1 out of 5 eggsUSB end falls out from server

Pros: Inexpensive

Cons: USB side 'falls' out from server side jack...what's with that?

Other Thoughts: Don't buy if you plan on using it with a Proliant Server. At the slightest touch it falls out.

2 out of 5 eggsDoes not support all keyboard's key

Pros: .

Cons: I have Inland PS2 keyboard that have 19 extenstion keys at the top. BYTECC BT-2000 supports only one extension key out of 19. Four other keys generate
keycodes that dublicate another keys. Other extension keys generate
no keycode at all, i.e. using plain English, do not work.

5 out of 5 eggsGood to have

Pros: USB plug and play

3 out of 5 eggsWorks OK for a while then pffftt

Pros: I have bought two of these over the last few years and while they work, they work pretty good. However..(see cons)

Cons: For some reason the "mouse" side of these seem to fail after about 8 or 9 months of intermittent use. The first time it happened I marked it up to a fluke. I order a second one and installed it.. it worked fine for about 8 or 9 months and then suddenly the mouse no longer functioned. I think there must be an inherent weakness in the decoding circuitry in this unit for this to be a common failure mode. Maybe the manufacturer can fix this issue, but for now I will try another brand.

Other Thoughts: I would be happy to send my two units in to the manufacturer for analysis if they are interested in correcting the issue as long as they pay for shipping.

4 out of 5 eggsWhat i needed

Pros: Works fine for me, only need one part of this. Bought a new motherboard with one PS2 port. The adapter is for my keyboard atm, and have seen no real problems.

Cons: I tested this a bit, and found that my adapter won't accept both my mouse and keyboard at the same time. No big deal for me though: i only need to plug one in.

Other Thoughts: If you expect to use any PS/2 port parts, make sure your motherboard has one built into it.

3 out of 5 eggsWorks for Basic Use

Pros: This thing allows you to use a ps2 keyboard and mouse at the same time. Not every computer has ps2 ports anymore. This comes in handy should you need to use a ps2 keyboard and/or mouse.

Cons: This is not good for gaming or for certain things that require simultaneous button presses. Cntrl+Alt+Delete works fine, but for some reason If you try to move your character in games it will not register correctly if you push more than one button on the keyboard (i tried with multiple ps2 keyboards and games). I.E. when you try to move diagonally ("w" and "a" keys) Your movement will stop because more than one button press usually results in the key commands cancelling each other out.

1 out of 5 eggsAdapter PS/2 to USB

Pros: Mouse and video works.

Cons: Can't get Keyboard to work. Tried switching P/S2 connectors as recommended by other sites, no dice. May be an issue with having Windows 7 Pro. Also locks up boot if the other computer (XP) isn't up first. Realistically, probably expecting too much to integrate old and new tech.
