The Coboc HM-SPL-4KUP-1X2 is a high-performance HDMI scaler splitter with three HDMI ports (one input and two outputs). It supports two output modes – bypass mode and scaler mode*.

Most importantly, it boasts the ability of HDMI singal Up & Down scaling. It can upscale 1080p@24Hz signal to UHD 4K @30fps resolutions, and downscale 4K2K signal to 1080p@24Hz to compatible HD/4K monitors simultaneously via an HDMI cable. It also supports 3D video output. You’ll enjoy superior video quality. Plus, it’s compliant with HDCP.

Note: *In scaler mode, make sure that the HDMI output of your source defaults to or can be set to refresh rate at 24/25/30Hz.

In bypass mode, it reads and mixes all sources and displays EDID information, and outputs the highest resolution that all sources and displays support. In scaler mode, it reads and analyzes the EDID information from two displays simultaneously, realizes the handshake of displays individually, and outputs the highest supported resolution between sources and displays, ensuring maximum compatibility in any system.
High resolution support The ability of HDMI signal Up & Down scaling is a crucial function when working with 1080P or 4K sources in a complex AV system and distributing the HDMI source to multiple displays which have varying resolution support. When user upgrades 4K display in the AV system, this device can function as an HDMI up-scaler to automatically integrate a 1080P@24/25/30Hz source into 4K x 2K at corresponding refresh rate. When users upgrade 4K source in the AV system, it can be used as HDMI down-scaler to automatically integrate a 4K2K@24/25/30 source into 1080P at corresponding refresh rate.

Pros: It helped with detective which resolution I was at I thought my pic was at 2044 dpi but it had to upscale from 1024p first this device worked for that but then I fixed my AMD catalyst device driver and got 2044p and 4 k from thiat with this so I liked it did that also pretty nice little box bad economy it wasn't resale that much to buy one at the tine bit works tad bit tricky Cons: None its size none but you don't need it if you have the latest video device drivers for your video cards Other Thoughts: I would keep it to test my resolutions on my drivers on my pc but now that my drivers work u don't need this anymore. 0 out of 2 people found this review helpful.
