5 out of 5 eggsHardcore Mode

Pros: I wired a bunch of LED lighting to this so i could have one button to turn everything on.

Cons: Bigger then I expected. Cord for button is kinda short.

4 out of 5 eggs1 button, but so difficult

Pros: It has plenty of spacing between the outlets to allow for larger housed plugs. The wire lined remote button makes it so you never have to bend down to switch it off. Have my computer tower and alarm clock in the always on outlets, and my PC speakers, monitor and extras in the timer so that when i fall asleep at night they will turn themselves off. Powers perfectly.

Cons: Very cool concept, but... How often do you actually turn off a power strip or need to turn it off? Yeah it might save some electric, but one outlet is not gonna have a supreme impact on your bill. When the light begins to blink to show it is prepping for shutdown... you will not notice it, and your device will shut off. I have this thing in my plain view and have only caught the light once. If you tap the button before the light blinks it will also shut off.

Other Thoughts: A better formula for this item would have been a tap/double tap: single tap would have refreshed the timer but a second consecutive tap would have shutdown the item. I bought this merely because I thought of how cool it would be to have an automatic power source. The power light is green and is always on when the item is on, when it begins to shut down it blinks.. green. A lime green 1mmX2mm light is dificult to see against a white background with room lights on, and when it blinks off the item is the clear material of a vehicle headlight (still somewhat whitish). The item itself functions fine, i believe we should have had it blink red when in shutdown mode or perhaps the anytime double tap to refresh.

4 out of 5 eggsFinally!

Pros: Finally, a power strip I can turn on and off without having to have it on my desk with all the wires sticking out of it or having to reach under my desk. I've been looking for something like this for a while. Closest I found were things like the foot switches for xmas lights. But those don't have the ground wire.

Cons: Not cheap. Fancier than I need. Just a simple switch is fine. The timer could be nice if you forget to turn it off. But is mostly unnecessary. I agree with the other review that having a built in switch on the device itself would be a nice as a backup. Although I'm guessing that the switch it comes with is just a simple switch given that it uses a mono-headphone looking plug with only two leads. Either it's open and the unit is on or it's closed and the unit is off. Easy enough to make a replacement if lost.

Other Thoughts: Now I can turn off two of my three monitors and my speakers all at once without having to reach under the desk. Nice. The third monitor is plugged into the UPS in case of a power outage and I turn that off separately.

4 out of 5 eggsConserve

Pros: This is a larger surge protector but it does have nicely spaced sockets so even large plugs can fit. The product works just as advertised. Two sockets for always on power and 6 to be controlled by the switch which has a decent cord about 6 feet or so. I don't know for sure if I'm saving energy but it turns off the power for sure.

Cons: If something should happen to the switch there isn't a button on the protector itself to turn on the 6 switched sockets. Lose the switch get only 2 sockets left. It feels very sturdy but anything could happen over time.

Other Thoughts: For the price I would've liked a dedicated switch on the unit itself. The ability to change the timer from 11 hours to say 8 or something else would've been nice too but I'm just being picky. Its still a good product.
