The CyberPower 1080 surge suppressor is a Computer/Audio/Video Grade Surge Protector. This unit provides powerful surge suppression with 3600 Joules of protection and has 10 outlets of metal oxide varistor (MOV) protection (4 transformer-friendly, 6 standard).

It is equipped with a RJ11 port that protects phone/fax/modem/DSL equipment as well as a gold-plated RG6 coax port that is perfect for protecting your cable modem, cable TV lines, and DSS equipment. Electro-magnetic and radio frequency interference (EMI/RFI) shielding will rid your equipment from any harmful EMI/RF interference. MOV technology ensures the protection of all connected electronics and the surge suppressor itself.

  • newegg Metal Oxide Varistor (MOV) MOV technology allows normal current to pass through the device, while diverting any surge/spikes through the ground circuit. This safely protects all connected electronics along with the surge suppressor itself.
  • newegg Transformer-spaced Outlets Widely-spaced outlets allow you to conveniently add large transformer-based plugs without compromising the utility of other outlets.
  • newegg EMI/RFI Shielding The CyberPower 1080 surge suppressor provides shielding against electromagnetic interference and radio frequency signals. Most commonly, this is used to prevent line noise ("humming") that occurs over telephone lines and stereo electronics.
  • newegg Child-safe Outlets Outlets on the surge suppressor that are not used can be "closed off," so accidental electrical charging of objects cannot occur.
  • newegg Keyhole Mounting Slots Convenient mounting slots are located on the back on the surge suppressor.
  • newegg Sturdy ABS Case The CyberPower 1080 surge suppressor is constructed of impact-resistant composite material for maximum durability.

1 out of 5 eggsThomas Edison turns in his grave

Pros: I got it to work

Cons: Good luck getting anything plugged in.
Every time you're grunting and pushing, wiggling and twisting to get the prongs IN, you're going to be wondering, am I going to break a connection, short it out, this can't be right, maybe I should just chuck it.....

Other Thoughts: I would have returned it, but, nothing smoked after ramming in all the plugs and I'm too busy trying to make a living to mess around with returning product.

1 out of 5 eggs10 Outlets - All too tight

Pros: Great surge protector with plenty of outlets

Cons: impossible to insert a plug into any one of the 10 outlets. Everyone of the outlets were too tight and you REALLY had to press very hard to get a plug to go into the outlet. And yes, I made sure that observer the polarity each plug before attempting to insert into an outlets.

4 out of 5 eggsGood specs

Pros: Very good specs. Good response time, good max surge rating, good clamping voltage.
Includes covers for unused plugs. Includes a coax protector.
Good lighting indicators for functionality

Cons: No network surge protector? I dunno, I wish more had them these days...

Other Thoughts: It's definitely tan, not white, as the picture seems to indicate. Or maybe I got a random tan one...

3 out of 5 eggsflimsy and used

Pros: inexpensive.

Cons: bought two new from Newegg. As other reviewers have indicated, the quality is not there. Items arrived with one has already been opened. Never thought Newegg would do such thing.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat multimedia center protector

Pros: Unused outlets are protected from dust by a sliding cover.
Has outlets spaced to accommodate wall wort's.
3600 Joules surge protection.

Cons: I can't think of a justified con to write hear

Other Thoughts: Sliding outlet protectors are a little stiff but not a con because that makes a good seal.

5 out of 5 eggsIt keeps on working.

Pros: Has worked flawlessly for about 2 years.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I keep my computer, monitor, peripherals, and phone charger all plugged into this. It has withstood all that for about 2 years. We've had a few power outages, and in those cases neither the surge protector nor the items plugged into it have been damaged.
