3 out of 5 eggsnice and good design But...

Pros: 3 surge protectors outlets and 2 USB ports cant go wrong right?, wrong

Cons: USB ports on my older model are .5amps as well I keep looking and so far I only found one that says 2.1amps combined, whats with that how about detailing if they are both 1 amp or a 2amp and a 1 amp. I know smart phones all run on 1amp for better faster safer charging any more and damaged battery. I believe some higher end tablets need 2 amps, my kindle needs only 1amp. So yeah I am porting the cables through the plugs. the USB ports remain largely unused.

Other Thoughts: I still use the ports for overnight phone charges, since it wont hurt, IMHO, but otherwise I would prefer to upgrade to one designed to handle the smart phones at 1amp and maybe 1 for tablets that need more amps(properly marked of course else even I could screw up. I didn't realize I was running .5 amps until about a year ago...funny the things you learn. Better finding it somewhere with better detail or in store so you can read the back for OUTPUT of USBs

4 out of 5 eggsNot so Bad, very functional

Pros: Ergonomic- functional, durable, not cheaply made

The USB ports are weak, its not really mentioned, but i get at most 4 Watts of power coming through by USB to charge my phone.. where are normal USB to WALL adapter will do up to 14.

I use it for chargin and testing devices at my workstation and its the best i've found so far and its holding strong

Fantastic price

Cons: slow charge rate

Other Thoughts: it should really be a $12-15 part at best

4 out of 5 eggsIt does its job

Pros: The building we are in has what I call spaghetti wiring and we frequently experience brown outs and surges. we use this item on our laptops and bring it while traveling, so far both laptops are doing fine.

Cons: slightly bulky for travel but you wont find a smaller one that does the job.

Other Thoughts: I rate four eggs because for me something has to be exceptional to rate the top rating; so even though this item is exactly what was expected and you should buy it - it simply doesn't make coffee or keep me entertained for hours on end..

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Product

Pros: Have had two of these for my wife and I, bought two more for the kids to use. Great when we go out of town as I don't have to grab a bunch of chargers. Also can charge me iPhone and know there is some protection for a freak storm.

Cons: None.

2 out of 5 eggsDisappointment

Pros: Handy power protection while travelling. Like the USB charging ports.

Cons: Will not charge my iPad. I purchased this because I have an older model, and liked it so much I wanted another. The old model DOES charge the iPad, the new model does NOT! Something changed. Both made in China, but the newer one obviously does not have the same output on the USB ports. Charges the iPhone OK, just not the iPad, which has a higher requirement.

5 out of 5 eggsEffective

Pros: Looks nice. Has two usb wall chargers (That's a nice addition) for a phone or gps device or mouse, w/e. Can turn it in 90degree cycles to have it longitude or latitude.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Overall; happy I bought it.

1 out of 5 eggsAlmost bought, but then read it's only 500mA USB

Pros: It's small

Cons: I first saw this on Belkin's website - and even there they don't bother mentioning the capacity of the USB ports. Make no mistake, knowing this number is CRUCIAL! If you have ANY smartphone or tablet computer these days NOTHING LESS THAN 1000mA (1 amp) will suffice. Instead of charging or even maintaining a charge, you'll find that your device simply drains slower with this low of a mA capacity.

Other Thoughts: It's despicable they don't put the USB mA rating in the specs. In this day & age that's as bad as failing to note how much RAM a computer has, or how many watts it's power supply is.

Thank you to those who already (unfortunately) bought this and chimed in to warn us of the puny 500mA USB capacity/spec.

2 out of 5 eggsMeh

Pros: Affordable when it's on sale and was useful when I first had it. No wires or a mess on the floor as it stick onto the wall outlet.

Cons: Awkward, and unbalanced. Maybe if someone had industrial strength outlets would this be awesome, but if I have it plugged in and stretching horizontally towards the left, then the left-most outlet is tough to use. When I plug something into it, I have to hold the whole Belkin surge protector tightly into the outlet so it doesn't pop out or break the wall outlet.

Also, I used to use the USB ports when charging phone when I was sitting at my computer desk for hours on end, but now I NEVER use it. 500mA is way too weak with today's standards and smartphones. Useless.

Other Thoughts: Buy this if you don't care about the slow charge. Also make sure you're aware that when you plug something into the farthest outlet from the socket plug, you will likely need to hold the whole thing down.

2 out of 5 eggsUnder powered USB

Pros: Convenient, cheap.

Cons: USB is only .5A or 500ma on each port. This needs to be on the details page of the product!

Other Thoughts: This is NOT a quick charging USB charger. I was really hoping it was after reading some of the reviews. Only outputs 500ma which is less than most USB chargers on the market. This will not charge your ipad.
