. Backed up 80 gb onto an external drive in less than 15 minutes.
