5 out of 5 eggsIt works.

Pros: Magnet helps align and position it.
Good filter for catching pet hair/fibers but I wouldn't expect it to catch the really fine stuff.

Cons: Not completely big enough to completely cover the perforated intake on my case. I sealed the edges with tape.

5 out of 5 eggsThing's fantastic.

Pros: Bought it to place over an intake with a giant cheese grater grill that wasn't really going to stop fine particulate. Works like a charm, fits over said grill, easy to remove, easy to clean, haven't really noticed any problems with the mesh being "flimsy" as some people say, but it's not like I've tried to clean it with a wire brush or steel wool either... Thought I'd wait a few months and see how my purchases held out before I reviewed, I'm happy with this one. I can't speak for anyone who's having problems, maybe the quality of the product varies but the magnet on mine is just fine sticking to the side of the case. I didn't put it on an exhaust vent so maybe that would effect it's ability to stick on, but why would you need a dust filter on an exhaust vent? Anyhow bottom line, works nicely and it's pretty darned convenient. To clean the meshes that came with the case I have to remove the face plate, turn the thing off, flip it upside down ect. Not a problem with this filter. Pull it off, roll the dust into a lint ball, just plop it back on. Thing's fantastic.

Cons: You could get two in a pack possibly. Maybe it could come with a gold ingot? Seriously though the borders are a little big, could be a problem for some but if they were smaller the grip would be weaker so you take the good with the bad.

Other Thoughts: Yes I'd recommend it. Yes I'd buy it again. Would be nice if it were cheaper though. The border material seems to be the same more or less as cheap rubberized refrigerator magnets so they probably could sell it for less.

4 out of 5 eggsgreat filters

Pros: I've had computers without filters and have scooped out huge amounts of dust from the innards of pcs before. I know how bad it can get - these things are really impressive. The filters are a good size, they feel nice and strong and reduce dust to a very fine coating over the 10+ months they have been in my new gaming computer - despite my cat trying to slowly sabotage my computer in an evil war of attrition. I highly recommend these filters for the pet afflicted pc owners out there, they are highly effective.

Cons: I have had no issue with these filters. I questioned how effective they could be, it's not like they seal the computer but they are very good.

Only thing that comes to mind is you have to clean them occasionally if that can even be considered a con.

Other Thoughts: I will now adopt hundreds of cats to test their effectiveness.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks well, stops a lot of dust

Pros: Stops dust. Has magnetic edges in case you can't bolt it on. I just use the magnets on the metal screens which cover my fans.

Cons: Not very attractive.
The magnets only really stick one way. If you put the filter on upside down, the magnet doesn't really stick.
Not really a con, just something to be aware of.

3 out of 5 eggsgood filter.

Pros: Good airflow, Good filtration,

Cons: Magnets are very weak, the frame is very soft, very expensive

Other Thoughts: the filter is good. the magnets are almost useless. my previous filters with magnet stayed on my case much better. the price is ridiculous, I paid because I thought the filter was perfect. it isn't but it is good enough. the price should be $5 or less

5 out of 5 eggsSilverStone Fan Filters Have No Equal

Pros: Truly amazing airflow. Collected dust is clearly visible and easily removed with a vacuum. Easily outclasses the Silverstone FF121 120mm Fan Grilles.

Cons: Mediocre magnetic hold. The magnet strength is no better or worse than any other brand using soft-core magnets. (Definitely not a show stopper for those that prefer screws).

Other Thoughts: I have several Silverstone FF121 120mm Fan Grilles
and opted for the 120/140mm versions of the Ultra Fine fans. I have been impressed with both sizes. You need only gently blow air through the filter to realize how the air passes through with minimum resistance. I have yet to find another brand that can compete with Silverstone fan filters. Definitely worth the cost.

2 out of 5 eggsNot Magnetic

Pros: The fan filter has a nice filtering mesh and looks well made.

Cons: Doesnt stick to my pc case at all! Whats the point of magentic fan filter without it being very magnetic? It might have .001 lbs of max pull but not enough to hold itself on to the pc case. My intended use was to filter air passively as it enters my case using this product. In that regard, this product failed.

Other Thoughts: I would NOT recommend this product to anyone looking to filter incoming air without a pc fan holding it in place.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you very much for purchasing a SilverStone. The FF123 has only magnet applied on one side so please make sure you have that side facing the steel part of you case directly for best result.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect!

Pros: This magnetic fan filter has been absolutely perfect. Simply take it out of the box slap on to the intake port you want to filter and done. The amount of dust I've seen this thing capture and prevent from going into my case has been remarkable. It's light flexible and sticks perfectly to the machine case.

Cons: Well, if it could manage to clean itself and rub my feet I think it would be better.

5 out of 5 eggswill filter filters

Pros: great airflow, durable.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I will note a version without magnets and a black or darker color of the screen would be great, otherwise these filters work amazing.
