5 out of 5 eggsSilverstone Fan Filter

This review is from: Silverstone FF123W 120mm Ultra Fine Fan Filter with Magnet (White)

Pros: -Great filter, keeps a good portion of dust out of my system. Wont have to clean my system near as often as i had to when i did not have fan filters.

Cons: -Price compared to many other fan filters. Quality really shows though, and in my opinion it is worth paying the extra for this filter.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic, Extremely Low-Profile Filters

This review is from: Silverstone FF123W 120mm Ultra Fine Fan Filter with Magnet (White)

Pros: - I have nothing but good remarks for Silverstone's Ultra Fine Fan filters. These filters are by in large the best, even better than Silverstone's other filters, which company I hold in high-regard for fan filters.
- First off, I had a nasty clearance problem in my Corsair Carbide 540 case. There were three fans on the outside of the case that just barely fit behind the front cover grill. The issue was that I couldn't find a single fan filter to be slim enough to fit in the mere 1.5mm of clearance between the grill and the fans. However, when I came across Silverstone's Ultra Fine Fan Filters, I found my solution. They were the only fan filters (besides possibly a custom, makeshift solution) that could fit in this area without a clearance issue. And fit they did.
- Not only are the white rims aesthetically-pleasing for a white color-schemed build, they also feature magnets in them; so if you didn't want to secure them with a screw to the fan and case (which I did anyhow), you can just position them, and they'll stick.
- The netting, the filter, is so fine that it lets air pass through unabated, but captures dust perfectly. After a fresh install of these, the PC has been running for two weeks, still absent of any dust settling inside.
- These filters are extremely easy to clean. A shopVac or normal sweeper hose will get most if not all the dust out of them. If you don't mind removing them, running them under spraying hot water, shaking and letting them dry will also do the trick of removing the dust most-thoroughly.

Cons: - These are pretty darn expensive. Granted, you get what you pay for, and in my case, these are what I needed and didn't mind paying the premium.

Other Thoughts: - Again, they're expensive, and a cheaper alternative might be better for you; however, for me, these filters were just perfect and I would recommend them to anyone with a similar clearance issue like more, or someone who desires attractive, white fan filters.

5 out of 5 eggsLiked this so much I bought 5 more

This review is from: Silverstone FF123W 120mm Ultra Fine Fan Filter with Magnet (White)

Pros: Very handy for preventing wires from falling into fans making that awful sound we've all heard before...

Also helps to keep the dust out of my negative pressure airflow case configuration. I liked the first one so much that I bought five more.

Cons: None

3 out of 5 eggsWorks well

This review is from: Silverstone FF123W 120mm Ultra Fine Fan Filter with Magnet (White)

Pros: 120mm x 120mm, no more no less
Very fine metal screen
White on non-magnet side
Dust just peels off

Cons: Overpriced
Wimpy magnet

Other Thoughts: Pretty good product but at $10 they are a little too much.
They do fit well, as they are exactly 120mm on each side, and are +/- 1.5mm thick, (no micrometer handy right now)so they are pretty thin and are flexible. These don't stick worth beans, and the magnet side is black. Just so you know.

Plan on mounting these with screws.

The best thing is the dust just peels off, the mesh is so fine.

I have these outside the chassis on the intake fans of a Silverstone TD02 Liquid cooler and they are working well. Better to catch the dust before it enters, it is a PITA to disassemble the cooler to remove it and the less often it is needed the better. Makes the twenty bucks seem more worthwhile looking at it that way.
Overall I'm happy but should have waited for a promo code.

5 out of 5 eggsWHITE VERSION! VERY RARE!

This review is from: Silverstone FF123W 120mm Ultra Fine Fan Filter with Magnet (White)

Pros: Can't believe it! I almost had to import these from HongKong. Looked on NEWEGG again during the week and a 3rd party seller is selling them! White filters to go with my Silverstone SG-05 i7 ITX Computer Case. Dust Free Baby! No more giving my internals a blow. I have the filters inside and I just vacuum the vents from the outside every month. I painted the black magnet strip with some hobby model white paint. All good in the hood.

Cons: NONE! Maybe the black magnetic strip,

Other Thoughts: I used acetone to remove any paint mistakes on the filter mesh. Make sure you use POSITIVE PRESSURE CASE design or else you may build up heat. You want heat to be cold in the front and all hot air out! Make sure the air is all moving out one hole. I actually taped off the vents I didn't use. Try taping the side panel vents and run a game and check temps, remove tape around video card if it is sucking more then the front vent fan can supply.
