5 out of 5 eggsIt's long and it works

Pros: *It's long
*It works

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Just buy it.

You'll know you need it if you're looking at the product details.

You actually NEED this cable if you want to use IDE/PATA drives with a new system that has no IDE header and you're installing an IDE interface card.

It's longer than the IDE cables we're all used to in systems from the old DOS/Windows 95 days, and we need such a cable if we're wanting to use old IDE drives in just about any current system.

Regular rubbing alcohol will clean off any gummy old-rubber-band residue from your cable, if it arrives like mine did. Just grab a paper towel and a bottle of Isopropyl from the drugstore, and clean it up easily.

4 out of 5 eggsIDE Cable

Pros: Good for routing behind a motherboard if you have the space, or if you don't have the space elsewhere.

Cons: Terrible if your still using IDE and a ribbon cable for your HDD.
Wreaks havock with any system's airflow if not organized.
Can't knock it if you have to have it.

Other Thoughts: Good chance airflow is not an issue if you have to use a ribbon.

3 out of 5 eggsserves the purpose

Pros: serves the purpose

Cons: a gooey half melted rubber band was inside the packaging. So some cleanup work was needed before installing the cable.

5 out of 5 eggsIde cable did the job

Pros: Quickly connected all the drives that are in my computer and read them right away.

Cons: none at all

Other Thoughts: Bought this to replace my older cable that broke and didn't allow me to put 2 drives. So over all completely satisfied. Thanks Newegg.
