When it absolutely has to be cool, nothing beats the Vantec Tornado Case Fan. Vantech's Tornado TD9238H case fan is a powerful cooling solution for today's desktop computers. The dual ball-bearing design extends the life span of the fan and keeps it spinning at 4,800rpm. It can be easily installed in a wide variety of desktop cases and yet is capable of pushing more than 100% of the air than a standard 92mm case fan—whether it's used to pull cool air into your system or push hot air out.

The fan can connect to your motherboard's standard 3-pin fan connector for power or the optional 4-pin cable allows you to connect this fan to your power supply. Perfect for gamers and overclockers, the Vantec Tornado Case Fan is a no-compromise solution to overheated computer woes.

5 out of 5 eggsThey last

Pros: They move a lot of air and they last 4ever.

Cons: They are loud!

Other Thoughts: I built a dual Xeon system using these for CPU cooling back when CPUs had one processor in them and NT4 was new. Ran it 24X7X365 for 10 years before I gave it away. Had to replace a couple of case fans during that time, but these were still trucking on. Great fans if you can live with noise.

4 out of 5 eggsVery Reliable Bought in 2005 - Moves a ton of air - - Noisy Yes

Pros: Moves so much air its not even funny. Can use for any application ( Intake, Exhaust, CPU cooler, Hot summer days on your desktop) .

So much air is moved with this, that on HIGH , it was able to lift itself off my desk and sustain a hover when I stabilized the sides.

This is a very very reliable fan - Ive owned (2) 80 (2) 92 mm since 2005 - and I have been using them daily ever since for gaming as almost max speeds.

Will keep your case very cool.

Would recommend replacing your CPU cooler fan with this as to the .001% fail rate, and air movement. Great for overclocking on air.

Cons: Yes it is extremely loud - only annoying when trying to watch a movie - Get a fan controller and well... they are still kinda loud .

Only con.

Other Thoughts: After 7 years , I will be replacing these with a slightly quieter model - though double ball bearings have proven themselves to me - and vantec. Great Job!

3 out of 5 eggsTornado is right!

Pros: Moves a lot of air, high CFM.

Cons: The power connector wasn't just a standard 3 pin fan connector, it was that plus a molex connector. Kind of a pain, makes sure your power supply has molex, mine didn't.

This thing is LOUD! As in it's hard to talk over it it's so loud. If you're using this in a desktop, you may want a fan controller to lower the speed and volume level.

5 out of 5 eggsthey are monsters of air flow!

Pros: Air flow is crazy, they are small, cheap

Cons: noise, but is know this guys made a lot of noise, they need 1amp

Other Thoughts: I got two of this fans years ago for a server rack, if noise is not a problem for you, this product is a must!

3 out of 5 eggsGreat fan, but loud

Pros: Moves a lot of air and cools well.

Cons: 1) Extremely loud... might be okay for a data center/server room setting, but not a family room.
2) My computer locked up every time I plugged in the fan. As soon as I would unplug the fan, my system would free up. I figure it's a power issue, but I have a brand new 650 watt power supply and thought it should be able to handle it.

Other Thoughts: I kind of expected these fans to be loud, but was a little surprised when my computer sounded like a jet engine. Maybe there's a way to adjust the fan speed/power consumption... but I didn't mess with it.

If you don't care about noise level and not worried about power consumption, buy this fan. It blows hard.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: If your problem is heat and you don't mind the noise, then this is the fan to have. It really moves air.

Cons: I would say it none but others say the noise is one.

5 out of 5 eggsLove, Love, Love The Tornadoes

Pros: Moves CFM like crazy, keeps sensitive and heat generating component temps under control. Don't need a water cooler with these turbines!

Cons: None. They are loud as 'ell, but that is the byproduct of super speed fans with massive air cooling capabilities. Why anyone would buy these and put them on a fan controller is beyond me. These are definitely for Target State performance.

Other Thoughts: I love these. I have two in particular in an overclocked server running only on air, just two is almost deafening, but these have been non-stop operational at full-speed since December 2003 and still going very strong and maintain original RPM specs, no bearing noise and no signs of them about to give up the magic smoke. Fantastic!

5 out of 5 eggsLoud and Strong

Pros: This thing is loud, but moves some serious air. I purchased it to replace a failed CPU fan on an old HP that has a slotted Pentium 2. It's working great.

Cons: Loud, but it is what it is. Anything that moved this much air is going to be loud.

5 out of 5 eggsMoves enough air to hover

Pros: This sucker moves air. I had one of these about 5 years ago. If you put it on a desk flow side down, it will literally hover. I used this when I was overclocking AMD Athlon XP's; coupled with a good copper heatsink, it would rival most water cooling setups.

Cons: Loud. Use a fan controller. If you buy this thinking it will be quiet, that's your own dumb fault. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Other Thoughts: I can't believe they still sell this. It was a solid product back when I used it, but I'm just amazed they didn't re-badge it with a new name or something. I would definitely recommend this to anyone overclocking.

On a side note, I can't remember where the thing went.... I think I may have sold it to a friend? I just remember it being solid as a rock.
