Pros: This PS/2 to USB adapter works with IOGear KVMs. I've tried several other brands that do not. If you have an IOGear PS2 KVM and need USB for keyboard and mouse connections on the machines hooked to it, bite the bullet and order these.

Other Thoughts: Boot up your pc, plug this in so it gets detected, then drivers will be installed. I booted my HP mini-server, which has USB only, plugged this in and it detected and installed drivers. Then I was able to remove my USB devices and use an old spare IOGEAR KVM with PS2 ports and this adapter. It works perfect, now I can KVM 2 machines with a spare PS2 keyboard and mouse and keep my newer usb ones for use with my other USB KVM.

Other Thoughts: Well this product works every time. Some people complain about some of the silly things with it but over all the product works every time.

Pros: Recognized immediately by Windows, and works perfectly fine for day-to-day activities. Very happy in Vista 64.

Cons: When playing online games such as Team Fortress 2, you need to press multiple keys at once. If you have two keys pressed and then release one, the adapter doesn't notice that one is still depressed. So, for example, if you were moving left and forward at the same time, and then you wanted to only move forward, you have to press and release the "forward" key. That is not acceptable in a gaming situation.

Pros: Plug and play, no software to load, no hangups or burps whatsoever. Finds keyboard and mouse immediately. I was up and running in 1 min or less.

Cons: Price, but you get what you pay for.

Other Thoughts: I use this to toggle between a Roland VS2480CD 24 track recorder and my laptop, and it responds without any hang ups at all, I have an older PS/2 KVM switch. On the Roland the display, mouse and keyboard are ready to use almost instantly, toggle back to the laptop and you are ready to surf the web instantly, all with 1 monitor, 1 keyboard, and 1 mouse. Will have to own it for a year to comment on reliability, but it seems well made.

Pros: had trouble with non I/OGear ps/2 to USB adapters running through any ps/2 KVM switches. buying the I/OGear adapter solved the problem. now computers that have no PS/2 adapters will run properly thru my I/OGear KVM switch. worth the extra few bucks for a high quality product.

Pros: I'm sure it works fine for what it was designed which is to put two PS/2 ports on one USB port.

Cons: I purchased this along with item # 17-107-417 IOGEAR MINIVIEW GCS632U 2PT USB KVM as it was advertised below the item on newegg. However, with the KVM that I got you have to have a separate USB plug specifically in the keyboard slot on the KVM and one in the mouse slot on the KVM, so an adapter that takes two PS/2's and makes 1 USB out of it will not work. Very poor marketing on Newegg's part. However, the return was swift and painless as always.
