Works with XP
- Pros: Works on my HP 6p laserjet, took 2 minutes to install.
- Cons: Didn't auto configure. I had to manually install as Virtual USB Printer. Takes a minute.
- Other Thoughts: Cable came in one day with standard 3day shipping. I'm sold on Newegg.
Love it
- Pros: Just received. Plugged it into my HP Laserjet 6p, then my Vista machine and the OS auto sensed it, installed the driver and appropriate port setting. Opened up printers and printed a test page with no problems. That's what I call perfect implimentation! Will recommend to all my friends and family who need it. I don't have a problem with the price. If it was $30+, then we'd have a problem.
- Cons: None. Except that the cable... although 6 feet long required me to rethink my current printer placement. I had it 9 feet away and so I moved it. Perhaps, I should have picked up a USB extender.
- Other Thoughts: Parallel printers are disappearing by shear old age. My motherboard in my new custom build didn't even include a parallel port. By nature, this cable will grow less and less needed. I just saw a personal Laser from Brother fror $70. If you're waiting for the price on this to go down, don't hold your breath. Demand for this product is growing less or staying the same in my opinion. So I highly doubt the price will change. The product appears to be made of good quality. I'd just go ahead and purchase it if I were needing another.
HP LaserJet 6L works with Mac Mini
- Pros: works with Mac
- Cons: didn't come with a free iPod
- Other Thoughts: More expensive than most, but the first one I bought (China direct) died after 1 month. This one has a warranty.
