While this does make it sort of child proof it does not make it a good surge suppressor to plug in most electrical equipment. Other Thoughts: The arrangement of the outlets is excellent. The on/OFF switch needs to be redesigned. I assume the switch is probably an integral part of surge suppressor in effort to cut costs. I added the child proof statement because if a child or pet hamster were to touch the BE108000-08-CM the off switch may be activated.
