5 out of 5 eggsDoes the job!

Pros: Not only does this product work well with my multiple WD Passport external hard drives, but it runs them 10+ hours a day, almost every day. I have never had a single problem or hiccup with these cables and they even retract perfectly every time. I've had problems with other cables in the past not spinning up my WD drives correctly, but this one has done the job.

Cons: None at all!

Other Thoughts: I was surprised when a recently purchased standard 6' Belkin cable couldn't spin up my drives the way this one does. This cable is very, very thin, but it does the job for me every time.

4 out of 5 eggsNeeds More Power!

Pros: Works great for my telephone (which I purchase it for).

Cons: Despite what others have said, it would not power up my WD Passport drive. The light comes on, but the drive will not spin.

Other Thoughts: It's fun to play with.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent product

Pros: I used this replace the Y-cable that came with my external hard-drive and I absolutely love it. It's retractable which is really nice because you won't have a mess/tangle of wires and it makes it easy to carry around.

Even better is the fact that it's powerful enough to power a device like the Maxtor OneTouch Mini. Most other rectractable cables are unable to do that.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Cable

Pros: Its compact and works as advertised, even on an external HDD... which is a rare thing for these retractable cables... most of them are 4 pin mini-B's!!!
It is of sturdy construction, and has abrasion resistant rubber cabling, and rewinds its self near perfectly every time.

Cons: I wish the lock positions were at shorter intervals, but you really do not need to lock the cable in place, the spring does not pull hard enough to pull the respective plugs from there sockets.
It is a bit pricey, a 1' 5 pin standard cable is $2, and is actually less bulky... (the 1' cables are more like 8"-10")... but then again if you need more than a foot, this thing is your ticket.

Other Thoughts: Other reviewers have complained of the cable getting tangled. This is from pulling it out from only one side, you have to pull both out at the same time. If it does get tangled, you can get it untangled, and completely extend it and let it retract back in... wahla, its fixed.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great with my Razr v3xx!

Pros: I bought BELKIN 2.6 ft. 5-Pin Mini-B Retractable Hi-Speed USB 2.0 Cable Model F3U138v03-RTC - Retail to use with my Moto Razr v3xx for both charging and tethering phone to laptop as usb modem. The cable works perfectly and I can charge the phone from the laptop and use it for internet access. I use the Motorola Phone Tools too and haven't had any problems with this cable. I am buying another for a friend so they can charge their phone at work without the need for a powerbrick. Seems the price went up a couple dollar$ but then, what product hasn't these days? Lifetime warranty too! Barely takes up any space in my computer bag.

Cons: No cons, yeah it isn't six feet long. The length is just fine for my needs. I want something to fit in my bag, not take up a lot of space.

Other Thoughts: if you need a longer cable, forget the retractable and get the BELKIN 6 ft. Pro Series USB 5-Pin Mini-B Cable Model F3U138-06 - Retail for $3.09.

2 out of 5 eggsNot good

Pros: Worked as expected for 4 days

Cons: Something is shorting out inside the wiring now so it shuts the USB ports down when it draws too much power. Therefore, it won't work anymore.

Other Thoughts: This is a problem with retractable data cables, I have heard.

3 out of 5 eggsDescription unclear

Pros: Works for my Canon Powershot S5 IS, but not what I bought it for.

Cons: Although the description states the device connection is a 5-Pin Mini-B, going by the image it just looks like the typical generic device plug.
Be CERTAIN of your plug type before buying.

Other Thoughts: Need better photos of the device connector.

5 out of 5 eggsIt works!

Pros: This is the only one I could find that powers my Maxtor USB Mini III Hard drive. It seems the others just fail to spin it up which is a real bummer or sorts.

It's sorta cute and also small. If you dont like the retractable thingy then just break it apart and you have a plain cord that works.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Oh yeah, this is the five pin type and I don't know what that means... four wires in and five out? Also thanks to the other posters for their input about their hard drives.
