5 out of 5 eggsAmazing CFM, loud

Pros: Amazing fan, with excellent CFM. This fan can move air and cool a PC well!

Inexpensive

Cons: Loud :D

Other Thoughts: I don't use the included fan controller that came with this fan. I use an aftermarket one I have installed in my case. At lower RPM these fans work well and similar to cheap case fans, quiet too. When doing intensive work, or BTC mining :D, rev these fans up and watch them scream! But they will cool even the hottest video cards.

4 out of 5 eggsMoves a lot of air

Pros: Moves a ton of air.
Cables are nice and long.
Solid fan controller

Cons: No PWM (but I knew that ahead of time)
Extremely loud at high speeds

Other Thoughts: I bought this as an exhaust fan and it's just about perfect for that. I didn't have any slots for the fan controller, but since the cable is so long, I was able to break off the supports and secure it flat to my desk. The only real issue I've had with it is the noise it makes at high speeds. Granted, a large portion of that noise is air movement, but a definite coil whine can be heard. It's loud enough at max speed that I can hear it over what I'm watching on my headset. Luckily, the fan performs so well that I rarely have to turn it up past half speed. (Usually, it only goes past half if my CPU is going to be sitting at 100% for more than a few minutes)

4 out of 5 eggsIt's okay...

Pros: Fans move lots of air. Comes with fan controller. Comes with fan grills.

Cons: I hate it that it has three wires coming out the fan. It messes up with my wire management, only if it had a 3 -4 pin like the other fans. Fan controller doesn't fit anywhere in my case. It's nice that silverstone supplies a fan controller, but i got no where to put it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat fan

Pros: Fan controller is a plus
Quiet all the time (and let's be honest this probably won't ever run at max rpm unless you need crazy cooling)

Cons: Erm it doesn't come in a pack of 10 for the price of one?

5 out of 5 eggsMobo control for FM121

Pros: With a couple of"store bought" "wiring harnesses", 2 of these fans now controlled from Asus mobo and Asus Fan Xpert2 software, rather than manually controlled. Didn't have an open slot in front for the manual controller, and besides, wanted it a bit automated.

Cons: Didn't have the molex pins, holders, etc., nor the eyesight, to build myself. Easier to buy a harness ready made then drag out soldering iron, heat gun, etc., etc.

Other Thoughts: ASUS Z87-Deluxe LGA 1150 Intel Z87 mobo has a number of fan headers, using 2 to control 2 front fans in a Fractal Design Define XL R2 case (bypassing the Fractal case's manual fan controller). But these fans (original included fan + Vortex fan) weren't forcing enough air when things got hot.

Wanted to mount 2 of the FM121 fans up front to be able to FORCE air over the hdd's (seems like most cases "pack 'em tight" in the hdd cages), and have the fans' speeds controlled from the Asus Fan Xpert2, just like the fans I had in there. But the FM121's seemed designed for only manual control via their included manual controller.

Google "Aquacomputer Pump Connection Cable for Poweradjust 2 and Aquaero Series (53053)"; mine came from "frozen" (newegg doesn't carry). Unlike the intended use, running "backwards" works just fine:
1. 3-pin female connector attaches to mobo
2. 1-pin male (in 3 pin housing) connects to "speed sense" wire from fan (yellow wire in fan picture)
3. Molex power connector attaches to fan's molex power connector
4. I bridged the fan's 2 contoller male pins (black wire with white connector closest to fan in fan picture) with a jumper (back in the IDE hdd days, used to be included with every hdd. Had bought a parts kit awhile back, and a number of jumpers were included. Fit perfectly.)

Ran the Asus Fan Xpert2 to tune the fans, then set up their temp/speed curves.

Bottom line, this fan can be controlled from a mobo, eliminating the manual control, if desired.

2 out of 5 eggsnice fan, bad controller

Pros: good fan, easy controller

Cons: I dont think much thought was put into the design of the fan controller. I tried to install it into a raidmax smilodon and was not able to mount the controller securly. The tabs with the screw holes are maybe an inch and a half long which will allow it to be mounted flush with the face of the metal case, not the bezel. To mount it securely to the raidmax case you would have to reach inside the bezel to adjust the speed control.

Other Thoughts: this fan does what it is supposed to do and the fan controller works and does what it is supposed to do. I really think the mounting bracket was an afterthought that was just thrown in.
