3 out of 5 eggsNo Motherboard Control

Pros: Good build quality. Moves air as advertised. I purchased the fan because of the double ball bearing and the advertised number of cubic feet per minute the fan could move.

Cons: I find this fan's method of temperature control unnerving. It has its own idea how fast to run at certain temperatures, and that cannot be user-adjusted. This fan is powered via Molex connector with an extra dongle to report fan RPMs to the motherboard. I wish that dongle had been longer since the fan system fan header on the motherboard was as far from the I/O shield as was possible. The fan throttles its speed based on a thermocouple extending from the motor housing into the airflow on the exhaust side of the unit. This is not the fan to purchase if you are hoping to vary fan speed with utilities like SpeedFan.

Other Thoughts: This IS the fan to buy if you need to put something in VERY close proximity to a hot spot in your case. If it's a general-use case fan, beware that your computer's hardware and the fan's thermocouple can have very different ideas about how much hot air needs to be moved out of the case. Sadly, the three-egg rating I'm giving this fan may be tempered by the fact I probably didn't understand the fan's features when I bought it. I'm posting this review to tell others what I wish I had known in the first place.

1 out of 5 eggsJunk!

Pros: None

Cons: Terrible, I bought 2 of these to put on my side intake ports and they hardly move any air whatsoever. I had one Thermaltake TT-8025T and my temps were cooler. My CPU temp runs 2 - 3 degrees higher with 2 of these, I don't want an RMA, I want a refund! I had to give one egg, or else I couldn't submit my review, what a joke!

Other Thoughts: What happened to the Thermaltake TT-8025T? Those are great fans. I guess there is no such thing as a good 80mm fan anymore, all junk IMHO.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Case Fan

Pros: Much quieter than the stock case fans. Moves enough air for my purposes, I don't overclock. Temperature probe located in airflow. Appears to be well built.

Cons: None so far.

1 out of 5 eggssucks

Pros: Its a fan

Cons: three pin wire did not work, i got 3 fans and it did not work on all of them, what gives?

Manufacturer Response:

I am sorry that the fans are not working. I am not sure why the fans would not work since they are the 3 pin wire conenction which most likely is Power/Ground/Fan Speed. Please contact our RMA dept and get those fans exchanged for brand new fans. Thank you and have a great day!

5 out of 5 eggsQuiet

Pros: This item is really quiet compare to stock fans which are to loud and don't have a speed control. The Vantec has a control which you connect through the case fan itself this cable comes out of the case and you can stick it anywhere on the outside of the case to control the speed of the fan. I have it on the right side of my case at the lowest speed. To be honest my PC makes the same equivalent noise when is on as when its off.

Cons: HUGE, HUGE, HUGE. Which I already knew. But when you see it that's when you realize it.

Other Thoughts: I will have to buy a newer model fan because I want to upgrade my CPU, Memory and Motherboard.

5 out of 5 eggsCool Little fan

Pros: Smooth fan for the price. I am using it as a exhast fan on side of pc right above my CPU fan to speed out more heat.

Cons: A humm but, nothing take would make me say wow thats bad.

Other Thoughts: Thinking of buying one more for a intake fan.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Quiet and moves more air than the ENERMAX UC-8EB 80mm Case Fan

Cons: It's red? I don't really mind as they are exhaust fans and I do not see them.

Other Thoughts: Brought this after I brought I brought the ENERMAX UC-8EB 80mm Case Fan. I should have purchased this because it moves more air at similar rpms and is just as quiet. Well the ENERMAX UC-8EB 80mm Case Fan is the quietest if the setting is around 1200 rpm but that rarely happens cause the heat of the mobo, Asus P5e3 Deluxe.
